Characteristics important for ensuring of sustainable and development of dairy cattle herds breeding
Lelek, Jaroslav ; Stádník, Luděk (advisor) ; Petr, Petr (referee)
The aim of this dissertation was to assess the influence of characteristics important for ensuring of sustainable and development of dairy cattle herds breeding. The data investigated describe approximately 5138 dairy cows in period of four years in selected farming´s of dairy cattle in district of Jičín. There were these indicators of reproduction processed: conception rate after first insemination, conception rate after all inseminations, interval of insemination, index of insemination, service period and meantime; the data were collected from seven stables of Bohemian Spotted cattle and from seven stables of Holstein cattle. The longevity was investigated from the number of dairy cows at respective lactation of both investigated breeds and from the average lactation in respective years. The results of investigation prove that the average percentage representation of dairy cow at respective lactation between 2012-2015 ranged 33,4 % at first lactation, and 24,68 % at second lactation, and 18,13 % at third lactation, and 11,48 % at fourth lactation, and 6,53 % at fifth lactation, and 3,32 % at sixth lactation, and 2,36 % at seventh and more lactations. The evident data from comparison prove, that till third lactation there is higher percentage representation of Holstein cattle and from third lactation there are more cows of Bohemian Spotted cattle, and also the average reached lactation confirms this the value of 2,75 lactation for Bohemian Spotted cattle and the value of 2,3 lactation for Holstein cattle. The influence of breed on the average length of lactation was quite weak. The results of rating indicators of reproduction also have not proven any statistically important difference between both types of cattle as concerns values reached by each cattle, but the original Bohemian Spotted cattle reached better results in all indicators, and thus it is probably more suitable for the area of district Jičín.

Influence of nematophagous fungi on populations of important phytoparasitic nematodes, family Heteroderidae, in the Czech Republic
Hussain, Manzoor ; Ryšánek, Pavel (advisor) ; Vadlejch, Jaroslav (referee)
We report on studies aimed to evaluate the effects of five nematophagous fungi on population dynamics of northern root knot nematode, Meloidogyne hapla and sugar beet cyst nematode, Heterodera schachtii in laboratory and greenhouse trials. During our biocontrol studies, mainly five fungal species Arthrobotrys oligospora, Dactylella oviparasitica, Clonostachys rosea, Stropharia rugosoannulata, and Lecanicillium muscarium were isolated from eggmasses of nematodes during root and soil samples collected in Czech Republic and tested against Meloidogyne hapla in carrots while Heterodera schachtii in sugar beet, both in-vitro and in-vivo fashions. All fungi exhibited varied type of infection on nematodes but L. muscarium proved to be the most potential bioagent in controlling nematode population enormously. Lecanicillium muscarium not only halted nematode reproduction factor (Pf/Pi) but also escalated plant growth. Plant root systems treated with L. muscarium were observed colonized by fungi while seen under microscope which depicted that fungi provided a protecting shield or body guard against plant parasitic nematodes. Moreover, L. muscarium was further compared with commercially available nematicides and a fertilizer to justify its highly potential for diminishing nematode population. L. muscarium along with nematicides and fertilizer had dramatic effects in reduction of both nematodes (M. hapla, H. schachtii) population in soil but improvement of plant growth was only noticed in case of L. muscarium. The chemical nematicide, Dazomet had some negative effects which appeared in the form of chlorotic spots on leaves which further suggested that there were some the phytotoxic effects.

The Evaluation of Reproduction in Bactrian Camels (Camelus bactrianus) and the Possibilities of Using Non-invasive Methods for Detection of Heat and Pregnancy
Fedorova, Tamara ; Lukešová, Daniela (advisor) ; Jiří, Jiří (referee)
Camels are important husbandry animals which are also often bred in zoological gardens. Unfortunately, camels in European zoos are not usually trained and pregnancy diagnosis in a half-tamed camel is very difficult. Moreover, information of the maternal behaviour of camels is limited. This thesis reviewed current knowledge on camel husbandry, reproduction and behaviour and aimed to 1) examine non-invasive methods of heat and pregnancy diagnosis from urine and saliva in camels kept in zoological gardens; 2) explore their maternal and suckling behaviour; 3) describe experiences with artificial rearing of camel calves. The research into non-invasive pregnancy diagnosis was carried out from 2010 to 2012. Urine from 14 camel females kept in four European zoological gardens was collected and tested using two chemical tests -- the Cuboni reaction and barium chloride test. The Cuboni reaction was significantly (p < 0.01) affected by the pregnancy status of female camels, and its accuracy increased significantly (p < 0.05) in the period leading up to parturition. The barium chloride test did not provide reliable results. Next, the saliva of five adult female camels was sampled for more than one year and concentrations of progesterone (P4) and oestradiol (E2) were measured. The concentrations of P4 (n = 312) and E2 (n = 310) were both significantly (p < 0.0001) affected by the pregnancy status of the animals. Maternal and suckling behaviour was observed from 2003 to 2009 in six zoological gardens, and the presented study includes partial data from this period. Allosuckling (i.e. when a female nurses a non-filial offspring) was described for the first time in camels and it represented 8.58% of all suckling bouts. The non-filial calves suckled more often in the lateral position and preferably joined the filial calf when suckling, so the results support the 'milk theft' hypothesis (stealing of milk) as a main cause of this behaviour. Finally, calf rearing in the Prague zoological garden was summarised and two camel calves were successfully artificially reared. This PhD thesis concluded that 1) the Cuboni reaction with urine and salivary P4 and E2 measurements are suitable methods for pregnancy diagnosis in half-tamed female camels; 2) allosuckling is relatively common in captive Bactrian camels; 3) the artificial rearing of camel calves with a calf milk replacer can be successful.

Evaluation of information security in information systems
Urbanec, Jiří ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Vlasta , Vlasta (referee)
Information is a valuable asset for organizations and a source of competitive advantage nowadays. Therefore it is necessary to retain information security characteristics of processes and systems in required limits and continuously evaluate the state using measurement. The problem in measurement shows to be in the selection of suitable characteristics and measures of the processes or the products, which are subject to measurement. The main aim of the dissertation thesis is to design methodic for evaluating information security in information systems and formulate conclusions and recommendations for its use in practice. The situation in The Czech Republic was obtained based on a quantitative survey in which data was collected by means of a questionnaire survey (N=785; n=101) and qualitative research was conducted in the 3 organizations from financial sector in the Czech Republic. Results showed that at present an absolute majority of surveyed organizations evaluate information systems from the perspective of risk to valuable information (58.49%). Organizations evaluating information security are most often to identify weaknesses and emerging issues (41.5%). Only a 17.6% of them measure. The designed methodic identifies behavioral model of the organization, defines measurable characteristics of the system and the organization based on extended security model, defines process of development of the measures based on GQM tool, engages measurement process compatible with ISO 27004 and presents evaluation procedure using measured values. The proposed procedures and constructs focused on improvement of field detected by the survey, the "information classification" and "difference between perception of information value between owner and processor". The procedures were validated on two anonymous organizations and are presented in form of case studies. One of the conclusions is, that proposed methodic is applicable mostly in organizations with strong technical and financial base, where it is possible to overcome requirements of measures development processes and measurement application. Also the methodic of evaluation has its own limits of applicability.

Valuation of an agricultural company
Michálek, Tomáš ; Hricová, Daniela (advisor) ; Olga, Olga (referee)
The topic of this master thesis is a valuation of an agricultural company. Based on this valuation, an objective value of the company is obtained which might serve as a suitable knowledge before selling or buying the company. Two appropriate methods were chosen for valuation. Their choice depended on collected information about the company and on the results of a preliminary strategical and financial analysis. The thesis contains two parts. In the first one, results of a literature search are given encompassing the key notions in the valuation process, available preliminary analyses, methods and recommended processes of valuation. The second part puts the theory into practice using an existing company. First, the financial and strategical analysis is implemented. Depending on the results of the analyses, it is decided whether to evaluate the company and if so, which methods to choose for valuation. Finally, two appropriate methods of valuation are chosen the method of book value and the method of capitalized net earnings. The results of these two methods are combined in the final value. The rest of the work contains the final conclusion.

The influence of brand on consumer buying behavior
Zajícová, Pavlína ; Vokáčová, Lucie (advisor) ; Martina, Martina (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to find differences in perception and knowledge of sportswear brands, and the purchase behaviour process of sportswear based on the purpose of purchase (sporting activities, leisure or daily wear), and then to recommend steps for a successful brand building to Czech manufacturers of sportswear. The theoretical part of the work, which is based on analysis and synthesis of secondary data sources, quotes and comparisons of the opinions presented by various authors, characterizes marketing management, its tools, brand, and costumer purchase behaviour. The practical part of this thesis consists of an analysis of secondary data dealing with brand policy of selected sportswear brands (Nike, Adidas, Puma, Alpine Pro, Hannah, Husky) and primary data collected via questionnaire. Based on the results of the research, conclusion and recommendation were formulated. The recommendation comprises of systematic work on creating brand identity, identification elements and active communication of values that a brand brings to current and potential customers. To focus on a segment of active sportsmen, which currently do not have a favourite sportswear brand is also recommended. The successful acquisition of this segment enables a creation of a relatively large base of loyal customers.
