Creating a vision of how this space could develop further in the next 50 years and how it could work in a transitional phase during the construction of a new nuclear power plant unit. The subject of the thesis is the elaboration of an architectural study, which is based on an urban study. Urban study was processed within the framework of the pre-diploma thesis and solved mainly the overall problems of this area, the new transport connection, and the functional division of the whole area. The area was divided into three functional units, namely the transport zone, the administrative zone and the sports and education zone. At present, there are a lot of small structurally and functionally unsuitable buildings in this area. The diploma thesis deals with the design of new buildings with a clear functional use in the administrative zone, in the area in front of the main gatehouse. A new representative square was created, and three buildings are designed around it. The dominant feature of the whole area was a high-rise office building near the gatehouse. In front of the office building, towards the main road, the service building I was designed, which contains business and healthcare services. On the other side of the square was located the service building II, where there are technical services, such as workshops, warehouses and metrology. The last building solved within the diploma thesis is the building of sports and locker rooms of suppliers, which is designed behind the square near the greenery. New building copies mass of the only preserved building in this area, namely the building of the information centre. The designed building has a fitness centre and locker rooms of external workers of the power plant.
Brno City Hospital
Lebedev, Ilya ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the architectural design of the city hospital in Brno. The work is based on a previously developed studio project from the winter semester. The subject of studio project was the design of an urban and transport concept for the selected area. The selected site is located in the wider city center on the right bank of the Svratka river in the westernmost part of the Brno-střed district in the cadastral area of Pisárky. The whole land is owned by the city. It has a markedly sloping terrain with difficult foundation conditions due to the landslide. Although it is close to the river, there is no risk of floods of any kind. The main idea of the design is a connection of the new hospital complex with the existing city structure, Anthropos park and especially the surrounding nature. The chosen shape is inspired and based on the outline of the blue star of life. It is a combination of monoblock and pavilion type, which offers flexibility, facilitates orientation and has the potential for organic growth for future development. The building is conveniently oriented, opening towards the exhibition center and the historic part of the city. From the western and southern part it is surrounded by forest, from the eastern by tree alley and the river Svratka, from the northern part by Anthropos park. The construction of the hospital should make the site more attractive. The accompanying program will include landscaping, a new café by the retention lake, sports activities, a pavilion for medicine and nature, which together with the Anthropos pavilion will complement the educational activities in the area. The aim of the design was to create a quality environment for patients and staff in a unique location on the waterfront and to provide maximum connection with the surrounding nature.

Kociánová, Lenka ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec as a place of social activities, cultural events and active relaxation in connection with a park and green vegetation. The square is a place of social contact, place of everyday life and cultural events, public, living and generally a busy place. The park is more restful, green and natural place. The park is a green framework of social interaction and rest in the urban surroundings. However, both have something in common. They are the places made artificially for people, the places of intensive life. Without relevant background they are unusable, they have no sense and they are abandoned. The purpose of new Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec was to design a new place as a transitional zone from the rush of public transport to the green park. The square should be a peaceful pedestrian zone with greenery supplemented by the public park with a water area, a café and an active park with multipurpose areas for games and sport activities such as pétanque field and a field for dogs. It is the comprehensive solution for Mikulášek Square with respect for local residents in surrounding blocks of flats, seniors in home for the elderly and children who have no place for their games. The whole area is fully wheelchair accessible. In this part only the sport centre a passageway are described and solved in details.

Šiprová, Lucie ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Novotný, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with restoration and repurposing of main train station building in Brno. It consists of Building permit documentation and part of Documentation for execution of the project, both of which are based on architectonic study created as part of course AG33 - Architectural Design Studio III. during previous studies. The building is situated in Brno city centre, district Brno – Střed, cadastral area (municipality of) Město Brno (610003). The project assumes that the main train station will be moved ca 800 meters to the south, leaving the current train station building unused. The project incorporates a conceptual study of a new purpose for the historic building and nearby railway junction, including its interconnection with near surroundings. Detailed solution describes a new hotel building, which will replace current newest wing of the train station. The main idea of the transformation is to keep as much of the historic building and valuable structures as possible, avoid increasing the building footprint and bring new life to the building and city centre. The attractiveness of the site will be enhanced by a new park located in the area currently occupied by the railway junction. The park will be connected to the 2nd floor of the Tesco shopping centre and Vaňkovka shopping gallery by a pedestrian bridge. Parking capacity will be provided by a new underground car park built below the railway junction. Additionally, modern version of the original tower above the main hall, which was destroyed during World War II, will be built. The new hotel building, as well as all repairs and changes (new tower) will follow a modern style, while respecting and enhancing the historic Art Nouveau building and genius loci of the place.
