Ulipová, Jana ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the magazine "Širým světem", which was managed by Stanislav Nikolau (1878-1950), a prominent figure in the public life of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Based on a historical analysis of primary sources, placed in context by the study of secondary literature, it completes Nikolau's personality including his views orientation that is based on the ideas of the nationalist right-wing, with a strong anti-Communist orientation, through the leadership of the Czech fascist movement Vlajka to the anti-Semitic rhetoric. The thesis presents his rich activity in the pedagogical, journalistic, and editorial field and does not omit his professional work that was always closely intertwined with geography. However, it is an analysis of the non-fictional periodical "Širým světem. The Geographical Magazine", founded by Nikolau for young readers in 1924 that is the core of the thesis. The magatine's content also corresponded to that − it included adventure stories, short stories and original travel reports that − in addition to the resilience of the human spirit − also reflected the diversity of geographical conditions especially on non-European continents. It continued to develop and change in the context of Nikolau's preferences, reflecting the growing interest of the reading public...
Media imperialism and its possible influence on identity perception: The case of Lebanese youth
Abdul Baki, Sandra ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Lábová, Sandra (referee)
Western media imperialism in the Global South has long been a discussion in media studies. Lebanon, a country in the Levantine region, is often characterized by its conflicting Arab and Western identities. This study investigates whether the domination of Western media in the entertainment industry plays a role in shaping the cultural identity of the Lebanese youth towards a more Westernised one. The study uses a cross-sectional survey of 140 respondents aged 18-25 from five main universities in Lebanon. The study analyses the collected data through descriptive and inferential statistics. The study reveals that the higher the consumption of Western entertainment media, the weaker the fulfillment with local culture on the one hand and the higher the identification with Western culture on the other hand. In addition, respondents who have high consumption of Western entertainment media tend to adopt Western cultural preferences of wearing Western fashion, listening to Western music, and being fluent in both Arabic and Western languages at the same level. Author: Bc. Filip Zakonov Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Title: Analysis of the most common injuries among the players of floorball aged 7-18 and the influence of the compensatory methods on their prevention. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the most common injuries among young people who regularly play floorball and find out the effect of the intervention of a physiotherapist or the application of compensatory exercises in the training process on the incidence of injuries. It is also important to compare the availability of physiotherapists for individual youth teams and whether the provided care is sufficient to prevent injuries. Furthermore, the aim is to verify whether the most affected segment even among floorball youth is the ankle joint, which in studies focused on the adult category has repeatedly emerged as the most frequently injured area of all parts of the body. Moreover, my effort is to evaluate the most common causes of injuries - whether a collision with another player is more probable risk factor than an injury caused by one's own fault. Methods: The special part consists of a study that was conducted using a non- standardized questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was sent deliberately in an electronic form to all clubs in the Czech Republic via the...

Title: Burnout syndrome in swimmers of age-group categories Objectives: The aim of this work was to systematically map and analyze empirical knowledge about burnout syndrome in competitive swimmers under 18 years of age. Methods: This work was created in the form of a review study. Specifically, the purpose was to get as close as possible to the design of the scoping review. The search for relevant sources was carried out on the basis of predetermined criteria in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and the Google Scholar search engine was also used as a complement. Results: There were found 7 relevant articles where 5 of them dealt with factors related to the development of burnout in young swimmers, one included a comparison of burnout scores between swimmers and volleyball players, and one article examined the psychometric properties of the Athlete Burnout Questionnaire adapted for children under 13 years of age. The results that stem from the analysis of these articles in most cases confirmed the hypotheses regarding the burnout syndrome in athletes, however, despite the assumption, a positive relationship between early specialization and the development of burnout was not proven. Keywords: syndrome, burnout, maladaptive, swimming, youth, dropout
