This bachelor thesis ,,Potential of biomass resources in CZE and costs of its energy utilization,, evaluates financial part of energetic use of biomass and summarizes factors affecting the price of biomass on Czech market. The work is focused on wood chips. In the introduction there is an overview of basic division of biomass and utilization as an energy source. Next chapter is about wood chips, their production and properties. Second part of the thesis describes the occurrence of lumber companies in Czech Republic and assessment of wood chips price.
Solid fuels boilers

This bachelor’s thesis deals with burning solid fuels in boilers used for house heating. In the first chapter, the individual kinds of solid fuels are described in light of their composition, properties, means of their energetical application and ways of adjusting them to a form proper for combustion. In the second chapter, the individual types of solid fuels boilers are described. The last chapter deals with comparision of several specific boilers in light of their purchase price and operating expenses.
Boards with alkali activated binder filled with wood chips

For the production of cement chipboards, cement is used as a binder which is an ecological burden for our planet. This diploma thesis deals with research into the possibility of replacing it with other alternative materials, especially those that are created as a by-product of other production. The focus is primarily on slag, heating plant slag or brick dust. The theoretical part deals with the previous studies and theoretical knowledge of alkaline-activated matrices which are supplemented with an organic binder such as wood chips which are used to reinforce the boards. The practical part deals with the above-mentioned alternative materials which are tested for the design of recipes for modified boards made of alkali-activated binder reinforced with chips. These modified recipes are subsequently subjected to physical-mechanical tests such as bending strength, modulus of elasticity and other monitored parameters of the boards. Selected board variants were analysed in terms of mineralogical composition and microstructure.
Determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler

This bachelor thesis deals with the determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler. The principle of the screw conveyor is described at the beginning of the thesis. It is followed by a description of the individual parts of the worm. The second part of the research deals with the properties of the materials transported. The second half of the bachelor thesis is practical. In this section there are experimentally measured values of flow of sawdust and wood chips. At the end, the measured values are compared and evaluated.

In the first part are characterized solid fuels, the individual kinds of solid fuels, properties, modifications and processing are described to finishing suitable form for burning. The second part describes individual biomass boilers for house heating. The last part of this thesis compares the selected biomass boilers from an economic perspective.

Belt Conveyor for a bulk material

This bachelor thesis deals with construction design of belt conveyor, which is part of woodworking chipper line. The main task is design height adjustable and folding belt conveyor for transporting wood chips and the slope of transport is to 45°, traffic performance of 7000 kgh-1 and 6 m length of the conveyor. The thesis includes a search report of angled belt conveyors, next function calculation of belt conveyor according to norm ČSN ISO 5048, design of drives derived from the tractor, strength calculation of driven drum, frame construction and control calculation of tensioning devices. The work is accompanied by required drawing documentation.
Wood chip belt conveyor

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to perform a design and functional calculation of a belt conveyor with the capacity of 19,000 kg·h-1 for the transport of wood chips with an assumed density of 650 kg·m-3. The height difference reaches 3 m, and the axial transport distance is 19 m. The work includes a brief general description of belt conveyors, their basic elements, functional calculation performed according to ČSN ISO 5048, strength calculation of selected belt conveyor elements and analysis of transported material. The required technical drawing documentation is included in the appendix.
Grate Biomass Boiler

This master thesis deals with design of grate biomass boiler with 50 t/h power. A fuel of the boiler is a mixture of contaminated biomass and woodchips. The boiler produces steam with parameters of 4,2 MPa and 420 °C. Stochiometric and thermal calculations are based on given fuel composition and output steam parameters. Heat exchangers are designated in accordance with the calculations. General drawing of the boiler is attached to this document. Anti-corrosion measures are considered, due to chlorine content in biomass. Hydraulic and aerodynamic losses and dew point of the flue gas is calculated in the end.
Hot Water Grate Boiler

This thesis deals with design of hot water grate boiler, where the output is water with parameters 130 °C and pressure 16 bar. In the content of the whole thesis is gradually introduced a stoichiometric calculations, which is based on the specified fuel – wood chips. This is followed by the design of the individual heating surfaces according to the thermal calculations given in the thesis. Finally, the calculation is extended by hydraulic and aerodynamic losses. Dimensional design, as a basic scheme, is shown at thesis. More detailed drawing documentation is attached to this thesis.
