Geochemical methods in medieval archaeology: testing in the area of the deserted village Hol (Capital city of Prague)
Janovský, Martin ; Klír, Tomáš (advisor) ; Holata, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the application of geochemical methods in the area of the deserted village Hol with a focus on phosphate analysis. The goal of the research of the area was to define the relative differences in the geochemical composition of soil in individual parts of intravilan and fields and contribute to the knowledge about their economic utilization. The evolution of the phosphate analysis in the world and in the Czech Republic with the focus on the issue of application of different methods used mainly in the medieval locations constitutes a significant part of the thesis. Natural conditions and other external effects influencing the content of phosphate in the soil were taken into account. The macroscopic observations during the probe digging proved the absence of a strong humic horizon in a place, where gardens were originally assumed. This absence could point to the location of economic buildings. The bleaching of upper soil horizons in the area could be caused by previous human activity; this phenomenon is connected not only to natural conditions, which are not opportune, but also to the absence of medieval tillage. The content of P in the assumed gardens does not differ greatly. It is relatively high which could indicate the presence of previous economic buildings or...
Environmental modelling of landuse changes in the neighbourhood of coal mines with the GIS
Antalová, Daniela ; Matějíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Kopačková, Veronika (referee)
ENVIRONMENTAL MODELLING OF LAND USE CHANGES IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF COAL MINES WITH THE GIS Abstract Human society causes an increasing pressure on land and its use. The requirements and demands of humanity has significantly changed in the last few decades. This is the foundation of continuous environmental impacts, particularly in those areas where mining companies exploit natural resources on a large scale for personal and economic well-being, and thus significantly transform the land surface. The objective of this thesis is to refer to changes in land use in the vicinity of surface coal mines in the districts of Chomutov, Most, Teplice and Sokolov where these coal mines take up large areas. We do so with the help of remote-sensing-based documentation and GIS applications. Mining dramatically transforms the appearance of surrounding landscapes and has a high impact on the environment. The thesis shows the change of land use based on both the images from the Landsat satellite and the inclusion in basic Corine categories in which was created layer of land cover for 1990, 2000, 2006 and 2012, and further shows the ecological stability of the landscape from 1986 up to now. The evolution and changes of ecological stability are analyzed with the help of ecological coefficient, cluster analysis, linear...
Soil and terrain changes as a result of increased erosion and accumulation processes in selected locations
Votýpka, Jan ; Šefrna, Luděk (advisor) ; Zádorová, Tereza (referee)
Soil and terrain changes as a result of increased erosion and accumulation processes in selected locations Abstract Colluvial soils are formed in areas with increased intensity of soil erosion. Colluvial soils originate as a result of their position in terrain, they are usually found in places where has accumulated erosion material. Very often they are to be found at the around of slopes. Their accumulation horizon is deeper than 25 cm with a great amount of organic carbon buried in it. In my diploma thesis I will attempt to take a closer look at three locations, each having different types of dominant soils. The aim of this diploma thesis is to rebuild the original shape of the terrain before the beginning of the soil erosion process. Keywords: colluvial soil, soil erosion, soil accumulation, land use, digital terrain model (DTM)
Ontologies as an instrument for a design of data models of selected themes of the INSPIRE directive
Čerba, Otakar ; Čepek, Aleš (advisor) ; Rapant, Petr (referee) ; Feranec, Ján (referee)
It turns out that for most users of spatial data presents a harmonization of data (as an elimination of heterogeneity) as the greatest problem - a transformation their own data sets to the data specifications produced by the INSPIRE Directive so as not to limit current processes processing, management, sharing and presentation of data. Therefore, they need the widest possible description of spatial data, because it will only eliminate the problems of heterogeneity. The author of this Ph.D. thesis dealt with the opportunities which ontologies bring to the process of data modelling. The aim was to describe using ontologies the selected part (classification systems) of data models of spatial data themes "Land Cover" and "Land Use" which are defined in Annexes II and III of the INSPIRE directive. Developed ontologies serve as a source of information on classification systems. Their evaluation (so-called reasoning) will provide new information (relationships between taxonomy elements) that play an important role in the transformation process of classification systems as part of the harmonization of spatial data. Creating of ontologies consisted of three main steps - selection of appropriate methodology, development of a basic ontology structure and iterative process of populating and specification of...
Evaluation of suburbanization in Prague's hinterland - influence on landuse, landscape stability and structure.
Kubečková, Jana ; Kupková, Lucie (advisor) ; Štych, Přemysl (referee)
Evaluation of suburbanization in Prague's hinterland - influence on landuse, landscape stability and structure Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the background of suburbanization in Prague, to evaluate the development of landscape, landscape structure and landuse. The first part of this work is devoted to analysis of domestic and foreign literature, which deals with suburbanization and evaluation of landscape structure. Another part is devoted to practical evaluation of the landscape using air photos and satelite pictures and orthophotos in three cadastral in 1994, 2004 and 2007. It concerns the cadastral Šeberov, Hole u Průhonic and Újezd. The evaluations are based on selected factors. It is found that the proportion of buildings and vegetations is increasing all the time and also found that for example scrub and forests were protected from new development. Furthermore, the most significant changes in land use were described and the landscape structure was evaluated according to selected factors. The outputs of this work were maps of land use in different years, maps of stable und unstable areas in different periods, maps of vegetation changes and tables summarizing the results of the evaluation parameters of the structure. Keywords: suburbanization, landscape structure, landuse, patch,...
An analysis of land fund of Benešov district
Škorvagová, Jana ; Janků, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with the analysis of land in the district Benešov cadaster data. Work has drawn attention to changes in land use and landscape and point out the loss of farmland. Review of literature deals with land registry and its history, the definition of certain terms such as: landscape, soil and its functions, sustainable development, land resources, the built environment, suburbanization, brownfields etc. Attention is paid to the agricultural land resources and its protection, further breeding and valuation of agricultural land in the Czech Republic. The work is based on statistical yearbooks cadaster, also briefly describes the method of analysis that has been used, it is a regression analysis. Then there is briefly characterized district Benešov. It was followed the trend of development land fund for the period from 1966 to 2015. The results showed that the area of farmland, of which mainly arable land and orchards decrease over time and across the acreage of forest land, built-up areas and courtyards, other areas and water areas and gardens are growing process.
An analysis of land fund of Domažlice district
Hovorka, Jan ; Janků, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
This thesis analyzes the land in Domažlice. In this border region is experiencing significant changes in land use and thus to changes in the structure of the landscape. The work focuses mainly on the protection of soil and landscape structure in that region. It deals with not only trends in land, but the whole system of processes that changes in land fund raises. Therefore, it is also engaged in the wider context of spilling over into other areas. In the introductory section readers outlines the social significance of soil and land resources, but also the landscape and its structure. The following describes some of the processes that occur in the country, including their impact. The following section is devoted to real estate records (katastrům), their importance and fundamental historical changes in the register of real estate. He also records of agricultural land. Subsequently also describes factors that affect the status of the land fund of the Czech Republic, including state policy and the European Union. There is described a land market and the price of land in the Czech environment. The whole chapter is concluded by a brief description of the historical development until now. The literature search should provide an overall view of issues, including relations with adjoining areas. Another part is devoted to the identified region Domažlice. There are analyzed the conditions and diversity of this region and its historical development, because only with such knowledge can achieve an objective assessment of the issue. It also established a methodology for the job. Part of the results is devoted to the results of background and results of individual investigations, which are in the following section compared with current scientific knowledge and partly to the socially accepted attitude. The conclusion summarizes the results of this thesis and provided the achievement of hypotheses that have been identified in the introductory part. There are also problems outlined and possibly offered the best solution. Part of the annex is devoted to image the documents, which illustrate the text part.
Comparison of organic carbon stocks in soils with different land use
Rašková, Renáta ; Borůvka, Luboš (advisor) ; Tomáš, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to determine and compare the carbon stocks in selected locations. Three localities were selected in Vyškov region. In each locality four types of soil according to their use were examined - forest, arable land, grass land and urban soil. From each type of soil four samples were taken which were located 10 meters from each other. Samples were taken by soil auger from 0 to 40 cm depth in November 2015. All samples were dried, ground and sieved. Consequently humus content was determined in samples by the Tyurin method. From these results content and stocks of organic carbon were calculated in each locality and each type of land use and all results were compared with each other. Contribution of this thesis was to confirm or disprove hypothesis and to provide helpful information on Vyškov region. Hypothesis: The stock of carbon in forest soil is higher than in arable land. The stock of carbon in arable land is higher than in urban soils. The highest content of SOC was in forest soils and the highest stock of organic carbon was in arable land. Results show that the stock of carbon in soil is affected by land use and also by the way of management.
Developement (fragmentation) landscape using the example of the local part Trhové Sviny
MAREK, Miloslav
This bachelor thesis aims at the changes in the land use in the local part Trhové Sviny, which have been affecting local landscape since 1843 to the present. In cooperation with the Regional Office of the South Bohemian Region and town Trhové Sviny I ensured available data materials for the local part Trhové Sviny (historical and contemporary maps, aerial photographs and land-use planning documentation). Based on available data, I set five milestones in the development of the local part Trhové Sviny. I have assessed the long-term historical evolution local part Trhové Sviny on available data bases (old maps or aerial photographs). Values are calculated using ArcGIS 10 which shows representation of the different categories of land use. These categories are compared and evaluated over a time period of 170 years. It is here given to the relationship between land use changes due to the interference of human factors. It is also taken into account the natural possibilities and conditions of the monitored area, which determine the appearance of the landscape. Comparing the city plan Trhove Sviny of 1992 and its subsequent implementation of planned changes.
Brownfields and regional developement in the Czech republic and the Netherlands
Šrámková, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of brownfields in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. In this work the concept of brownfield in the context of the regional development is analysed and also approaches to brownfields revitalization in both countries are described and compared on the basis of a set of indicators. One of the proposed indicators compares prices of agricultural land in both countries. Furthermore, a policy for revitalization of brownfields in the Czech Republic is recommended, which is applied for redevelopment of brownfields in the Netherlands.
