Study of cesium hafnium chloride by methods of thermal analysis
Král, Robert ; Zemenová, Petra ; Bystřický, Aleš ; Vaněček, Vojtěch ; Kohoutková, M.
This work deals with the study of processes in cesium hafnium chloride (Cs2HfCl6) and its single crystal under thermal treatment by thermal analyses (different scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and thermomechanical analysis). Results showed thermal instability of Cs2HfCl6 and its significant decomposition to cesium and hafnium chloride above the eutectic temperature.
Silence
Šterbáková, Daniela ; Thein, Karel (advisor) ; Kolman, Vojtěch (referee) ; Fulka, Josef (referee)
Silence is a negative term denoting absence of sounds. However, our ordinary way of speaking about silence suggests that the latter is some perceptible reality, 'some- thing' perceived. But is it legitimate to say that we hear silence - absence of sound? What implications about perception does such a way of speaking have? The aim of the present thesis is to analyse these questions. The analysis unfolds along three axes. The first part of the thesis reconstructs the problem of perception of silence in John Cage's 'silent piece' 4'33" in context of its conceptual origin, Cage's aesthetics, and reflection of his work in his written texts. Hence the introduction of the problem of perceptible silence in recent thought. It discusses the thesis that we cannot hear absolute silence, not even in the soundproof chamber, and considers the question whether it is adequate to say that we can hear silence if we expect to hear music, but the music does not sound - a question that was raised by the premiere of 4'33". The second part of the thesis scrutinizes the position according to which we can directly hear/listen to silence which is the absence of sounds, namely the arguments of Roy Sorensen and Ian Phillips. Emphasis is put on Sorensen's theory since it is in direct contrast to Cage's position (though Sorensen...
Metabolic pathways involved in the regulation of bioactive cytokinin levels in plants
Žižková, Eva ; Motyka, Václav (advisor) ; Pernisová, Markéta (referee) ; Hoyerová, Klára (referee)
SummarySummarySummarySummary Cytokinins (CKs) are important group of plant hormones involved in a wide range of physiological and developmental processes. Endogenous levels of CKs as well as proportions of individual CK forms and derivatives are not constant and differ among plant species. The amounts of biological active CK forms (free bases and ribosides) are regulated through tangled machinery of metabolic conversions including biosynthesis, conjugation and degradation pathways. The main object of this thesis was to characterize the metabolic pathways involved in the regulation of bioactive CK levels in plants especially via CK biosynthesis with aspect to the environmental stimuli and via N- glucosylation pathway. It was shown, that light signal is an important input for modulating some CK-related genes and CK levels in Arabidopsis plants. The complex diurnal expression profiles of CK-biosynthetic genes (AtIPT1 - AtIPT9) in Arabidopsis plants indicated a strong dependence of AtIPT1 and AtIPT5 on light/dark phase in leaf rossetes. In contrast, no diurnal oscillation of AtIPT transcript levels was recorded in roots. Although the content of endogenous CKs was not constant in plants and varied during a day, no statistically significant correlation between light/dark cycle and oscillation in CK levels was...
Symbols in the Gospel of John
Košata, Václav ; Scarano, Angelo (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
The gospel of John contains measureless amount of symbolical expressions which help better understanding of better author's message to the readers and also set higher exegetical demands for deeper penetration into meanings of the symbols and relations between them. Symbolism in the gospel of John can be revealed in its expressions, characters, actions and the cross itself. The bachelor thesis analyses particular symbols, classify them into the thematic groups and explains their meanings. This goal is not possible achieve without consideration of their not only theological but also literary and socio-historical aspect. Majority of symbols like a light, darkness or bread can evoke many different meanings to the reader. This fact leads to the extreme situation like imagination of any possible meaning of the symbols. The thesis is searching for true meaning using secondary literature. Symbols are presented like a human medium for expressions of divine facts for easier grabbing for human. Keywords Symbol, Jesus, gospel, light, darkness, meaning, character, act

Nothing Around Us
Michálková, Kateřina ; Jezbera, Ladislav (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The work Nothing around us is based on reflection of the present. From the beginning it was clear that it will deal with the space. The space around us, the environment in which we live, our perception of the surrounding and our feelings from it. The surrounding world is one, but everyone perceive it in their own way because our ideas about the world are different. The Nothing that I wanted to show was always only apparent. Over time, I moved from general considerations of the functioning of the world to explore my own place in it. I focused on myself, on my own feelings and needs, perhaps for the first time in my work. Desire for solitude, peace, freedom from all around was the strongest one. To be somewhere, where I do not perceive anything around me, opens my inner space and allows me to explore happening in it Staying in absolute darkness reminds of already forgotten memories. Mind is able to create the illusion of nonexiatent light. I tried to transfer This state to the light installation in the former factory Mosilana in Brno.

Design of RNAV SID and STAR air routes for Brno-Tuřany airport
Zvolánek, Jiří ; Ing. Duka (referee) ; Vosecký, Slavomír (advisor)
The main content of this master’s thesis is design of RNAV SID and STAR routes for Brno Tuřany Airport. The study analyses usage of current conventional instrument arrivals and departures published for the aerodrome and describes its TMA. The new precision RNAV routes and the terminal area are designed based on the indentified information. A detailed construction of the chosen departure procedure is enclosed.
Automated verification of aircraft satellite antenna's targeting function
Hradílek, Ondřej ; Kohoutek, Michal (referee) ; Polsterová, Helena (advisor)
This diploma thesis provides an overview and basic principles of satellite communication systems. Further is description of specific aerial satellite communication system ARINC 791. The practical part includes proposals of the system for automated verification targeting functionality of an air satellite antenna, which has been carried out in Honeywell laboratory conditions. The selected implementation is realized and used for automated verification targeting functionality of an air satellite antenna. The results are graphically evaluated.
