Erotic in Chinese Art

My bachelor thesis's topic is depicting of erotica in Chinese visual art during the reign of Chinese last two dynasties. More space is rather dedicated to Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) in which mentioned erotic paintings and erotic literature originated. Thesis firstly introduces the topic and explains used terms, it means erotica and pornography. Thesis then describes prim confucian and opposite open taoist attitudes to erotica and sexuality because these two views are important as a background for my thesis. It also mentions taoist sexual manuals that could serve as models to Ming erotic albums. Thesis next presents erotica in Chinese visual art and society where this art arised. It describes Ming erotic paintings and prints, their purpose and main themes. It describes them also as Ming erotic literary works' illustrations. Finally it shows erotic paintings were popular not only in China at that time, but also in Japan and Korea. Thesis includes addendum with paintings.
Sun Simiao - life of an immortal

Sun Simiao - life of an immortal : Abstract This thesis studies the traditional perception on an important Chinese Tang dynasty physician and alchemist Sun Simiao 孫思邈 (581-682), which is examined on his biography from the tenth century Taoist collection of hagiographies Xuxianzhuan 續仙傳. The study begins through an analysis of the oldest available sources of the biography of Sun Simiao. This analysis can build upon the work of N. Sivin, summarize it, add some details if needed and approach it with a critical attitude. The study of Sun's biography focuses on the archetypal categories which were connected to him, such as recluses, masters of methods and immortals. First the structure of his biography is compared with the usual structure of biographies of exemplary officials. Then parts of the biography that correspond to each category are chosen. On their basis the extent to which the biography of Sun Simiao represents only a characterisation of the given category or truly reflects the real his real life, or at least what we know about his life from the available sources. In the end the later development of Sun Simiao's traditional Taoist perception is briefly outlined providing a broader perspective of the main subject. Isang Yun and his works for oboe

Isang Yun and his works for oboe is a title of this master thesis. It introduces a personality of a Korean composer Isang Yun and it focuses on his works for oboe. The first chapter contains resumé of principal moments of the composer´s life. The next chapter briefly touches characteristics of traditional Korean music, how the western culture is displayed in the Korean music, what is its influence on the Korean music and their inosculation into each other. The following chapter has an aim to introduce the biggest inspirational element in Yun´s life - the philospophy of Taoism. The fourth chapter describes a compositional style of Isang Yun in which elements of both different cultures combine in a unique way. In this chapter one fractional subchapter is also introduced where an insight into a few compositional techniques of the composer and an approach of audience to Yun´s music can be found. Final chapter contains analysis of eight compositions, which Isang Yun wrote for oboe Piri, Doppelkonzert for oboe and harp, Inventionen, Rondell, Images, Quartett for oboe and strings, Bläserquintett and Bläseroktett.
The role of Chinese diplomacy in contemporary international relations

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize Chinese diplomacy and its position in the area of International relations. Chosen theoretical basis from the area of diplomatic studies and the area of cultural analysis correspond with the main goal of the thesis. The paper is thematically divided into three chapters, where the first one is focused on the definition of theoretical basis from the area of cultural studies and on the analysis of Chinese foreign policy, the method of literary research and analysis is used here. In the second chapter, the value orientation and paradigmatic principles of Chinese society is specified. The third chapter comprises of the synthesis and of a case study that verifies its conclusion.
T'ai chi ch'uan and the art of handheld camera

Chinese martial art t'ai chi ch'uan emphasizes the skills of stability of the body, smoothness of movement and especially of walk. This thesis asks a question, whether the techniques of t'ai chi are usable in handheld camera work. In the introductory essay part the author subjectively interprets the elements of both Chinese thinking and the art of t'ai chi, to the degree he had opportunity to explore. In a enquiry among Czech documentary cameramen he tries to find links with the oriental praxis, and, finally, in the last part, he introduces a set of practices of t'ai chi, usable for camera work.

A practical part is inspired by organic forms of common crops. All together create an interactive and multifunctional convolute of ceramic objects.
Globalization in China and Its Influence on Behaviour and Attidues of Chinese People

The main objective of this work is to examine and evaluate real ongoing globalization process and its influence on behavior and attitudes of Chinese people. The next obtain is to familiarize with key aspects in the globalization process and to look at reverse side of globalization. The last chapter "China in the globalized world" closes the theoretical part. In the practical chapter,a research about the changes of Chinese behaviour and attidues after China has become involved in globalizacing process is provided based on the electronic questionnres among Chinese people.
