Person with visual impairment in the labor market and its socialization

The thesis focuses on the issue of person with visual impairment in the labor market and role of employment in the process of socialization of person with visual impairment. The thesis is divided into free chapters. The first chapter is devoted to characteristics of socialization, a description of development in adolescence and adulthood and socialization of visually impaired persons. The second chapter is devoted to education and employment persons with visual disabilities. The third charter comprises research part. The reseacrh part of the thesis contains description of the qualitative approach , brief characteristics of respondents and using analysis of interviews detect problem areas in employment of persons with visual disabilities. The thesis aims to map the difficulties, which the person with visual disabilities may encounter as a job applicant and describe the difficulties, which his or her may encounter in employment. It is also examinated, what is the role of employment in social life of person with visual impairment. Diffucult areas in the employment of persons with visual disabilities according to respondents are lack of information about the possibilities of employing visually impaired persons, in some cases, play a role prejudices of employers and their unwillingness to adapt the work...

This bachelor thesis is focused on the matters of social status and prospects of middle- class women, family and family relations concerning not only immediate relatives, but also distant ones, social life and the meaning of marriage from the point of view of women in the 19th century England and America. These themes are primarily explored in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Little Women and Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. Social Life in Rural Area

This submitted thesis concerns itself with social life in the countryside, specifically in Peruc, located in Ústecký kraj. The paper consists of two parts. The first, theoretical part, describes particular expressions, out of which some have been further researched and worked upon in the context of personal research. On the basis of available printed materials a description of the village has been drawn in a geographical, historical and contemporary aspect. The practical part provides a research plan and a choice of appropriate methods for research and data collection. An analysis of demographic indexes has been conducted and four semi-standardized interviews with the village and local organisations' representatives have been implemented for a better understanding of the social situation. Out of the spectrum of methods belonging to quantitative methodology, a survey type of research has been used to confirm or refute set hypotheses, which was followed by a discussion and a recommendation for the village and local organisations' leaders. Recommended suggestions could contribute to ameliorating social life in the village and therefore increasing general well-being and augmenting the village's grade. At the end the thesis has been shortly summarized, followed by a description of the most intriguing research findings.
Changes in social life of elder people

Diploma thesis "Changes in social life of elder people" focuses on social life development of elder people and which factors may affect it. The introduction contains theoretical concepts. The theoretical part is dedicated to concepts which are mentioned in the introduction. The first part describes life of elder people and also the old age itself. Next part is dedicated to an ageism and factors which might cause it. Last chapter in theoretical part is dedicated to social service especially the retirement home. The practical part contains the analysis of the interviews with elder people. The interviews were made by using qualitative research methods. The analysis is divided into parts including social life development in retirement age, the current social life of elder people and also the factors affecting social life. The aim of this thesis is to discover the changes of social life and also to compare the social life options of elder people living in retirement home and elder people living in their own home.
Everydayness of socialism in border regions demonstrated on the village Bedrichov in Jizera mountains.

The thesis deals with everydayness of socialism demonstrated on the selected village Bedrichov which is situated in the borderland between Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou, two important towns of the Liberec region. In the thesis, there is compared the crucial period of socialism (from 1948 to 1989) with the era before the World War II and with the time period after 1989. Oral history which is a specific form of qualitative research method is used for gathering information about world, people and their lives. The first section of the paper describes the theoretical concepts used for studying of everydayness, memories and border regions. In this part is also presented and analyzed the result of the existing research of everydayness in socialism. The main section of the thesis consists of my own research and is divided into individual topics which reflect everyday life as percepted by people living in Bedrichov.
Rehabilitation Former Jaselsky Barracks Area in Brno

The urban design for an area of former barracks Jaselská kasárna in Brno is based on an effort to create sustainable town structure, which allows a free movement of inhabitants through the area. The lot is well connected to the city centre and has a good accessibility to public transportation. More over it is situated in a rather quiet part of Brno. Designed houses are oriented parallel to Štefánikova and Staňkova street. The design is defined by two types of public space – square and park. Nursing home for elderly is situated on their edge. The residents of the home have the opportunity to visit both public spaces. Shops and services are within the walking distance. Due to its location in the center of the new dwelling resort, the elderly stay a part of society and they will not feel useless.
The influence of work and work activities on self concept mentally handicapped person

This thesis deals with the involvement of people with intellectual disabilities in a work activity, whether in employment or occupational therapy and the impact of this activity on their own self mentally handicapped person. The work is focused on the description of the circumstances that accompany the current issues of persons with intellectual disabilities and their integration into society as part of their participation in the labour market. Further, there is also prepared a theme of self-concept and its description in terms of humanistic psychology. The very aim of the research work is to determine what area of life of persons with intellectual disabilities is changed the most after their entry into employment or after the beginning of the execution of vocational rehabilitation. How these changes influence the self-identity of these persons. The research part will bring the survey of the most important areas of self-concept changes that individuals acquired after the entry into employment or occupational therapy.
Analysis of the Role of Social Activities in Local Development of Central Bohemia Region

The thesis deals with a separate analysis of the local development and the state of social activities. Closer examination focuses on the method of financing and support of local development and civil society initiatives in the Central Bohemian Region. In the Czech Republic are these initiatives defined best by the competition "Village of the Year" since 1995. The aim of this work is to assess the impact of civic initiatives in the local development and quality of life in selected communities. The results of the competition in the field of communities' social life are represented by both the current state and the information from directed interviews and surveys. These interviews were conducted with the representatives of the communities awarded for a community life. Contribution of the thesis will be to provide partial conclusions and recommendations concerning the potential development of rural communities with regard to the existence of civil initiatives, primarily in the Central Bohemian Region. Some general or cross-sectional findings can be applied to other regions in the Czech Republic.
