Acoustic analysis of poem recitation in patients with Parkinson's disease
Mucha, Ján ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Galáž, Zoltán (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on the acoustic analysis of poetry recitation in patients with Parkinson's disease. This disease is associated with speech disorder called hypokinetic dysarthria. One objective of this thesis was familiarization with process, symptoms and treatment of these diseases. In thesis is described preprocessing and parametrization of the speech signal and the binary classification methods. Subsequently, it is the above proposal modular system of auto-diagnosis of Parkinson's disease based on acoustic analysis of the speech. The proposed system is implemented in MATLAB. Classification of calculated parameters is realized using the method of Random forest and Support vector machine. The results of these methods are compared and listed in the thesis. The main objective and the result of this thesis is a system of automatic diagnosis of Parkinson's disease based on acoustic analysis of the poem recitation.
Logopedic defect analysis and recognition in speech utterances
Diviš, Jan ; Atassi, Hicham (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with logopaedia mistake called dyslalie and its characteristics. I described the process creation and representation of speech. There are presented bases of processing and analyses speech signal ( LPC, cepstral, MFCC). I presented characteristics of speech and calculation of LPC, cepstral and Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients in the programme MATLAB. The bachelor's thesis includes problems of incorrect pronunciation sound "r" and "ř".
Detection of speech disorders
Struhař, Michal ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with detection of speech disorders. One of the aims of this thesis is choosing suitable parameterization: short-time energy, zero-crossing rate, linear predictive analysis, perceptual linear predictive analysis, RASTA method, cepstral analysis and mel-frequency cepstral coefficient can be chosed for detections. Next aim is construction of detector of speech disorders based on DTW (Dynamic Time Warping) and artificial neuron network. Single detection proceeds on the base of collected tokens from chosen analysis and phonetic transcription of speech. Analyses, detector and phonetic transcription of Czech language are implemented in simulation environment of MATLAB.
Propaganda v mezinárodních vztazích: Případová studie rusko-ukrajinského konfliktu
Kadlecová, Veronika ; Kratochvíl, Petr (advisor) ; Cibulková, Petra (referee)
The thesis identifies and further examines the role of propaganda in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, more specifically in the period around the annexation of the Crimean peninsula by the Russian Federation in March 2014. Critical discourse analysis is employed in order to analyse selected speeches of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, relevant to the topic and in the period under investigation. The first chapter introduces a theoretical framework on propaganda in international relations, its definition, history and research. The methodology is described in detail in the second chapter. The historical context of the conflict is provided at the beginning of the empirical part of the thesis closely followed by a detailed analysis of the selected speeches. The findings support the prediction that there is a presence of propaganda identified within the speeches of both political leaders, thus in the conflict itself, and offer valuable insights into the hidden meanings and possible motives behind its use. The study advances our understanding of the phenomenon and helps us to expose and confront propaganda further.
Analysis of spectral changes in speech affected by orthodontic appliances
Přibil, Jiří ; Přibilová, Anna
This paper is focused at investigation of influence of the upper removable plate and the lower fixed orthodontic brackets and their combination on spectral properties of produced speech. Spectral changes were analyzed and evaluated by spectrograms and mean Welch’s periodograms. From obtained results follows that the removable orthodontic appliance mainly affects spectrograms of speech, and these changes are most significant in voiced parts of spectrograms – corresponding to vowels, voiced consonants etc.
Complex Cepstrum in Speech Synthesi
Vondra, Martin ; Vích, Robert
In the contribution the use of the complex cepstrum in speech modeling and synthesis is shortly described. The obtained mixed phase parametric speech model is of the finite impulse response type and contains also information about the phase properties of the modeled speech frame. The synthesized speech is more natural, but the memory requirements and numerical complexity are much higher than for minimum phase realization.
