Study of large trucks for road transport

This work is a study of large-scale trailer and semi-trailer units with a total length of 25.25 meters. It contains an overview and comparison of legislative requirements and transportation capacity. It introduces description of the various units, their specific features and estimate of the contribution of using these trucks to the traffic.

There is no need to wait for accidents applying observation of traffic conflicts and behaviour in Czech practice

Contrary to traditional reactive perspective based on traffic accident occurrence, evaluation using surrogate safety measures is preferred in a proactive safety approach. Traffic conflicts have been one of such indicators; to enable their use in Czech practice, Czech traffic conflict technique and guidelines were developed. The paper presents the study requested by road agency with objective of proving the feasibility of the guidelines. The case study assessed the risk at a newly-built rural intersection on motorway exit ramp before and after a change of road marking. Methodology, observation of traffic conflicts and behaviour, its findings and practical conclusions are reported.

Studium vlivu plynulosti silniční dopravy a rychlosti vozidel na emise tuhých znečišťujících látek vznikajících při provozu mobilních zdrojů znečišťování ovzduší

Prostřednictvím nově navržených emisních faktorů / emisních funkcí bude upřesněna metodika emisní inventury pro emise tuhých znečištujících látek (PM10, PM2.5, včetně otěrů brzd, pneumatik a povrchů vozovek) a dalších polutantů vznikajících při provozu silničních vozidel. Mikroskopický dopravní modelový nástroj AIMSUN bude rozšířen o emisní moduly tak, aby mohl optimalizovat dopravní situace s ohledem na minimalizaci emisí a hlukové zátěže. Rozšířený model bude experimentálně ověřen. Zpráva obsahuje souhrn výsledků za rok 2007
