The end of the primary school of J. A. Komensky in Písek

This Bachelor thesis focuses on the closing of the Jan Amos Komensky primary school in Písek. Six chapters describe the history of the Písek city, its education system, the establishment of an education institution in the Aleš square and important events that influenced the school from the beginning until the end of the 20th century. The thesis examines the reason behind the closing of the primary school J. A. Komensky but also describes the future of the school building which was rebuilt into a public library and into Písek´s center of education. This thesis mainly analyzes historical documents such as chronicles and official records.

A Great House for a Small Town

The main aim of this master thesis was to find a key usage of decaying girls' and boys' hall of residence on the premises of the ZŠ and ISŠ school in Rousínov, which is located in a complex of terraced family houses, situated 100 metres south from the town square and to integrate it with both school organism and town surroundings. The former hall of residence will provide space for student community center with public library and a new building of a single-storey house with arcade connecting the sport, cultural, catering and relaxing facilities and also Tyršova and Za Záložnou streets. The roof of the new building will become a school square with the view of the main dominant feature of the town – St. Mary Magdalena church. The access to the square is possible both from the arcade and newly reconstructed buildings and also from the elementary school building. The streets of a whole complex will be decorated with greenery, student gardens for fruit trees and crops and with a parking space for the visitors of library and other public places.

Public Library Services Focusing on Teenagers: An Analysis

The aim of this work is to analyze public library services focusing on teenagers. Theoretical part describes definition of a public library and its services and analysis of some services focusig on teenagers offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Practical part is devoted to analysis of history and the current situation of surveyed public libraries (in Tábor, Strakonice, Český Krumlov and Soběslav). There is also a research included in this section - it is questioning libraries which services they offer to teenagers or why they don't offer this services. This work presents analysis of the different sizes of Czech public libraries in services focused on teenagers and also summary of this services offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Cooperation public children libraries with kindergarten in Prague

(in English): The purpose of this Bachelor thesis is to define the structure of cooperation between children library and the kindergarten. This proces was examined from different kind of views, but primarily the proces is shown on one concrete cooperation between Munincipal library in Prague - Prosek and its children branch and kindergarten Novoborská.This final paper includes a case study focused on the kindergarten requirements concerning the librarian services provided by the library. The study is being made by using the method of quality research. The outcome of the thesis is to provide a design of marketing campaign for the Prosek's Munincipal library in Prague. The campaign is being made out using the information based on the case study combinated with the key literature focused on methods and recommendations how to work with preschool children, which can be found in the state educational program paper and IFLA guide for Children's library services. Other data used for creating the campaign are based on detailed analysis of the children library at the Munincipal library in Prague - Prosek.

The last chapter discusses regional function within the Highlands region and provides information about libraries authorized to perform regional functions. Marketing of public libraries in Pilsner and Carlsbad region : current state and new opportunities

Diploma thesis "Marketing of public libraries in Pilsen and Carlsbad region: current state and new opportunities" is dealing with actual marketing activities of four selected libraries from the mentioned area. Diploma thesis is divided into the two main parts - theoretical and practical part. In the first part, the theoretical knowledge of marketing is gathered and summarized. Furthermore, important marketing terms that are used in the following part of the thesis are described here. In the second part, the application of theoretical findings is made straight into the environment of four chosen libraries. Moreover, the current state is analyzed and the recognition of the strengths and weaknesses by means of SWOT analysis is performed. In conclusion, the evaluation of the recent situation of selected libraries and of the information gathered from their representatives is made and finally, recommendations regarding new marketing opportunities for the future are stated.

Library rules of the municipal libraries

(in English): The purpose of this diploma thesis deals with library rules (regulations) of Municipal Library of Prague, Jiři Mahen Library in Brno, Helsinki City Library and with a prefigurative library rules for public libraries available on National Library of Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to build a model rules structure based on the analysis of the mentioned library rules followed by the definition an optimal content of public library rules. This work further studies library rules of the Municipal Library of Prague for automated branch offices with a focus on their contentual and formal changes during the validity of the library rule in the period from April 20th 1998 to April 12th 2010. Finally, the thesis offers a brief interpretation remaining library rules. The result of the thesis is the contentual definition of the optimal library rules and its structure intended for public libraries.

Possibilities and limits of very small public libraries

The topic of this paper "Possibilities and limits of a very small public libraries" is a research and description of the role and irreplaceability of very small libraries in the Czech society. It consists of two main parts. The first part deals with general problems of definition and the second part is devoted to research aimed at a small public libraries users information needs and the possibilities of providing these services libraries. Essencial source of information is an analysis of a few selected libraries in Benešov area including public survey. The survey was done in questionnaire form. This work is about factors which are affecting possibilities of small libraries and it describe survey respondents.

The structure of the Municipal Library in Děčín and its services for users

All library departments, library services and library collection are described in the fourth part. The last chapter is about library's educational center and the construction of the new library building.

Reconstruction of the Municipal Authority in Radnice

This diploma thesis deals with the project documentation of the reconstruction of a mixed-use building in Radnice, which is designed as a four-floor. In the first floor are premises of a post office a pharmacy. The second and the third floor is designed for the management of the city and there is a public library in the fourth floor. The structural system is a cast-in-place concrete frame with the precast floor slabs and the gabled roof. The building is located in a terraced house on a square.
