Purpose at work. Motivations of Workers of Selected Low-threshold Facilities for Children and Youth Bc. Michaela Valentová Abstract Diploma thesis focuses on the experience of purposefulness of employees of low- threshold facilities for children and youth. In theoretical part low-threshold facilities are firstly conceptualized as a part of Czech organized civil society. Secondly, relevant theories of purpose are introduced. In empirical part, qualitative research is conducted by in-depth interviews with nine employees of two typical civil society organizations. Workers of low-threshold facilities for children and youth construct their purpose around four categories: helping clients, professionality, work ethics and self-development. Each of these categories brings specific consequences for their organizations. The theory expects purpose to be inspirational for others, however research participants do not reflect on the possibility to inspire their clients that way. This work suggests it is caused by workers' strong emphasis on professionality which creates borders in relationships between clients and workers and also limits the possibility to inspire one another with purpose. The functioning of collective authorities in the organizational structure of non-profit organizations
Pisárová, Tereza ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Šedivý, Marek (referee)
This Master's thesis deals with collective bodies in non-governmental non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part acquaints the reader with basic concepts such as non-profit organization and its possible legal forms in the Czech Republic, mission, fundraising, public relations, strategic planning and briefly introduces the collective bodies of foreign organizations. The practical part is then based on good practices of six organizations, whose representatives of collective bodies were willing to share their experiences. The organizations were selected on the basis of successful participation in the competition Non-Profit Organization of the Year, in which they were placed among the top three in their category (some of them even for several years). Among these organizations we can find one registered institute, two public benefit societies and three registered associations. Since these organizations aren't with the same legal form, their collective bodies are also different. During the description of good practices, it was found, however, that the degree of motivation with which the members of the collective bodies of the surveyed organizations commit themselves to their work and their active involvement in the operations of the organization does not differ. The thesis also...
A missionary dimension of the journey of Mary to Elisabeth (Luke 1:36-45)
Anderlová, Iveta Isabela ; Brož, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ryšková, Mireia (referee)
Missionary aspects of the Visitation of Virgin Mary to Elisabeth (Luke 1:36-45). This work deals with the pericope "Visitation of Elizabeth" in the Gospel of Luke as the precursor of Jesus' missionary journey through the earth into the Kingdom of God. First the exegetical issues of individual verses are described followed by commentaries and interpretative notes of several exegetes using various translations of the Sacred Scripture. Next subject is the journey, as described in Luke's gospel, as well as the missionary view of the journey of the Virgin Mary to visit his relative Elizabeth, as well as the life journey of every man which leads to the Kingdom of God, which is a theme of Jesus Christ's preaching on his way to Jerusalem (Gospel of Luke). The work attempts to capture the necessary features of missionaries that can be identified in the pericope of the Virgin Mary on the road to Elizabeth. Elizabeth herself, as the person to whom the Virgin Mary was sent as a missionary is also an important topic in this work. Elisabeth shows the task and mission of the missionary himself, not only to bring and show Christ to others, but also to enable him to whom he is sent to confess his faith and show his piety. Keywords Virgin Mary, Elisabeth, mission, journey, Jesus Christ, visitation, missionary
Collaboration and competition among nonprofit organizations working with migrants in Prague.
Pračke, Šimon ; Navrátil, Jiří (advisor) ; Muhič Dizdarevič, Selma (referee)
This thesis is focused on the relations of competition and cooperation between non-governmental non-profit organizations working with migrants in Prague. Based on interviews with representatives of these organizations and the study of documents, this thesis shows that classical theoretical approaches that deal with interorganizational relationships generally, i.e. those of profitable organizations in the market environment, ignore the specificity of non-profit organizations. Unlike profitable organizations, non-profit organizations primarily do not aim at profit but rather at the mission they were founded for. Classical theories do not reflect this dimension at all. The non-profit organizations working with migrants in Prague not only cooperate but this cooperation is motivated especially by their mission, although they are situated in a highly competitive position because they are situated in the same area, work with the same clients, offer similar services to these clients and are financed from the same sources. Keywords Collaboration, cooperation, competition, co-opetition, inter-organizational relationships, non-governmental non-profit organization, mission, identity
