Social protection of persons with disabilities My thesis treats social protection of persons with disabilities. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse the Czech and French legislation in the field of social security of person with disabilities. The thesis is composed of four sections. The first section which is divided into two chapters is dedicated to generalities - the first chapter gives a theoretic definition of the handicap and persons with disabilities. The second chapter investigates the protection of person with disabilities from the point of view of the international law and European Union's law that represent the foundation of the Czech and French legal system. The second section which is divided into five chapters analyses the Czech legal order. The third chapter provides an outline of Czech legal definition of relevant terms. The next chapter describes assessment of health, which is provided by Medical Assessment Service. The fifth chapter treats social insurance's and state social support's security benefits. The sixth chapter look at security benefits which are provided by the social assistance system. This work is devoted to problems of support systems of families with handicap children. The aim of this work is exploring the support systems of families with handicap children in the Czech Republic. (There is possibility to compare the region of Prague and Pardubice.) The theoretical part describes basic characterization of disability, it is intent on families who are take care of children with disability, it describes too social network and it also points out the common problems of the social care for individuals with handicap and possibilities of support goups. In order to achieve the aim of this work, it was necessary to obtain needful data. Therefore, a structured interview was used as one of the techniques of qualitative research. Among those who were interviewed were parents of handicap children. Because there are only twenty families in the research group of this diploma thesis it is not possible to generalize obtained information for all families with handicap children. The subject of this Master's Thesis is to present some legal aspects of employment of persons with disabilities. This thesis deals with the subject particularly with respect to national policy of employment and individual labour-law relations. The largest part of text is devoted to the efforts of the state to reach higher employment rate of persons with disabilities and to compensate their inherent handicaps. This thesis is divided into seven thematic parts. The introduction is followed by part that defines basic terms of employment of people with disabilities which are not legally defined. The issue concerns the terms which are regularly mistaken in common conversation such as disability and handicap. The third part contains an overview of the most important documents, of significant international organizations, which contain the definition of persons with disabilities. These most significant international organizations are the International Labour Organisation, the World Health Organization, the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union. The fourth part contains the definitions of person with disabilities according to five acts of Czech legislation. Title of thesis: Employment of persons with disabilities Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce Persons with disabilities are a vulnerable group of citizens, and not only in terms of employment. Finding their spot in the labor market is made difficult by their handicap and often by low or incomplete education. That is why legislation is in place to help them compensate for their initial disadvantage by raising them to the same level as the rest of job seekers. The goals of this thesis are to analyze and evaluate the current regulation of the employment of people with disabilities, and to research the practical side of this issue in the current labor market. The thesis tries to find out the forms of assistance offered to persons with disabilities and the actual employment options open to these persons. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter defines the basic terms. Particular attention is paid to the definition of a person with disabilities, both in the context of international and European law and within the Czech legal system. The second chapter deals in detail with the principle of equal treatment and non- discrimination in the context of labor law in general, as well as specifically related to persons with disabilities. Comparison of the social security system in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in relation to persons with disabilities

The thesis entitled "Comparison of the social security system in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in relation to persons with disabilities" focuses on a comparison of social security systems for persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic and in the Slovak Republic. The thesis, conceived as a theoretical study, is divided into six main chapters where two objectives were defined: ,,To describe the social security system of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia" and ,,To identify the differences in the systems of social security of people with disabilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia". Study and analysis of the documents and then comparison of the information gathered there of were used as the research methods. The chapter focusing on social security in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the years 1945 and 1992 describes, in particular, the gradual state paternalism in the field of social security and the passive position of the citizens in this system. In the context of the given topic, it was also important to determine that the social security system under the socialist government did not address the situation of the poor, the unemployed and particularly the persons with disabilities. The final part of this chapter outlines social reform after 1989, which on the one hand restored rights of the citizens and their responsibility for their lives and, on the other hand also defined and suggested solutions of non-existent social situations in the socialist period. An interesting finding that differences of opinion on the progress of the economy transformation and social reforms might have been one of the reasons that contributed to the dissolution of the Czechoslovak Federation was established. Chapters 3 and 4 describe the social security systems for PWD (person with disabilities) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The conditions for a disablement pension entitlement, method of assessing disablement, method of calculation, amount of a pension, etc. were described firstin each of these chapters. In addition, specific allowances for persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including the DID card, and finally social services for PWD, their types, providers, financing, quality assessment, etc. were outlined. Chapter 5 and sub-chapters compare disability pensions, allowances and social services in both countries. The comparison is based on the data included in Chapters 3 and 4 describing both of the social security schemes for PWD, on expert opinions and the author´s own experiences. The end of Chapter 5 emphasizes the main problems of both systems. Their solution was suggested. Chapter 6 summarizes the results of the comparison.

Development of employment of persons with disabilities Czech republic

The thesis is concerned with the issues related to the development of the system that helps the disabled people to integrate into the labour market in the Czech Republic using the theory of social construction of target groups. The aim of this thesis is to understand the development of the form of the observed policy that arises from the expected development of social construction of the chosen target group and its political power within a given period of time. To understand the problem and putting the topic was based on thematic analysis and study of the documents presented to readers of historical and social development status of persons with disabilities in society. Monitored period from the nineties to the present, which was divided into shorter periods. In these periods, the final policy design was identified by way of the interviews with addressed experts. The experts expressed their opinions also on the development of social construction and political power of the target group, which was supported by the study of the documents. Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Employment Relationships Abstract This thesis analyzes the current state of legal protection of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is not only passively interpret the existing statutes, but also propose some changes "de lege ferenda" that would lead to greater protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. The author does not attempt to provide a full-scale reasoning of the issue, but focuses on selected institutes of labor law and social security law in part, especially in the field of employment of persons with disabilities. The thesis is divided into seven chapters that logically follow each other and gradually reveal the specifics of protection of persons with disabilities in different parts of the legal system. Employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic

Approximately every tenth citizen in the Czech Republic suffers from a disability. Persons with disabilities form a vulnerable group in the labour market, which is caused mainly by a lower level of their education. Therefore, it is important that legislation protects the disabled persons and encourages employers to their employment. Employing of disabled people is in the interest of entire society and also has an integrative dimension. The main objective of this thesis is to assess comprehensively the legal regulation of the employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic, to reflect recent amendments to applicable legislation and simultaneously to verify the premise that these regulations are satisfactory and feasible in practice. The thesis consists of four parts. The first part focuses on the basic definitions and states in which aspects some similar terms are identical or different. Special attention is paid to the definition of a "disabled person" in all its major forms. The second part deals with international and European regulation, by which the Czech Republic is bound and with which the national legislation must be in accordance.
