Group of Percussion Instruments in National Theatre Orchestra – History and Present

In my master thesis I deal with the theme of History of group of percussion instruments in National Theatre Orchestra in Prague. In the introductory chapter I talk about the history of the orchestra and the history of the group of percussion instruments. In the next part I will mention the extension of the group of percussion instruments. I also mention the use of percussion instruments in stage music, the instrumentation and the location of the drums in the orchestra pit. In the fifth chapter I deal with the theme of the auditions, followed by the topic of out-of-service activities. The core part of my work are the biographies of the former and current members of the group of percussion instruments. In the attachment, I enclose several photographies that map the group’s activities and the table of players.

This master´s thesis deals with The Castle Guard Band of the Military Office of the President of the Republic which is part of the Prague Castle Guard since 1990. Starting with historical context, former and current command, up to particular members of the orchestra; employment of some alumnus of the basic military service included.
Profese dirigenta a jeho práce v rozličných typech orchestrů a ansámblů

Diplomová práce se zabývá profesí dirigenta a způsobem jeho práce s různými typy souborů. Rozmanitost a množství existujících hudebních útvarů, stejně jako specifika, které každý druh hudebního souboru tvoří, z něj činí bohatý předmět pro zkoumání. V prvních kapitolách se zaměřuji na různé definice role dirigenta a na funkce dirigenta, stejně jako na rozličné druhy hudebních souborů. To umožňuje odhalit odlišný přístup dirigenta a jeho práci s amatérskými či profesionálními hudebníky. Práce nejenom osvětlí náplň dirigentského řemesla, ale též vztahy dirigenta s hudebníky.

The purpose of this thesis is to research vocal and instrumental ensembles that are part of music department at Fr. Kmoch Primary school of Art in Kolin. To record their history, endeavours and the efforts of their conductors and choirmasters. For the sake of completeness I do also mention the graduates who went through these ensembles and then decided to study the music at high schools or at universities and also those who remain dedicated to orchestral and group performing even after finishing the primary school. Digital modeling of the orchestra sound

This report is guide along simulation of sound sources and orchestra. Basic physical characteristics necessary to the simulation of sound sources are described here. Description of the creation of directivity files in ODEON and theirs conversion from CATT-Acoustic to ODEON are described here too. Acquired directivity files were used for simulation of orchestra and for testing the directivity characteristics to room acoustics parameters.
Music as a public space - New concept of Brno Philharmonic

The locality is situated on the Veselá street in the historic centre near to Besední dům – the main seat of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. The site adjacent to the unfinished housing estates was chosen in a competition authority in 2003 primarily thanks to the position next to Besední dům. I tried to create a variant solution which could offer insight into the issue. The aim was to design a functional, operationally and economically less demanding object where the hall has excellent acoustics for classical orchestral music with a capacity of about 1000 visitors.
South Czech Philharmonic (former South Bohemian Philharmonic) Change of Management

The goal of bachelor thesis is to analyse changes after appointment of Otakar Svoboda as director of South Czech Philharmonic. The analysis is based on expert interviews with director Otakar Svoboda, marketing director Kateřina Kyselová and painter Jiří Votruba as well as on annual reports, yearbooks and organizational orders. Thesis summarize most important changes in the fields of marketing communication, organizational structure of management and dramaturgy.
Attendance at Classical Music Concerts by Young People

This thesis is analysing attendance at classical music concerts by young people. First, therefore theoretical part is about marketing and specifics of marketing in arts. Furthermore comparison of two Prague wellknown orchestras, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the PKF-Prague Philharmonia, and their financial and marketing situation is included. The second part which is practical is dedicated to the experiment of dependence of attandance at classical concerts on age, which was made by quantitative method, and the sample marketing plan of an organizer of such concerts focused on young poeple.
Marketing strategy of Berg Orchestra

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to create a base of marketing strategy of Berg Orchestra, because of focusing on new target group of younger audience. Theoretical part describes marketing of orchestras and specifics of marketing mix, then issues of segmentation, targeting and positioning. This part also focuses on marketing research, especially on quality research, which is used in practical part of this thesis. Practical part introduces Berg Orchestra, its aims, marketing and analysis through SWOT. Then it offers the quality research itself and in-depth interviews with nine respondents. At the end of this part there is an approximate framework of new marketing strategy with suggestions coming from the applied research.
