Expansion Module with MP3 Files Decoder for FITkit Platforma
Brada, Miroslav ; Bartoš, Pavel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Aim of this project is building of expansion module which expands capabilities of FITkit platform by allowing decoding of MP3 files. This thesis summarize knowledge about current audio encoding formats, available decoders and FITkit platform. Later part of thesis describes design procedure of expansion module for this platform, which was completed, although unsuccessfully. Module is using VS1063 codec. The end of thesis describes possible expansions in case of successful implementation.
Comparison of voice and audio codecs
Lúdik, Michal ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Míča, Ivan (advisor)
This thesis deals with description of human hearing, audio and speech codecs, description of objective measure of quality and practical comparison of codecs. Chapter about audio codecs consists of description of lossless codec FLAC and lossy codecs MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. In chapter about speech codecs is description of linear predictive coding and G.729 and OPUS codecs. Evaluation of quality consists of description of segmental signal-to- noise ratio and perceptual evaluation of quality – WSS and PESQ. Last chapter deals with description od practical part of this thesis, that is comparison of memory and time consumption of audio codecs and perceptual evaluation of speech codecs quality.
Audio Player Device for Automotive Environment
Gazdík, Marcel ; Bartoš, Pavel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses audio compression formats, such as MP3, AAC or OGG Vorbis. It also describes concept of a simple player module for current built-in autoradios, using SD or SDHC memories as a primary data source. And finally it concerns control software design and hardware realization.
Simulation of Audio Signal Distortion in Perceptual Audio Encoder
Peloušek, Tomáš ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of the creation of a programme that would simulate the distortion that appears during the process of lossy audio coding. As the environment for the creation, the MATLAB programming language has been chosen. An encoder, which changes the subjective signal quality according to customer preferences for the bitrate, has been created as a practical part of this thesis. Its function is based on a dynamic bit allocation technique and includes an optional window switching algorithm. The theoretical background for the creation of the programme consists of an explanation of the main principles of lossy coding with emphasis on MPEG1 layer 3 operating principles. The practical chapter describes how the created programme and its parts work, and it includes results of the run quality testing. The testing was conducted using the objective assessment method PEMO-Q, and consisted of comparing the objective quality of the programme’s outputs to the quality of samples on which a regular MP3 encoder with identical settings was used.
Home Multimedia Centre
Burkert, Michal ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation application, that should be equivalent to several eletronic devices such as DVD player or videotape recorder. Computer used for this purpose is often branded as Home Theater Personal Computer (HTPC). This thesis studies available multimedia libraries and software in operating system Linux, that is used to create designed application. It shows some similar existing application to create HTPC either commercial or opensource.
ID3 Tag Editor Employing Image Processing Methods
Sedlák, Marek ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis discusses the co-implementation of music tags editing and image processing methods for comfortable maintenance of album arts. The introduction deals with music distribution, different ways of storing and playing the music. Legality and peer-to-peer issue is also mentioned. Furthermore, the thesis deals with image transforming methods used in the application. A part of the work is the preparation, implementation and development of the application. The conclusion discusses future usage or extensions.
Podcast as a didactic aid of teacher
Khas, Miloslav ; Brdička, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Černochová, Miroslava (referee)
TITLE: Podcast as a didactic aid of teacher AUTHOR: Bc. Miloslav Khas DEPARTMENT: Department of Information & Technical Education SUPERVISOR: Ing. Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: Use of podcast as an educational medium is the principal and crucial topic of this thesis. The diploma thesis is focused on history and development of this phenomenon and points to the possibilities of podcast use at primary schools. The goal of this thesis is to show not only the advantages and benefit of the podcast for pupils and the teacher, but also to highlight the possible problems during its use and introduction. The theoretical part is dealing with aspects and podcast use at schools and provides an overview of existing researches. The other part is giving us an overview of existing solutions and good examples of practice at Czech schools and schools in abroad. The main part represents an experiment description including own solution proposal used at the primary school in Staňkov. This thesis can serve as a podcast guide for other possible interested persons striving for similar activities. KEYWORDS: Podcast, iPod, information and communication technology, MP3, sound, video, audio records, education, competence, school radio.
Audio codecs and their perceptual quality evaluation
Hudec, Andrej ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with audio codecs and tests to evaluate their listening quality. The thesis offers a description of the properties of human hearing, a brief introduction to the issues of audio coding, types of audio data compression and listening tests. The bachelor thesis also contains a theoretical description of the coding processes of selected audio codecs, evaluation of measuring their computational complexity and evaluation of listening quality of each of them using listening tests. HTML, CSS, Javascript and Python programming languages were used to implement the listening test environment. The audio files examined in the listening tests were obtained using the FFmpeg library.
