PROPOSAL FOR A METHODOLOGY FOR MANAGERIAL DECISION MAKING IN DISTRIBUTION IN THE EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT

Abstract At present, more and more demands are placed on the quality and the speed of transport of products and goods from manufacturers to suppliers and then to the end customer. This requires a lot of knowledge and experience in planning, purchasing, production and distribution. In all activities and at all levels of the organization, it is important to properly and timely to decide how to proceed in order to ensure maximum customer satisfaction at minimum cost to the company. To ensure speed and quality of distribution, it is necessary to focus on the logistics of circulatory systems. This includes both information and communication flow, and the supply, storage, transport, handling and packaging. To ensure all these services efficiently, quickly and on time, it is advisable that the company has to have developed appropriate methodology for the given process. The main aim of the doctoral thesis is to design a methodology for management decisions in the distribution area. Properly chosen methodology of distribution can help to speed up the movement of the product from the supplier to the customer or from the manufacturer to the customer, but ultimately to reduce the overall distribution costs. When deciding on the choice of distribution channel, processes and knowledge of European legislation in relation to the logistics and transport management in the Czech Republic are also important. The data collection and processing, under which the analysis of the current situation was carried out, were the bases for the methodology design. The basic criteria for selection of the companies that could make the distribution were set by another method. Subsequently, the weights of importance were assigned to the given criteria. In the final decision for the selection of the distribution company, methods of multi-criteria decision-making were used. The thesis was developed on the basis of theoretical research and practical experience in businesses in the solved area. Objectives to be achieved: The aim of the doctoral thesis is the methodology design of managerial decision making in the European distribution area.
The identification, analysis and problem solution proposals in the cooperation of the chosen organizations

The focus of this thesis is an identification and analysis of problems which have occurred till now in the cooperation between two chosen organizations, followed by problem solution proposals. Methodology of two sociologists Charles H. Kepner and Benjamin B. Tregoe will be used to undertake this analysis. The thesis is divided in two parts, theoretical and practical. The aim of the theoretical part is to define the various concepts that will be used in this work, such as the Kepner-Tregoe methodology or definition of a problem. The practical part is oriented on the analysis of the cooperation of the chosen organizations and the problems that have occurred with the use of the mentioned methodology. The purpose of the thesis is to propose possible solutions and chose the most appropriate.
Nové perspektivy uplatnění ICT v oblasti sledování a hodnocení vztahů zákazníka a poskytovatele v procesu obchodování

Dissertation thesis deals with new possibilities of information and communication technologies (ICT) using during watching and evaluating of consumer and his relation to provider. The consumer is thought to be every shopper, apart from the fact, if he is really consuming bought products or no. In contemporary economical environment the customer is a central point of interest of every market-behaving subjects, therefore it is necessary for businesses to attend to relation with customer watching, evaluating and management. In conjunction with rapid ICT development, new possibilities how to simplify some from these activities or to practice these activities fully automatically, are opening out for companies. Contemporary approaches to interaction monitoring of subjects participating in trading process and also current situation of its application in businesses, both in Czech Republic and in European Union, are mapped in this thesis. Analytical methods, to whose principles, properties and using possibilities are given here attention too, create the essence of entrepreneurial subjects and their clients relations monitoring. One of relation with customer watching and evaluating possibilities is determination of customer value, to which is fundamental part of the thesis addicted. The approaches to its determination, where reality reflection is not very evident, are briefly analyzed at first. On the basis of this limitation and with respect of real availability of required data, new model of customer value indicator determination was designed. What can be expected from this quantity and what are its advantages, is introduced in the thesis. Exact methods of its calculation and interpretation possibilities of acquired value including its integration into software system for managerial decision-making support are more detailed clarified here especially.
ANALYSIS AND DEFINITION OF DECISION PROBLEMS OF EXPERT IN REAL ESTATE VALUATION

The thesis deals with the decision-making of the expert in real estate valuation. Due to the complexity of the process and the difficulties of valuation it can be assumed that the decision will be an arduous process. It is obvious that the choice of an expert is crucial to the result of the valuation process. This topic is currently relatively little explored, and therefore the work will deal with the analysis and formulation of decision problems expert in real estate valuation. The thesis analyses the current status of forensic engineering and decision-making regarding to real estate valuation. The general decision-making process, divided into seven steps, is adapted to the requirements of expert decision-making in real estate valuation. As in the managerial decision-making process, property valuation is also divided into three levels. These three levels considered the described fundamental decision problems that lead to the formulation of the expert decision-making principles in real estate valuation. For better understanding the extensiveness of the decision-making process in the valuation of real estate the author created a decision tree respectively schemes whose functionality has been verified at the end of the thesis, exemplified with the help of a specific case study of the determined price in real estate valuation.
Application of management decisions in the financing of non-profit project

This thesis deals with issues of project financing in a non-profit sector. Using management decisions approach tries to contribute to finding a suitable portfolio of financing the Experience Pilsen! project. The goal is to identify, through the decision-making process, such possible solutions that lead to ensuring financial stability in the new project period. The thesis reviews the decision-making process from the analyzing the situation to the selection of the optimum variants. Analysis to determine the decision-making situation, consultations with experts and decision tree methods such as causal relations, the Six thinking hats method and other methods are used. Based on the gathered information a support resources portfolio is designed. It represents a set of optimal variants of solving the decision-making problem.

Explains the basic concepts and principles of decision analysis, as well as the structure and subjects of decision making. Rationality versus Irrationality in Managerial Decision Making

The thesis focuses on rationality in decisions by managers. The terms rationality, irrationality and bounded rationality are defined in the first part. The current state of knowledge on the concept of bounded rationality in decision making is then followed by a specific consideration of managerial decision making. The chosen bounded rationality effects, including heuristics, are also described. The purpose of the second part of this study is to examine experimentally the differential uses of heuristics among the students of the Faculty of Management relative to completion of the Managerial Decision Making course. The effect of time to use of heuristics is examined as well.
Use of Methods of Managerial Decision-Making in Introducing a new Product in the Market of Security Services

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the suitability of methods of managerial decision-making in practice. The thesis highlights the diversity of selected methods, particularly in relation to the use of discrete and continuous risk factors. The methods are applied to the case of the introduction of new product in the market of commercial security services. The thesis includes a complete strategic planning cycle based on the defined objectives of the organization, security agency SECURE. From the analytical part, including the analysis of the competitive environment 5F, through the creation of strategies, author proceeds to an implementation part which is the essence of the thesis. It is represented by managerial decision-making under risk and uncertainty, particularly decision matrix and the method of Monte Carlo. The conclusion contains evaluation and comparison of different methods and their contribution to practical use.
Multi-criteria evaluation of risky alternatives in area of mobile technologies

The master thesis deals with managerial decision-making, more specifically with the multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives under risk for the GAMACZ.CZ company, which currently solves problem of low profitability. The aim of the thesis is to define the decision-making objective(s), determine the set of evaluation criteria, identify potentially successful alternatives, determine their impacts and finally evaluate alternatives and recommend the most suitable one for the company. For the purpose of the multi-criteria evaluation with risk integration the author uses the Weighted Sum Approach. On the basis of these methods the most suitable option together with suggestions of implementation are proposed to the company and the reality check is executed.
