The GAP in Brno
Mojzesová, Šárka ; Hudeček, Vladimír (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the design of an apartment building whose primary function is to fill a gap in Brno in the town district of Černá Pole – specifically on the street Traubova. The area in question lies close to the historic centre. Although it is surrounded by two busy and noisy roads, the selected gap provides a quiet and private corner. At present, the property has mature greenery and a garden for an apartment building in the courtyard. The aim of this work is to effectively complete the missing house in the development, to build on the surrounding structures and to provide new housing in the city centre. The location has good amenities and perfect accessibility from which to draw. The proposal offers a purely accommodation function with additional space for expanding relations within the building's community and respects the proximity of the detached apartment building in the interior.
Visual tracking of multiple robots
Lechovský, Adam ; Barták, Roman (advisor) ; Obdržálek, David (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to create a program which detects a grid on a paper in a fixed webcam image, converts the grid into a graph and then tracks a group of Ozobots as they traverse the grid. Earlier works with Ozobots used them to investigate Multi-Agent Pathfinding. This work is the first in exploring their detection in image data. To achieve that, I am using the OpenCV library and the Java programming language. By training my own cascade for use in a Cascade Classifier from the objdetect OpenCV module, I was able to achieve a good rate of Ozobot detection in real time. The grid detection works by detecting lines on the color transitions in the image and their subsequent grouping into lines in the grid.
Short invertible elements in cyclotomic rings
Kroutil, Jaroslav ; Žemlička, Jan (advisor) ; Příhoda, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is based on an article about the criterion for invertibility of elements in special- chosen cyclotomic rings. In this thesis, we start with defining important terms and statements from algebra that we need. Then we will deal with the existence of infinitely many prime numbers which satisfy conditions that are used for irreducible decomposition of cyclotomic polynomials. Based on this polynomials we define cyclotomic rings and at the end of this thesis we prove invertibility of elements from this rings depending on the size of their norm.
Multimaterial structures preparation by using deposition methods
Novotná, Hana ; Čupera, Jan (referee) ; Řehořek, Lukáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with origin, structure and mechanical properties of architectured material. The theoretical part deals with composits and theory of architectured materials. Further, the cold spray technology is described and it is used to create the network of grooves in the architectured material. In the experimantal part the influence of groof geometry and profil on the mechanical properties of the resulting architectured material is researched. Microstructure and hardness of the samples were also examined.
MetaArchitecture

Pilgrimage church of St. John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora in Žďár nad Sázavou is a UNESCO heritage site. It is visited annually by 30 000 visitors and this number increases each year. Alas, the site does not have proper funding and care that would match the huge tourist attendance. My bachelor’s paper is focusing on topic of improving the conditions of this site for both employees and visitors. Program of my proposal consists of improving and prolonging the tourist experience at this site, using caffés, museums and/or lecture theatre. It is imperative for these improvements to take in mind the complex style and form of this site. The style is influenced by the way in which Santini designed the site using circles. I was inspired for my work by Santini’s grid of circles and contemporary architectural styles, such as architectural field and grid (P. Eisenmann), object oriented onthopogy, mereology (G.Retsin) or 2nd Digital Turn (mario Carpo). This allows us to create complex geometric architecture, which uses the fact, that it does not burden the area and environment after it’s been constructed. Parts of the complex are going to be raised from the Zelená Hora hill itself, so it appears to be a part of the hill.
Grid-based Online Multiplayer Strategy Game

Title: Grid-based Online Multiplayer Strategy Game Author: Michal Fibich Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: Mgr. Jakub Gemrot, Ph.D., Department of Software and Computer Science Education Abstract: Playing a massively multi-player on-line real-time strategy game is connected with expectation of playing with other players close to your position in the game. Some games of this kind have a very long life cycle where the progress of each player is persistent. A match can take months, even years to finish. However, every match is very dependent on the amount of participants which is not always ideal. Different seasons of the year can cause massive drops in the amount of players. There have already been attempts to incorporate an artificial intelligence to these matches, but the goal was to provide a win condi- tion instead of fighting a decreasing player base. That is why we have started developing a framework which includes the basic mechanics of the game and al- lows customization of basic game elements such as units, resources, buildings or entire nations. Part of the framework is an artificial intelligence which is capable of playing games created using the framework along with players. The problem was to find a proper behaviour for the artificial intelligence that...
Galaxy Generator for Games
Březina, Karel ; Kobrtek, Jozef (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on design and implementation of procedural generator of galaxy for games or simulations. Second goal is implementation of demonstration application which is showing possible usage of generator. Generator is able to create galaxy by predefined types or by user created map.
Grid representations of graphs and the chromatic number
Balko, Martin ; Valtr, Pavel (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (referee)
Grid Representations and the Chromatic Number Martin Balko August 2, 2012 Department: Department of Applied Mathematics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Pavel Valtr Dr. Supervisor's email address: valtr@kam.mff.cuni.cz Abstract In the thesis we study grid drawings of graphs and their connections with graph colorings. A grid drawing of a graph maps vertices to distinct points of the grid Zd and edges to line segments that avoid grid points representing other vertices. We show that a graph G is qd -colorable, d, q ≥ 2, if and only if there is a grid drawing of G in Zd in which no line segment intersects more than q grid points. Second, we study grid drawings with bounded number of columns, introducing some new NP- complete problems. We also show a sharp lower bound on the area of plane grid drawings of balanced complete k-partite graphs, proving a conjecture of David R. Wood. Finally, we show that any planar graph has a planar grid drawing where every line segment contains exactly two grid points. This result proves conjectures of D. Flores Pe˝naloza and F. J. Zaragoza Martinez. Keywords: graph representations, grid, chromatic number, plane
