Analysis of the way of the route through the sloping area of the D1 motorway in the SR
Horňáková, Lenka ; Horák, Vlastimil (referee) ; Horák, Vladislav (advisor)
The construction of motorways in Slovakia faces a series of geotechnical problems due to the mountainous relief. One of these problems is also discussed in this diploma thesis, where the motorway route is led through a landslide area. The aim of the thesis is to compare two different proposals of the D1 motorway in part of Hubova - Ivachnova section. The theoretical part deals with the issue of slope movements in connection with transport line constructions. In the practical part, the proposals for specific solutions of the high embankment route variant and variant with the bridge are discussed. Both variants are designed in the Plaxis numeric program. Subsequent comparison and evaluation of variants is performed in relation to the degree of stability, deformation, structural stress and construction costs.

The subject of my thesis is the exploration the landslide, landslide stabilization, design foundation and construct buildings in Brno Bystrc. Attention will be given to slopes safety factor and especially to design four-floor building construction.
Thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling in slope stability: advanced experiments and multiscale modelling
Loche, Marco ; Scaringi, Gianvito (advisor) ; Comegna, Luca (referee) ; Görüm, Tolga (referee)
The complexity of the thermo-hydro-mechanical processes in expansive clays is such that coupled models are needed to explain their behaviour under variable hydraulic, mechanic, and thermal conditions. The effects of temperature changes on the behaviour of bentonite are being studied, in particular, with respect to their role in the chemical and hydraulic insulation of radioactive waste. Results demonstrate that thermal effects can be significant. These effects can also occur owing to different processes, such as seasonal thermal variations in the shallow (possibly clay-rich) soil layers along mountain slopes. Very limited research in this field has shown that some landslides might be activated by thermal excursions. In the proposed project, experiments and modelling at various scales have been performed to better account for thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling and for the control of temperature on the shear strength, and hence on the stability of slopes. An extensive variety of geotechnical parameters are subjected to changes under thermal action. For instance, we need to mention the shear strength. To develop a more complete framework to account for temperature in slope stability analysis, a multi-scale approach has been defined to improve our understanding on how soil behaves under thermal changes....
Analysis of slope prone to sliding
Píchová, Sylvie ; Erbenová, Alexandra (referee) ; Paseka, Antonín (advisor)
The diploma thesis illustrates landslide investigation, geophysical and engineering-geological landslide survey and landslide stability reconnaissance. Static calculations based on FEM were performed in the GEO5 program. A back analysis of the landslide mathematical model was executed, which resulted in the reliability of the static landslide assessment. The complicated stabilization construction of the pile and micropile walls were optimized by mathematical modeling of successive phases of construction. The method of execution of construction work during the landslide rehabilitation was designed as well as the dimensions of reinforcing structures.
Landslides in shallow Neogene basins along the southwestern margin of the Carpathian Foredeep in Moravia
Brdečková, Helena ; Glisníková, Věra (referee) ; Hrubešová,, Eva (referee) ; Boštík, Jiří (advisor)
The Carpathian foredeep is a lengthwise depressed area in the Carpathian foreland. In Moravia, it is mainly filled with Neogene soils. The thesis focuses on the South Moravian landslides which occurred in shallow relicts of Neogene deposits along a foredeep margin which lie on the rocks of the Bohemian Massif. Landslide activity within these shallow basins is a result of a number of factors. In the theoretical part, important general features of landslide areas, their geological conditions and hydrogeological regime are investigated. Next, available data on the geomechanical behaviour of soils, often connected with these landslides, are summarized and evaluated. The case studies deal with the landslide localities Budkovice-Svízla, Brno-Bystrc and Znojmo. The case study of Budkovice-Svízla is based on an extensive engineering geological survey of the locality and the measurement of groundwater levels in the years 1988 – 2017. In the thesis, the hydrogeological regime of the area is analysed and a reconstruction of the ground surface before slope movement is carried out. The probable trigger mechanisms, the development of sliding and the efficiency of the executed remedies of the landslide are evaluated by numerical studies. In conclusion, general recommendations for an engineering-geological survey and building activities in the area of interest are formulated.

Stability analysis of landslide area
Píchová, Sylvie ; Erbenová, Alexandra (referee) ; Paseka, Antonín (advisor)
In the bachelor thesis is shown Zaruba & Mencl classification of landslide, site investigations and methods of static calculations using limit state equilibrium method. In the thesis is solved recent landslide in the profile II-II of site VIII in Brno Bystrc in Czech Republic.  In the paper work is explained how is made engineering geology and hydrogeology site investigation. Stability of recent landslide is made using back analysis of friction angle on the shear band in equilibrium state (FS=1)  of Pettersson strip method using programs Excell and Autocad. Its result is check using different Limite state methods in program GEO 5 of FINE company. Pettersson strip method using programs Excell and Autocad. In the next step  was checked degree of slope stability using Pettersson strip method using programs Excell and Autocad in the gradual lowering of water (landslide rescue method). The landslide rescue method was finally designed.
The possibility of issuing a warning against the landslide risk
Kirchner, Karel ; Kolejka, Jaromír ; Rapant, P. ; Batelková, Kateřina
The paper deals with the introduction of the procedure for evaluating landslide risk to the issuance of timely warnings to the mayors of potentially vulnerable areas. The procedure consists of preliminary evaluation phase followed by an operational phase after completion of activation conditions. The actual procedure consists of 9 basic steps and uses available data on geomorphology, geology, soils and land use.
Design of Landslide Remediation
Poruba, Michal ; Glisníková, Věra (referee) ; Boštík, Jiří (advisor)
Main goal of thesis entitled "Landslide remediation design" is - based on acquired knowledge and submitted documents about the problematic of landslides - to determine the causes of the landslides on II. class road between villages Koryčany and Jestřabice and to propose optimal redevelopment.
