Local Positioning System based on LoRa Devices
Holík, David ; Burian, František (referee) ; Arm, Jakub (advisor)
The work deals with wireless communication using LoRa (Long Range) technology categorized as LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network). The technology enables wireless data transmission over long distances more than 5 kilometers in urban or rural areas. The technology is used as the communication between ESP32-based devices providing their GPS data and time synchronization. The system also consists of Raspberry Pi which provides the central LoRa station for near area. It is running the LoRaWAN server called ChirpStack. The communication between central and peripheral devices was established using open-source libraries. Moreover, the communication with the public TTN network has been tested. Regarding the communication testing, test scenarios were designed, based on which the corresponding measurements were performed. The results were presented and evaluated.
Design of control electronics for an robotic lawnmower
Tichý, Dominik ; Sedlařík, Marek (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the issue of IoT and the smart devices used in it. The work is further devoted to Robots, with a great emphasis on mobile robots. It discusses the types of chassis and the types of guidance in space using both classical and heuristic methods. The work also discusses the methodology of the design of electrical devices in practice. The design of the intelligent mower and its individual blocks is described in the next part. Following that, it moves on to the implementation itself, where the individual steps of implementation are described. The last part is dedicated to programming and testing individual mower functions.
IoT LoRaWAN soil moisture and temperature sensor
Pánisz, Peter ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis was to develop software and design a protective cover for a development board that measures soil moisture, air temperature, and humidity. The project addressed the connection to a low-power wireless network for Internet of Things devices, through which the measured data was transmitted. The received data needed to be processed and decoded through various applications, which also require configuration. The measurement results can be graphically visualized in the form of charts on a public website accessible via the internet. For the administrator, a private address with additional information is available. The thesis also describes concepts such as application containerization, the selection of a suitable low-power network, and solving issues related to a dynamic public IPv4 address.
Comparison of operating systems for embedded devices with focus on effectivity and low power consumption
Kounický, Filip ; Paluřík, Pavel (referee) ; Mikulášek, Michal (advisor)
This bachleor thesis deals with an introduction to Internet of Things, embedded systems and embedded operating systems. Embedded operating systems are evaluated by custom metrics. The output of this work is the measurement of a model scenario on combinations of selected hardware platforms with compatible embedded operating systems in various low-power modes.
Cryptographic algorithms for low-power IoT devices
Oszelda, Matěj ; Dobiáš, Patrik (referee) ; Dzurenda, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis analyses the possibilities of application of operating systems, cryptographic libraries and their primitives in memory, performance and computationally constrained IoT environment. It then implements selected tools for securing communication in a system with constrained IoT devices. The theoretical part discusses the IoT, the different operating systems and cryptographic libraries in this environment. It then presents the measurement and comparison of cryptographic libraries and their primitives. Based on the measurements, it selects tools for implementation in securing the communication of IoT devices. It then creates a design and implements the system.
Extensible Rust Library for the Development of Embedded Sensor Applications on ESP32 Platform

System for User Configuration of Smart City Platform
Konečný, Marek ; John, Petr (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
With growing interest in the digitization of municipal administration, various solutions are emerging for unifying different IoT platforms into sustainable systems capable of visualizing various data and indicators for use by both administrators and citizens. One such solution is called Smart City, a platform developed by the Czech company Logimic, s.r.o., which provides, among other features, a web client allowing simultaneous access by multiple users. The aim of this thesis is to develop an extension of this application that enables it’s dynamic runtime configuration and customization, taking into account various challenges and their solutions inspired by popular web content management systems. The result primarily includes more sophisticated definition of configuration metamodels, as well as user-friendly configuration interfaces, but also a solution for user concurrency issues. This extension was implemented using web technologies TypeScript and Angular, upon which the current platform is built.
System for Automatic Heating Control in Holiday Homes
Ježek, Lukáš ; John, Petr (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis was to design and implement a system for controlling heating and water heating in buildings divided into multiple zones with multiple heating sources. Typically larger and older holiday homes such as farmhouses or larger cottages that do not have only one heat source, however, the system will also be applicable to newer buildings. This system can be controlled either remotely or locally. RaspberryPi 4B was chosen as the platform from the IoT sector. This system solves, for example, the integration of a fireplace insert into a heating circuit together with a boiler, combi boiler or other heat source. Of the existing solutions, none allow efficient use of multiple sources with zoning, or the solution is expensive and inefficient. Moreover, the system offers extensibility to other IoT circuits.
