Zajíčková, Jana ; Matoulek, Martin (advisor) ; Kytnarová, Jitka (referee)
Objective: LCD and VLCD diets are short-term indicated (days to weeks) low caloric and very low caloric diets, which should be supervised by a doctor - e. g. by means a weight loss hospitalization (WLH). LCD and VLCD diets are used in preoperative preparation of obese patients and to break insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM II). The theoretical part of the bachelor"s thesis is focused on LCD and VLCD in obesity and diabetes mellitus treatment - the two most common diseases that can be found in the medical history of patients indicated for WLH. The aim of the theoretical part is to compare obesity treatment in medical care and commercial weight loss programs (for commercial weight loss programs the term "obesity management" is used). The study evaluate the most common indications for WLH, determine weight changes during the hospitalization and compare the weight of patients with DM II and without DM II (nDM II) one year after the WLH. Methods: The input data were obtained from the Medea database. These are the anamnestic data of patients hospitalized for the purpose of losing weight on the Third Medical Department of First Faculty of Medicine Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague in the period of January 2014 - January 2015. There were 93 WLHs...

Bone densitometry
ŠÍRKOVÁ, Eliška
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) osteoporosis is defined as: "Increasing of systemic disease of skeleton. The characteristic feature is the lack of bone substance and disorders of microarchitecture of bone tissue. The result of the disorder is disposition to fractures. Earlier the disease was not diagnosed until it got to the stage of occurrence of osteoporotic fracture. Nowadays it is anticipated by means of BMD. Especially women at the age of postmenopause and older men are invited for the medical check-up. However, younger people and even children are invited too. The main indications for the BMD measurement are women who stopped a hormonal curing by using estrogen or they are at the age of postmenopause. It is also recommended for patients with increased occurence of fractures caused by small force and for patients who had a big weight loss. Last, but not least, it is good for men in their seventies, patients who are considering the pharmacological treatment and of course patients with visible effects of the treatment. The densitometry medical check-up itself, known as DEXA, is painless and non-invasive method, using which we can find comprehensive information about the amount of bone mineral in examined section of bone. The parts, where the density is measured, are the parts that are the most abraded. These are vertebrae L1 L4, distal antebrachium, proximal femur, ribs and proximal humerus. It is necessary to check BMD patients with the same apparatus and software during the each medical check-up. For the checking measurement the patients comes every year. Nevertheless, not later than after the two years after the first medical check-up. The purpose of the thesis is research including two main points: analysis of the data acquired from densitometric station of 'Nemocnice České Budějovice a.s. and omparison of the data of patients with a regard to age, sex and the kind of disease. Based on the research it was found out, that division of the patients into groups according to the diagnosis is not conforming. 95% of patients are suffering from various stages of osteoporosis. Only 5% of patients have different diagnosis. Based on the data from the research it was found out that there are ten-times more women who undertook the medical check-up. It is clear, why mainly women undertake the osteoporosis medical check-up. The sudden change of metabolism of bones, mostly related to climacteric, the end of treatment using estrogen, or lactation, is difficult situation and it is very stressful for the whole organism.

Plagiarism detection of text documents
Lízal, Radek ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis introduces the definition of plagiarism, distinguishes the types of plagiaries which often take place in praxis and the ways of determining the suspected texts. The means of detection are essential; therefore a whole chapter is dedicated to those. For the detection purposes, it is vital to pre-process the data to reduce the demand factor of the program. There is a preview of some programs which are already being used for the detection of plagiarism. The following chapter introduces some selected indications which have been implemented in the Matlab environment to create a detector of plagiaries in text documents. The created program is described in chapter eight. The applied indications and the detector response are described in a chapter called Indications testing. The testing proved the quality of these indications. The results together with pros and cons of the particular methods are discussed in the conclusion.

The Influence of Spa Treatment on the Person as a Biopsychosocial Unit
TREŠLOVÁ, Hana
The bachelor thesis deals with spa treatment of motion system and its influence on the person not only from the physical viewpoint but also from the psychosocial one. Although spa treatment specializes in specific diseases and during the therapy it mainly concentrates on the given problem, at present it is one of the few types of therapy, which has preserved a holistic approach to the person and treats both the physical and the mental aspect. This complex treatment is provided not only by the particular healing procedures, but also by the spa staff's approach to the patient, the good communication, the rest from everyday responsibilities and stress, meeting friends or making new friendships. Last but not least the beauty of the surrounding countryside and the local culture. The first part of the theoretical work describes spa treatment in general and the healing procedures in Bertiny lázně, it characterizes the diseases indicated for treatment and briefly describes their treatment both by physical means and by means of physiotherapy. The second part of theory deals with biopsychosocial viewpoint on the person and with spa treatment as holistic medicine. The aim of the practical part was to describe physiotherapeutic procedures and complex spa treatment in the interaction with biopsychosocial impact. The qualitative method of research in the form of interviews was used for processing. The research group was made of four chosen respondents with different diagnoses. Two of them were men and two were women at the age of 30 to 79. The research took place during physiotherapy, which was part of a three-week stay in Bertiny lázně, Třeboň. The respondents underwent case history, the entrance and the final kinesiological analysis, which was an objective evaluating parameter for gaining information about the degree of influence of the therapy on their physical condition. The entrance and the final kinesiological analysis included examination by aspection, palpation, auscultation, the examination of walk and a goniometric test. At the same time, the respondents underwent a final interview, which was chosen as a subjective evaluating parameter. Its aim was to gain information about the influence of spa treatment on their physical and psychosocial condition. During the interview I asked the patients basic questions, e.g. whether the pain had been relieved and the ability to move improved, how they felt mentally, whether and how the treatment had influenced their psychosocial condition. The interviews also took place during all the therapy and with their help I learnt more from the patients' lives. The gained information could help the therapy to be more effective. Also, at the beginning of therapy I created a short-term physiotherapeutic plan, which included various manual physiotherapeutic manoeuvres and exercise. Before finishing the therapy I created a long-term physiotherapeutic plan for the patients, in the form of individual movement regimen for improving or at least maintaining their current condition. On the basis of the gained results, a positive effect of spa treatment on both the physical and the psychosocial aspect was confirmed. The greatest influence of treatment on the physical condition was in the form of relieving the pain, improving the ability to move and energy recovery. The psychosocial condition was influenced by gaining motivation to start living a more active life style, meeting friends or making new friendships. The most commonly mentioned aspects, which had an impact on the psychosocial condition, was recreation, physiotherapeutic advice, active exercise and communication with other patients. The findings of this thesis can be used in the practice of physiotherapists in spas or for a higher awareness of students who practise lifelong education. They can also contribute to the present discussions about changing the reimbursement for spa care.
Problems of Indications Rides Emergency Medical Services
DVOŘÁK, Jiří
The bachelor thesis deals with the issues addressed at the dispatching center of the emergency medical service. The indication of actions by emergency medical service has been a topical issue in the debate on provision of pre-hospitalization emergency care. In 2012 the dispatching center for the South Bohemian region was centralized in České Budějovice. The center managing the operations has acquired a more comprehensive overview of positions and activities of all emergency medical crews. This has also changed the approach to crew deployment coordination. The dispatcher now coordinates crews in action in the entire region, being the only person responsible for the correct procedure. The most important aid used by the dispatcher is a list of indications which describes various situations and procedures to deal with them. However, the list includes only situations when the action by the emergency medical service is required. The list of indications is issued by the provider of the emergency medical service based on the Act No 374/2011 Coll., on emergency medical services, and the Decree 240/2012 Coll., implementing the act. The research was conducted at the emergency medical dispatching center in České Budějovice. A qualitative method of research was selected as the most appropriate. The respondents were employees of the emergency medical dispatching center who are in charge of coordination. A part of the respondents performed both the function of emergency calls receiving and the function of operative management of crews. Semi-structured interviews with 15 questions were conducted with the respondents. The questions focused both on receiving of emergency calls and operative management of crews and they concerned primarily the urgency levels N3 and N4. A substantial part of the interview concerned the list of indications and confrontation of formalized and intuitive procedures in decision.-making by the operators. During the interviews the respondents were asked additional questions to ensure maximum accuracy of the answers. Tables or diagrams were used for several questions to obtain some quantitative results in order to determine prevailing opinions or facts among the operators. It should be noted that the data are approximate and have low validity due to the low number of the respondents. The surveyed group consisted nine of operators of both genders, different ages and different lengths of experience in the health sector. The research has shown that the operators use alternative options in ca. 10% of cases. They are very well familiar with the issues of indication of actions by the emergency medical service. Differences in decision-making result from a greater or smaller willingness to be exposed to risks of forensic consequences. The issue of indication of actions by the emergency medical service keeps developing. The general efforts head towards maximum formalization of the procedures to relieve the operators from their legal liability. The thesis maps procedures used in the emergency medical dispatching center and it may be used as a study material for medical workers who need more information about the issue.
Effect of Spa Therapy on Quality of Life and Consumption of Drugs in Patients Aged 35-50 Years with Musculoskeletal Disease.
NOUZOVÁ, Jitka
This bachelor thesis titled ?The Effects of Spa Treatment on the Quality of Life and the Consumption of Drugs in Patients Aged 35 to 50 Years with Musculoskeletal Disease? deals, in the first chapters of the theoretical part, with the history and current status of balneology, individual spa treatments, and the importance of spa treatments in treating musculoskeletal diseases. The other chapters deal with health, the quality of life, its measurement and evaluation. Within the thesis, two goals were set: (a) to find out the effects of spa treatment on the quality of life and (b) to monitor the effects of spa treatment on the consumption of drugs in patients aged 35 to 50 years with musculoskeletal disease who were clients of Bertiny lázně in Třeboň. For fulfil the objectives of the thesis, the method interviewing was applied using standardized questionnaire SF-36 about the health related quality of life, which is suitable for finding out about the influence of spa therapy on the quality of life and health state of spa treatment clients. The respondents were examined prior their spa treatment, i.e. immediately after coming to Bertiny lázně in Třeboň, and then 3 months after the spa treatment, using the method of ?postal survey?. The results of this thesis show that the health state of patients with musculoskeletal disease improved after completing spa treatment, most distinctly in the domain of pain relief (30%) and in the vitality domain (26%). The consumption of drugs saw only minimal changes. Based on the results obtained, we can clearly say that spa treatment contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of patients with musculoskeletal disease and it also clearly points to the effectiveness of finance invested in balneology.
