Generating Faces with Generative Adversarial Networks
Face Identification on Android Platform
Karhánek, Martin ; Řezníček, Ivo (referee) ; Láník, Aleš (advisor)
This work describes ways to use a person identification based on faces on mobile devices with Android platform. A reader is introduced into a structure of this system and a way to create applications for it. Besides, there are also methods usable to the face identification. Some of these methods (used in an implementation) are described in more detail. This work also contains a description of model AAM (Active Appearance Model) for implementing in mobile devices and evaluation of used algorithms results.
Relationship between perceptual and structural variation of human faces: cross-cultural comparison
Pavlovič, Ondřej ; Kleisner, Karel (advisor) ; Třebický, Vít (referee) ; Marcinkowska, Urszula (referee)
ONDŘEJ PAVLOVIČ RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERCEPTUAL AND STRUCTURAL VARIATION OF HUMAN FACES: CROSS- CULTURAL COMPARISON ABSTRAKT The perception of facial features is a fundamental aspect of human culture, influencing daily interactions and relationships. This thesis explores the cross-cultural dynamics of facial perception. First, the theoretical introduction establishes the centrality of facial perception across cultures. Empirical studies included in this thesis elucidate the convergence and divergence of attractiveness standards among cultures. Additionally, this thesis explores the interplay between facial shape dimorphism, color dimorphism, and typicality across a wide variety of populations. The context of Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic offers a unique lens to study the impact of the sociocultural environment on facial perception and preferences. By analyzing attractiveness assessments provided by Czech Europeans, Czech Vietnamese, and Asian Vietnamese raters for Czech and Vietnamese faces, the studies included in this thesis further elucidate the convergence and divergence of attractiveness standards across these groups. The results of these studies underscore the role of facial averageness as a universally significant trait in attractiveness judgments. Studies added to the appendix explore...
Facial Aging Analysis
Hrabošová, Alžbeta ; Malinka, Kamil (referee) ; Goldmann, Tomáš (advisor)
Facial aging and age-related changes in facial dimensions are extremely relevant aspects in various fields dealing with facial reconstruction, forensic identification or aging prediction. The main objectives of this work were to analyze facial aging in terms of anthropometric characteristics, to evaluate the impact of aging on the face as a whole as well as on individual anthropometric ratios and to predict future facial growth. The analysis was based on the evaluation of the evolution of 10 facial ratios in 285 subjects aged 0,75 - 17,5 years. Aging in both sexes showed common features, such as pronounced changes associated with increases in facial width, nose, jaw, mouth, and distance between the outer and inner corners of the eyes at about 6 years of age. At the later age of up to 13 years, the face is still significantly elongated, while the changes in width are already minimal. These are mainly features such as the morphological height of the face, the height of the lower part of the face and the height of the nose. At the same time, we are able to predict the further development of anthropometric features from the input photograph.
The phenomenon of home and its importance for education
SOLDÁTOVÁ, Marta
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the importance and significance of the home phenomenon in terms of the education of the human individual. The work captures the development of views on this issue from the perspective of ancient, Czech and world philosophers. The philosophy of the home will be further discussed from the point of view of Patočka and Lévinas. The work will also try to offer some answers to some current questions of society, which relate to the home and its loss. The issue of education and care for the soul are also discussed.
Relating to another person in the ethics of E. Levinas
VOLFOVÁ, Adéla
The thesis is theoretically arranged and comprises two main chapters. It deals with an ethical concept of the relationship towards the Other person that is represented by a French philosopher of 20th century Emmanuel Levinas. The relationship between the Self and the Other is developed, in which the other person is always the primordial centre of my interest. The primary feature of Levinas´ ethics is to show it like the first philosophy. It is particular for him to understand metaphysics in a purely ethical concept. At Levinas, there is an event of a turn in ethics, when the current ontology, which is focused on a theoretical knowledge, is substituted by metaphysics. Morality is acknowledged as an essence of ethical relationship with the other person. This interpersonal relationship is always an asymmetric relationship and fundamentally ethical. Levinas´ ethics is the ethics of responsibility for the Other, in which is possible to approach the Other. The ethics deals with a concept of transcendence, Infinity, exteriority and interiority.
Cross-cultural perception of sexual dimorphism in human face
Fiala, Vojtěch ; Kleisner, Karel (advisor) ; Králík, Miroslav (referee) ; Lobmaier, Janek Simon (referee)
Evolutionary psychology supposes that human behaviour consists of adaptive tools, functional and mutually intertwined, that help an individual to survive and reproduce. Human proneness to ascribe psychological characteristics, based on an individual's facial features, may present such an adaptive tool. Facial sex-typicality, the individual representation of facial features regarding a given sex (male/female), affects other ascribed characteristics. Potential functional associations between sexually dimorphic facial structure, perceived sex-typicality, and physiological and behavioural correlates are the very topic of this thesis. Following theoretical background, there are three studies listed as 'Published studies' (Study 1-3). Study 4, the submitted manuscript, has not been peer-reviewed yet. Study 5, already published, is listed as 'Appendix'. Study 1 (Fiala et al., 2021) compares the effects of perceived 'sex-typicality' and measured sexual shape dimorphism on ratings of attractiveness across five distant countries. Rating participants and stimuli faces were always from the same country. Whilst perceived female femininity is preferred across cultures, analysis of preference of perceived male masculinity and both-sex measured sex-typicality reveals cross-cultural discrepancies. Study 2 (Fiala et...
