Milk can be described as a food that contains almost all the nutrients needed for life. The main component of milk is water and other components of milk include proteins, fats, carbohydrates. In smaller quantities also vitamins and minerals. With the advancement of modern technology, we are also offered new possibilities for the determination of individual parameters. These new methods are offer faster and it have more accurate results compared to the reference methods, which are for example the Kjeldahl method for protein, the Röse-Gottlieb method for fat and polarimetry for carbohydrates. Due to the deterioration in the dietary habits of an increasing proportion of the population, food fortification is being used to help maintain proper intake of essential nutrients and thus prevent various diseases. At the same time, new ways of preserving food are being developed that are more respectful of nature but also more beneficial to the consumer. These include, for example, edible packaging or treatment of raw materials other than by heat treatment.
Determination of plants of the Bromeliaceae family and their growing in the Botanical garden in Tábor

This diploma thesis deals with determining plants from the Bromeliaceae family in the Botanical Garden in Tábor. The collection of bromeliads in the original greenhouse has not yet been completely determined. Due to the overall reconstruction of the garden planned for 2024, the original greenhouse will also be reconstructed, and a new exhibition of plants of the Bromeliaceae family will be created here, in which their determination and proposal for cultivation according to the outputs of this diploma thesis will be applied. With the help of professional literature and articles, their determination, evaluation of their health status, and a proposal for improving the conditions for their cultivation in the newly reconstructed greenhouse of the Tábor Botanical Garden will be provided.
Aquinas and Suarez on Free Will

he diploma thesis deals with free will, mainly from a historical point of view, specifically from the point of view of Aquinas and Suárez. They are contrasted with Hobbes, who takes a completely different position. In this diploma thesis, it is mainly a comparison of the concepts of free will of Aquinas and Suárez. In the first chapter, free will is discussed in general, in the following chapter, various directions that deal with free will are listed. Other chapters are devoted to Aquinas, Suárez and Hobbes. In the last chapter, the opinions of these authors are compared.
Electoral geography of SPD

This thesis deals with the characteristic of electoral geography of the political movement Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the years 2017 and 2021, as well as its putting to the context with spatial distribution patterns of electoral results of ideologically closest political parties, which are the Dawn of Direct Democracy (Úsvit) in 2013 and Tricolour Freedomites Freeholders (TSS) in 2021. The analysis of these patterns is examined at the level of administrative divisions of municipalities, using the method of P. Jehlička and L. Sýkora. Then is used the analysis of determination of these electoral results with the social-economic character of the Czech electorate. Among the most important findings belongs the identification of high electoral support of SPD in the frontier areas, confirmation of common patterns of the 2017 results with the character of the Úsvit support and conversely its non-finding in the 2021 election with the TSS. There was also confirmed positive correlation of electoral support with the rate of unemployment, as well as with the rate of persons without secondary graduation.
Určování terestrických forem lakušníků (\kur{Ranunculus} sect. \kur{Batrachium})

Ranunculus sect. Batrachium is one of the most intricate groups of aquatic plants. Apart from typical submerged plants, they may grow also terrestrially and determination of the terrestrial forms is very difficult. The aim of this thesis was to establish whether the terrestrial forms of Ranunculus trichophyllus and Ranunculus peltatus differ in their morphology. The species were determined by flow cytometry and the morphological features were measured and analysed.
Morphological differences between the skulls of lions (Panthera leo) and tigers (Panthera tigris)

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate possibilities of morphological differentiation of skulls of lions (Panthera leo) and tigers (Panthera tigris) for the purposes of control authorities supervising a trade with endangered species protected by CITES. Tiger skeletons are one of the black markets highly lucrative and plentifully traded goods. Tiger skeletons might be easily exchanged for those of the lions, therefore their distinction is crucially needed for the control authorities. Therefore, a literature search on the morphological differences between the skulls of these two large felids with a focus on non-metric features was carried out. The results of the study show a possibility of distinction between lion and tiger skulls, though different identification features are shown among studied papers. Morphological differences and characteristics of individual subspecies or populations, as well as differences between the sexes and differences caused by specific conditions during ontogenetic development (such as captive breeding) are discussed. The results of the bachelor's thesis suggest a high reliability of species identification by simultaneous usage of multiple morphological characteristics of skulls. Voltammetric Determination of Psilocin and Psilocybin at Carbon-fiber PLA Electrode

Psilocin and psilocybin are two neuroactive drugs. They can be used in experimental treatment in psychiatry, moreover, also as illicit drugs to achieve hallucinations and relaxation. Easy access to these two alkaloids indicates that their monitoring in the environment and the body fluids is necessary. Electrochemistry offers fast, simple, and easy methods of their determination using laboratory-manufactured electrodes from 3D printed carbon-fiber polylactic materials. This technique of electrode fabrication can be characterized by many benefits, e.g., desired shape or diameter of the electrode, well-developed voltammetric signals, and low background currents.
Typology and teeth determination of selected mammalian species

In this bachelor's thesis I am dealing with mammalian teeth. I have focused mainly on the teeth of certain species that are endangered and for which significant levels of illegal trade have been recorded. In selecting the species I focus on, I base my thesis on the analysis of data from the EU-TWIX and CITES Trade Database, which is compiled at the Environmental Forensic Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. The most endangered species traded include felines, canids and ursids. In this thesis, I mention how teeth can be identified, what an ideal tooth should look like, I describe what a tooth is made of, why teeth are traded at all, what they are used for, and how individual teeth can be confused with other mammal species. I also mention the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species CITES. For this research I have largely used articles from abroad, available on the Web of science. Mercury Electrodes as Tools for Voltammetric Determination of Biologically Active Organic Compounds and for Detection of Their Interaction with DNA

The main aim of this work was to use traditional mercury electrodes for the development of voltammetric methods of determination of organic xenobiotics and for the electrochemical study of the interaction between double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and these compounds. In relation to my previous research work (conducted in the framework of my diploma thesis), firstly, 4-nitrobiphenyl (4-NBP), the suspected carcinogen, was studied. Interaction of DNA with 4-NBP was studied using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and chronocoulometry at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), and using CV and alternating current voltammetry at a DNA modified HMDE. Using CV, the reduction mechanism was investigated. The interaction of DNA with 4-aminobiphenyl (4-ABP), a metabolite of 4-NBP, and 4-NBP reduction intermediates was studied. It was found that the interaction of DNA with 4-NBP or 4-ABP results in a formation of a DNA aggregate with these analytes. The second studied analyte was methyl violet 2B (MV). Determination of Titanium and Phosphorus by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá optimalizací metod stanovení titanu a fosforu technikou atomové absorpční spektrometrie s plamenovou atomizací ve složení acetylen-oxid dusný. Pro jednotlivá stanovení byly experimentálně nalezeny optimální hodnoty pro průtokovou rychlost acetylenu, koncentraci přídavku hliníku či vápníku, výšku paprsku nad hranou hořáku a jiné faktory pro zvýšení analytického signálu. Za těchto experimentálně zjištěných podmínek bylo provedeno stanovení a zjištění základní charakteristiky metod u obou prvků. Významnost stanovení těchto dvou prvků souvisí s tím, že materiály na bázi titanu a oxidu titaničitého povrchově modifikované sloučeninami fosforu jsou perspektivní pro řadu biomedicínských i průmyslových aplikací.
