Influence of sensory deprivation on development of a child with a hearing impairment

Abstrackt The thesis Influence of sensory deprivation on development of a child with a hearing impairment is, as the name suggests, focused on stimulus effect subdeprivation / deprivation of a child with hearing impairment. The thesis is based on the parental views of the situation. The thesis is focused on finding situations in which the subdeprivation / deprivation occurs and searchs for their specific impacts on development of a child. Part of the thesis is also devoted to the issue of compensatory strategies that parents use in the management of risk subdeprivation / deprivation. On the basis of Czech and foreign literature it is defined there theoretically and practically in what the development of a child can be affected and in what may be the development of a child with hearing impairment specific. Attention is also paid to how the situation affects parental compensatory strategies. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the issue subdeprivation / deprivation in general. Further specifics of the situation of deprivation of a child with hearing impairment (specific early interaction, attachment) are considered. Pre reading and Early Literacy of Children with Hearing Handicaps

This bachelor thesis focuses on prereading and early literacy in children with hearing impairments. There are two parts, firstly a theortical part and secondly a practical part. The theoretical part provides definitions of literacy and looks at different approaches by various authors. This generally focuses on reading literacy, prereading and early literacy, and issues of children's reading. Next are outlined factors affecting prereading and early literacy, and early reading skills in children with hearing disabilities. The following chapter examines literacy and how it relates to the Curriculum Framework for Preschool Education. The Final section of the theoretical part is devoted to testing prereading and early literacy in both the Czech Republic and the international environment, not only for pupils with hearing disabilities, but also hearing pupils. The practical part is devoted to investigating research into prereading and the early literacy of children with hearing impairment in nursery schools for the deaf in the Czech Republic; focusing on their final year before entering elementary school. Inclusion and integration of children with hearing impairment in mainstream primary schools - developments the situation in the Czech Republic in the last 30 years

(in English) The bachelor thesis consits of a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part development of school integration and inclusion in the Czech Republic during the last thirty years based on academic literature and legislation is described. It focuses on children with hearing impairment. It also includes a short description of a situation abroad and a comparison between the Czech Republic and Sweden. In the practical part development of school integration and inclusion based on interviews with people of different age who have hearing impairment and their own experience with integration and inclusion at a common elementary school is researched.

TITLE: Forms and procedures for implementation of the education of hearing disabled children and pupils AUTHOR: Lenka Soukupová, DiS. DEPARTMENT: Special Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Eva Mrkosová, CSc. ABSTRACT: In my work I have focused on the problems of hearing-impaired children and methods which are used in their education. In the theoretical part I try to describe speech education of hearing impaired children - how the mother of the deaf child should communicate and stimulate him to communicate. Then I speak about communication systems using by hearing-impaired people. Afterwards I describe the educational opportunities of children with hearing impairments, primarily I mention institution which are assisting parents with a child with hearing disabilities- they work with them since birth and inform them about other learning opportunities. In the next chapter I present forms of special education of students with disabilities. In the practical part I concerned with how teachers work with hearing impaired children, what methods of work they use in the classroom use and how children respond to them. Newborn screening and further care of a child with hearing disability and its family - description of current situation in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to describe the institutional mechanism by which parents whose children were by neonatal screening suspected as a hearing impaired are currently experiencing. The theoretical part focuses on neonatal hearing screening, its appearance in the Czech Republic and abroad, its history, legislative etc. There are also described possible ways of follow-up care for a child with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. The practical part is based on interviews with medical staff who performs neonatal hearing screening and mothers of hearing impaired children. The aim was to see how, in practice, works neonatal hearing screening, and also the experiences of parents of hearing impaired children with screening and the care for their child that came after.
