Hydraulic properties of siphon and direct flow swirl turbine
Hudec, Martin ; Šulc, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
Non-stationary processes are associated with the operation of water machines. They are important for their reliable and safe operation. Prediction and modeling of such states using a 1D mathematical model verified on a model in the laboratory is an advantage. The work is focused on the description of a pair of transient states that are related to siphon turbines and their operation. Determination of critical flow values for inducing a suction effect and, conversely, calculation of the minimum size of the flow coefficient for safe stopping. The experiments were performed on a laboratory model and compared with operational data from a small hydroelectric power plant Želina.
Modal analysis of the swirl turbine runner
Valo, Lukáš ; Fic, Miloslav (referee) ; Čupr, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with modal analysis of the swirl turbine runner. The main aim was to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes of the turbine runner. Both detailed and simplified models of geometry of the turbine runner were analysed for two types of boundary conditions. The ANSYS program was used to carry out numerical simulations. Experimental measurement was realised to verify and to compare results of calculations.
The project of turbines for small water power plant
Dolinský, Filip ; Machů, Tomáš (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with usage of hydropower potential of river profile by small hydro powerplant, sollution by Archimedes and Swirl turbines is designed. In the first part, current status of hydro powerplants in Slovakia is described and obligations of the Slovak republic to the EU are analyzed. In the second part, basic division and knowledge about Screw and Swirl turbine are sumarized. The third chapter deals with design, calculations and comparison of different kinds of turbines. Most optimal sollution is analyzed, design parameters are elaborated and building cost and return of investment are calculated.
Influence of adjustable installations in the turbine draft tube on the characteristics and pressure pulsations
Šuráň, David ; Stareček, Jakub (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the draft tube and its optimization for various operating conditions. The research investigates the theoretical description and function of the draft tube and explains known methods of suppressing pressure pulsation so far. In the computational part, the author proposes a new method and designs optimal geometry of adjustable installations (ribs) for the draft tube. Finally, the comparison with the default geometry without ribs is performed.
The design of swirl turbines for small water power plant Vrchlabí
Vosáhlo, David ; Dobšáková, Lenka (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is the optimal design of swirl turbines for small water power plant. It is described a different possibilities of turbine‘s install for locality Vrchlabí. It presents a design of turbines and draft tubes. For the installation of turbines is computed theoretical production of annual electric energy. Furthermore it describes a design of supply channel and intake structure.
Swirl turbine design
Šperka, Oldřich ; Skoták, Aleš (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
The purpose of this diploma work is to predict the action of the swirl turbine in a siphonal configuration using the potential energy provided by the river Úpa near the city Jaroměř. The hydraulic predictions of the turbine impellor were based on calculation made using the CFD program Fluent. The measurement of the draft tube and the strength calculations of the turbine blade and spindle are based upon the theories, experiments and finally on the knowledge gained from the test models constructed. The results of this project can be used when considering the viability of a small hydraulic power plant.
Hydro power station design
Novák, Pavel ; Grepl, Robert (referee) ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (advisor)
This thesis deals with designing a small hydraulic power plant, where a swirl turbine is conected to a unique synchronous working, which will offer a reliable and easy installation of the hydraulic power plant. As a result a wider potential of energy could be produced from renewable resources. The use of a narrow rottor as a holder of the permanent magnets is the biggest difficulties of this design.
Adaptation of historical technical facility on the small hydroelectric power
Čermáková, Klára ; Sluše, Jan (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
Small hydroelectric power stations are the topic of this bachelor thesis which can be divided into three parts. The first one describes a history of utilising water energy, elementary types of hydropower projects, and classification of hydroelectric power stations. The second part is focused on small hydroelectric power stations. Finally the acquired knowledge is used in the last part describing the proposal of an adaptation of the water mill in Lomy to a small hydroelectric power station.
Reversible swirl turbine
Palička, Miroslav ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes hydraulic design of Swirl turbine, dedicated to be used for tidal powerplant and study possibilities of the turbine to work in turbine, reverse turbine, pump and reverse pump regime. From individual regimes, graphical characteristics of created hydraulic design were created and compared, using CFD simulations.
