Makal, Petr ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Mertl, Jiří (referee)
(in English) This thesis focuses on the quality and optimization of Telecare (emergency care) in the Czech Republic. In the first part, the author addresses the definition of Telecare (emergency care), associated risks, the provision of Telecare (emergency care) in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, the quality of social care, quality standards, methods of quality measurement and inspection, and the target group for emergency care. After the theoretical introduction, the author proceeds to the methodological part, where he attempts to acquaint the reader with the process of the service from the users' perspective. The research utilized a qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with nine participants - three social workers, three dispatchers, and three service users from the organization Anděl Strážný, z.ú. The research yielded several findings: a lack of awareness among healthcare and social workers, insufficient modernization of monitoring equipment, the absence of dispatcher visualization from the users' perspective, and a lack of standardization in both the emergency care itself and the monitoring devices. Addressing these shortcomings could lead to an improvement in the quality of services provided, their optimization, and a reduction in financial costs. In the final part, the...

Hainzová, Kateřina ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (referee)
The diploma thesis, "How does independent and hybrid informal care for seniors impact caregiving families?" examined informal care for seniors in households through independent care and hybrid care. The research questions for this work investigated how the impacts of informal care for seniors differ on caregiving families about the use of hybrid care and what differences exist in various aspects of caregivers' lives concerning the utilization of hybrid care. A comparative analysis was conducted to identify differences in the experience of both types of care and to determine if respondents' opinions align in certain areas. The aim was also to characterize the impacts of care on caregiving family members and to expand knowledge about the possibilities of caring for seniors. The research showed that hybrid care, which combines family support with professional assistance, positively impacts caregiving and reduces caregivers' psychological burdens. Furthermore, it was found that caregivers perceive hybrid care as suitable and prefer it over independent care. Intergenerational family relationships are strengthened but may be influenced by conflicts and emotions associated with caregiving.

Novotný, Petr ; Vilímek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Horák, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Nordic walking - analysis of senior walking Aims: This thesis aims to make a kinematic and kinetic analysis of gait and NW in elderly using Qualisys and Kistler. Afterwards, it also aims to compare the selected parameters with each other and, based on the results, to objectify the effect of NW on the gait of the elderly. Methods: The theoretical part of this thesis was processed using books and electronic sources obtained from online databases (PubMed, Medline, and Google Scholar). The research part was done in the form of an experiment. Fifteen women aged between 65 and 83 years (mean age 74) who regularly practiced Nordic walking under professional guidance participated in the research. These women were measured while walking and NW. A 3D kinematic analysis of walking and NW was performed using the Qualisys Motion Capture camera system. Ground reaction forces were measured using Kistler force plates placed in the captured kinematic analysis path. Data from these instruments was processed in Qualisys Track Manager and Microsoft Office Excel. Selected gait parameters that were analyzed included stride length, double-step length, gait speed, stride cadence, standing phase duration, lateral pelvic deviation, hip flexion and extension, knee joint flexion, dorsal and plantar flexion of the ankle...
Rohatec Special Regime Home
Molčanová, Viktorie ; Todorov, Petr (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The assignment of the thesis is to design a special care facility/home. The project of this facility is a direct response to the tornado-damaged S-Centrum building in Hodonín. Preceding this assignment is a pre-diploma project, which addresses a new building from an urbanistic perspective - analyses, integration into the surrounding development, and connection with the planned forest park. The area is ideally located on the outskirts of the municipality along a road leading to the city of Hodonín. An added advantage is its proximity to the forest, where terrain and garden improvements are planned, creating a new forest park with a lookout point. Due to the orientation of the plot to the north, there is the possibility of sunlight reaching the residential and communal areas from almost all sides. The shape of the building resembles the letter U, thus appearing open towards the forest. A park, vegetable gardens, pétanque, and seating areas are proposed between the building and the forest, while at the eastern end, it connects with the planned forest park via a gate. The connection with the building is from Nové řádky street, where the existing access to the plot is located, and the main entrance to the building is also oriented towards this street. Due to the height regulations in the municipality’s zoning plan (maximum 3 floors or 2 floors + attic), 3 floors with a basement are proposed, which is utilized for underground parking. The main goal of the design was to strengthen the capacities for providing social services in the special care facility/home, create a quality environment for patients and employees, and provide maximum integration with the surrounding nature.
Center for seniors in Brno-Medlánky
Minarčíková, Barbora ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor)
The task of the diploma thesis is to design a senior living facility in Brno – Medlánky. This task was preceded by a pre-diploma project within the subject NGA056 – Specialized project, developed in the previous semester, which consisted of preparing an urban study with a proposal for urban structure including transportation solutions and the placement of various functions - residential areas, commercial areas, public buildings, civic amenities, a sports hall, a church, and further development of the senior living facility. The architectural study focuses on creating a suitable environment for long-term stay for seniors, meaning comfortable living, outdoor relaxation areas, adequate technical infrastructure, and a variety of services. The design stems from the concept of a compact, clear, and barrier-free base space with social areas and facilities connecting three pavilions of housing units. This ensures privacy in the housing units while providing ample space for social interaction. Access to the terrain linked with a park located on the southern side of the plot is easy from both the base floor and the housing units, providing direct contact with greenery in outdoor spaces. The main entrance leading to the base on the first floor is designed with a representative atrium, reflecting the grandeur of the entire complex. Technical and operational facilities are expanded to cover the capacity of a potential additional fourth pavilion. The entire complex reflects the requirement for peaceful and high-standard living in old age, respecting contemporary architecture and the needs of today's population. As a result, it becomes a place for contented aging.
Rohatec Special Regime Home
Pašková, Štěpánka ; Maar, Radek (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to propose a study of a facility for a specialized care home. The starting point for the assignment is the development of a pre-diploma project that addresses a new facility from an urbanistic perspective – analyses, integration into the surrounding development, and connection with a planned forest park, commissioned by the municipality of Rohatec. The area is located on the outskirts of the municipality along the main road leading to the city of Hodonín, directly adjacent to forest lands where the municipality plans to establish a new forest park with a lookout point. The combination of the floor plan shape, resembling the letter M, and the orientation of the plot with respect to the cardinal directions, allows for ensuring adequate daylighting in all residential areas of the facility. Additionally, situating the facility on the northern boundary of the plot not only provides privacy for the residents when using the garden but also encourages them to take walks in the garden, thanks to the placement of continuous pathways commonly designed for specialized care homes for seniors with dementia. Other elements included in the garden are thoughtfully designed nooks for the clients' privacy during relaxation, as well as an outdoor gazebo with a fireplace, surrounded by a birch grove creating a pleasant and tranquil atmosphere. On the eastern side of the garden, there is a utility garden with specially designed raised beds and greenhouses for growing seasonal fruits and vegetables. The plot is accessible from Nové řádky street, where the main entrance to the building and access to the adjacent parking lot are located. Due to the height regulation of the development in the municipal zoning plan (maximum of 3 above-ground floors or 2 above-ground floors + an attic), three above-ground floors and one underground floor, designated for operational purposes, are proposed. The main goal of the proposal was to increase capacities for providing social services focused on specialized care homes, creating a quality environment not only for clients but also for employees, and maximizing integration with the surrounding nature.
