Regional Committee of The Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in Brno under the leadership of Otto Šling

This thesis deals with the regional functioning of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia at the regional level in the first years after the end of the Second World War, specifically the Regional Committee of the Communist Party in Brno, which at that time was headed by the regional secretary Otto Šling. He was arrested in October 1950 as an enemy of the party and the state. He then became the key figure in the political process with Rudolf Slánský, the Communist Party's general secretary. Otto Šling was a former interbrigadist in the civil war in Spain in the period from 1936 to 1939. During the Second World War, this communist politician of Jewish descent participated in the Czechoslovak anti-nazi resistance movement in the Great Britain. These facts certainly contributed to his arrest in 1950 and his later condemnation and execution in 1952. Otto Šling was one of the first senior officials of the Communist Party to be a target of the policy of seeking "class enemies" in the Communist movement in Czechoslovakia. The inhuman brutal investigation of his person led to the prosecution of the second man in the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Rudolf Slánský. The impact of territorial infrastructure development on the real estate market

The diploma thesis deals with how the influence of territorial infrastructure affects the real estate market in the border regions of the Czech republic, Poland and Germany. In the thesis are created databases about localities and realities, that are the outcomes of the data collection. Data collections mainly concerns the type of property, layout and the location of the property. From the data analysis is possible to evaluate the influence of territorial infrastructure in the context of average market values of real estates in the border region Czech Republic-Germany-Poland.

The impact of cross - border cooperation on the development of the region

The topic of diploma thesis is the impact of cross-border cooperation on the development of the region. This thesis is included theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part are specified terms as region, regional development, regional politics and cross-border cooperation. The practical part focuses on description of socioeconomic factors of the Moravian-Silesian Region and Silesian Region. This thesis contains also questionnaires. Furthermore are analysed socioeconomics impacts of these regions, which are provoked especially by cross-border cooperation and tourism. The last part of the thesis is verification of efficiency of cross-border cooperation on the investment purpose.

The diploma thesis is divided into two basic parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical overview and explanation of basic concepts related to the issue of regional development, regional politics and development strategies. The second practical part focuses on the characteristics of the South – Moravian Region and focuses on competitiveness issues, calculates on the basic of statistical variables and is supplemented by SWOT analysis and identification of impacts that have an impact on the proposed regional development.

This bachelor thesis deals with the investment activities in a municipality and mainly with its evaluation. There is the public administration in the Czech Republic described. It is accompanied with potential financial sources and the subsidy system of the Czech Republic and the European Union. The thesis briefly deals with the basic criteria for the evaluation of investment project. The second part of the thesis describes a specific municipality, analyses its current financial situation and its financial situation in the past three years. There is also a specific investment project described and its benefit assessed according to the time of payback.

Territory development strategy in relation to construction production

This diploma thesis deals with comparison of regions of the Czech Republic between national economy in terms of construction production and selection of region with the greatest potential for development of construction production. In the theoretical part is defined the term region, which is followed by regional economics and politics. Another topic addressed is regional development territorial development strategies and indicators that capture the differences between regions. The practical part deals with the characteristics of the national economy and construction in individual regions, which is folloved by a draft strategy dealing with problems in the field of construction. The last part of the thesis, regions are compared according to the given indicators and the regions with the greatest potential for the development of construction production are indentified.

Evaluation of the Qualitative Benefits of the Development Project co-financed by the EU

The first part of my work focuses on the theoretical description of EU regional policy, its evolution and the description and the objectives of the different programming periods. In this part of the work is also described which EU funds are being used for co-financing of different goals. Furthermore I define all operational programs which can be used to draw funds to provide grants. These information are necessarry to choose the right operational program to use. For the particular project co-financed from the European Union, I present an economic analysis of the project and a questionnaire survey which I use to do a qualitative assessment of the project and its help for the development of the region.
