Guilt in prophetic and social crisis literature

This thesis focuses on intricate and complex phenomenon of guilt. It does it by comparing two different approaches: approach of prophetic literature and social crisis literature. Both approaches are taught on Protestant Theological Faculty in Charles University of Prague but each of them is based on different presupposition. The first is theological, based on ancient thought of Israeli spiritual authorities, the second is modern, based on social work and it cooperates with psychology, sociology, anthropology but also theology and philosophy. Aim of this thesis is to enter the problematics and professional discussion about guilt through these two different approaches on the one hand and to compare and evaluate them on the other hand.
Guilt - the view of the theological ethics

This work examines from various points of view the role and signifikance of guilt within the history of humankind and a man, shows the traps and obstacles during its processing as well as the destructive consequences of the unprocessed guilt in life of every culpable human being and his/her relations with other people and the God. The first part is focused on its possible understanding and division within the framework of a certain philosophical thinking, first of all in the horizontal level of human relations. After the rational reflection of the subject of guilt and its systematical division within the philosophical thoughts follows up the vertical view of the faith upon the guilt as a sin in contributions of catholic theologists and the tradition of Magisterium in the following chapter. The third section, using a method of biblical exegesis, shows its effect and chances to overcome it with a help of God within the life stories of selected biblical characters of The Old and The New Testament. The last part of the work pays attention to the paradox of a "felix culpa" and the chances, that are offered to the culprits in the specific environment of a prison. This bachelor thesis focuses on the depiction of the psychological impacts of orphanhood and child neglect on the protagonists of The Lost Child and Wuthering Heights. The theoretical part introduces the two authors, Caryl Phillips and Emily Brontë, whose works are to be discussed, as well as it analyses the psychological research conducted on orphaned and neglected children. The practical part then offers an interpretation of the two novels with its relevance to the emotional instability evinced by orphaned and neglected children.
Reflection of relationships experiences by women in imprisonment

This diploma thesis makes use analytical methods of the Grounded theory to explore the theme "Reflection of relationship experiences by women in imprisonment". The goal of this thesis is qualitatively describing relationship experiences by women offenders of criminal activity and contribute to a deeper understanding of the psychosocial aspects of crime. Because the method of Grounded theory is chosen, which in a qualitative way makes it significant. Methods of data collection were chosen in the form of an interview and test method of the Thematic- apperceptive test. The research sample consists of five women, who are in the prison. Three levels of coding were used to analyze the interviews. The TAT analysis was followed by a qualitative method in the form of interpretation. The main topics covered include unsatisfied childhood relationships, rejection of guilt, the use of neutralizing techniques to maintain a positive self- image and passive role in life. Logotherapy Value in Teaching Pupils of Secundary School

The work deals with the psychological direction of logotherapy. The theoretical part introduces its origins, development and content, in the form logotherapeutic values. These values are elaborated in detail, so that they can be understood by pupils at the senior primary school. Furthermore, it summarizes the stage of development corresponding to the age group of pupils at the senior primary school with respect to both, physical and mental and also neological aspects. The practical part contains an implementation of logotherapeutic values in the education of pupils at the senior primary school in the General Educational Program of basic education. This includes the love, faith, hope, death, suffering and guilt, as understood by logotherapy, in the Ethics Education subject or in the cross-sectional topic of Personality and Social Education.
The Betrayal of Anne Frank

This thesis focuses on the story of Anne Frank, her friends and family and how they were reported to the authorities, which resulted in their imprisonment in concentration camps and eventually death. The thesis includes an analysis and summary of information on possible traitors. In the thesis introduction, I am presenting information about police inspection of the Frank's family and friend's case, which was done in several stages. The paper is divided into three parts. The intention of the first part is to explain the situation in the Netherlands during the World War II., for both Jewish and non-Jewish citizens. There are informations about the low survival rate of the Jews in the Netherlands and I am also posing a question if in this case we can speak of guilt or innocence of the entire Dutch nation at that time. In the second part, we will find details about Anne Frank's family, about their life in Germany and their escape to the Netherlands, about their life before the war and during the war, first free and later in hiding. The third part contains information about possible traitors, theories that have arisen around these names and the most recent point of view on those historical events. Guilt, Purification, Forgiveness

This bachelor thesis deals with the conceptions of Guilt, Purification and Forgiveness. Based on the study of the writings of Karl Jaspers, Božena Komárková, Martin Buber and Helmut Weber, the thesis comes to an understanding of the issues of guilt, forgiveness and purification in both philosophical and theological terms. Furthermore, this work introduces other issues that relate to the chosen topic, for example, the concepts of Repentance, Penance and Conversion. Thanks to the acquired findings, I want to come to an understanding of the concept of guilt in Bernhard Schlink's novel The Reader. Psychologic concept of guilt in the work of Karl T. Jaspers

The bachelor thesis describes the concept of guilt in the work of german psychologist and philosopher Karl T. Jaspers. The first part is dedicated to introducing Karl Jaspers as author and thinker, the second part will be elaborating on the context of his own thinking in he light of important thinkers who influenced him. The third part analyses in detail Jaspers's fundametal work The Question of German Guilt, while emphasizing moral and metaphysical guilt. The fourth part is dedicated to the issue of collective guilt and Jaspers's view of this matter and tho reactions of other authors. In the fifth part is developed the concept of conscience, which partly answers some of the questions raised in Jaspers's work.
