Analysis of Fingerprint Spoofs Made from Various Materials
Sláma, Vladimír ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of the work is production of fingerprint spoofs from various materials and develop- ment of algorithm, that analyzes them. Production of fingerprint spoofs is based on casting using printed circuit board (PCB) and other molds. For fingerprint spoofs these materials were used: Herkules, plasticine, Funny gummy, wax, Moody putty and liquid latex. For analysis of the differencies between spoof and the real fingerprint Harris detector was used and then the difference score is counted based on points of interests found. Results are compared with evaluation from VeriFinger software, that can measure matching score of two fingerprints. In most of the cases, the results have same trends when compared.
Visual Enhancement of Ultrasound Images
Vaňhara, Jaromír ; Kršek, Přemysl (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Ultrasound imaging is widely used in medical examination. However, the interpretation of images is not trivial and requires much experience. In this thesis, various techniques for enhancement of visual quality of ultrasound images are presented. Several basic and advanced methods that may simplify the visual diagnosis are described. Finally, an interactive application is designed and implemented for simple usage of presented methods.
Fingerprint biometry
Smékal, Ondřej ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
Algorithms designed for identification and verification persons by fingerprints recognition are spread and used as in forensics aplications as in private sector for a long time. The aim of this thesis is to make us aquainted with various aplicated mathematic models of fingerprint processing in digital way. Second task is the presentation algorithmic solution of chosen subject identification procedure by force of Fingerprint matching. Algorithm is solid in the development environment platform Matlab.
Face Recognition
Keršner, Martin ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
The thesis deals with Face Recognition. The aim was to study the various methods of feature extraction and determine their influence on the success of recognition. The methods of feature extraction include the Local Binary Pattern, Histogram Of Oriented Gradients and Gabor Filter. Face recognition of image similarity will be described. Support Vectore Machines was used in the experiments. Experimentally determined parameters of the most successful methods were used in the system for simple Face Recognition.
Experiments with Images of Eye Retina
Floryček, Jan ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Fiala, Jiří (advisor)
The layout of blood vessels in human eye retina is one of the important physiological biometric characteristics of every individual. The processing of color retinal images and extraction of the blood vessel structure is an important phase in diagnostics of many eye diseases as well as in gathering biometric data. An automatic method for image processing, extracting the blood vessel structure and saving a template for usage in a biometric system will be described in this bachelor thesis. The method was developed and tested on actual retinal images acquired by digital fundus camera and it was implemented in language C++ with the use of OpenCV library. This thesis also contains a brief introduction to biometrics, computer graphics and medicine.
Blood vessel segmentation in fundus images
Šťastný, Pavel ; Mézl, Martin (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
Segmentation blood vessel the local images of retinal is very important for evaluation and for diagnostics eye’s disease, especially diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. This bachelor’s thesis is deal with segmentation blood vessel by classification methods. I used gabor filtrer as a classifier. First was created filter bank and then using the convolution applicator pan the image. At the end I compared all information with gold standard. Average values from score for healthy images were sensitivity 0,8340, specificity 0,8709 and accuracy score 0,8663.
Extraction of Features from the Palm for Identification of Persons
Pricl, Patrik ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
The work deals with the identification of persons using the palm. The specific properties of the skin and blood vessels are used. The response of the skin and blood vessels to electromagnetic radiation is used to capture these properties. Gabor's filter is used to extract skin properties. The LLBP algorithm is used to extract the veins. It uses the Hamming distance, the Euclidean distance and the K-nearest neighbor algorithm to compare properties.
Editor for WSQ Format of Fingerprint Images for Demonstration
Németh, Patrik ; Rydlo, Štěpán (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an application suitable for demonstrating the individual steps of fingerprint analysis, and which is able to automatically process fingerprints stored in the most widely used formats for storing fingerprint imagery, such as WSQ, PNG and JPEG 2000. In this thesis special attention was given to automatic processing methods and analysis of fingerprint imagery. It also offers an overview of the WSQ format and of its comparison to JPEG 2000. The output of this work is a graphical application capable of demonstrating individual steps of widely used methods of fingerprint imagery processing and analysis. The application implements Gabor filtering, line thinning based on the Zhang-Suen method, and other methods of fingerprint processing. With some error, it is capable of detecting minutiae, singularities and the class of a fingerprint. Some of the processing parameters may be modified by the user via the graphical interface. Processed images can be exported in various image formats.

Biometric fingerprint identification
Dašek, Filip ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
In biometrics we use distinctive physical features for identification and verification of identity. The most famous technique is identification by fingerprints. This technique use unique structure created by papillary lines for unambiguous identification. Thesis contains methods which were created throughout the years for analysis and adjustments of fingerprint. The algorithm is based on compairng two pairs of minitua and calculating transform matrix for correct alignment. Algorithm is tested on dataset created from LivDet databases. Performance of algorithm is represented by value EER which is compared with EERs of other algorithms tested in FVC 2006.
