Diviš, Ondřej
The diploma thesis is devoted to the evaluation of the output parameters of electric cars. In the first part, they are described in detail individual construction solutions of electric cars and hybrid vehicles. Another section deals with the main advantages and disadvantages of individual construction solutions. Furthermore, they are outlined here possible development directions in the field of electromobility. The practical part of the work deals with the measurement of acceleration depending on time and the course of the increase in speed during acceleration in electric cars and vehicles with an internal combustion engine with an automatic transmission. The results showed that electric cars have better acceleration characteristics than vehicles with combustion engines with automatic transmission. In the case of electric vehicles, a linear increase in speed occurs, whereas in the case of internal combustion engine vehicles, an uneven increase in vehicle speed over time can be observed further during the reassignment of individual gears. As part of the evaluation of driving modes, it was also found that all vehicles achieved the best acceleration characteristics in the "Sport" mode.

Modal Split in Major Czech Cities: Thorough Analysis and Proposal of Policies Leading to Less Car-Dependent Urban Mobility
Bystřický, Vojtěch ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Šťastná, Lenka (referee)
This thesis focuses on examining the modal split in the five largest Czech cities. Using data from the first nationwide survey on travel behavior in the Czech Republic called Česko v pohybu, the author identifies the main factors which influence the mode choice of inhabitants of Czech cities. The data were evaluated using multinomial logistic regression. Since modal split studies of a large extent are mostly conducted in Western Europe, the United States or Asia-Pacific region, the main contribution of this thesis is to shed some light also on the travel behavior in the Central Europe, more precisely in the largest cities of the Czech Republic. The author analyzes the impact of socio-demographic variables, such as the respondents' age, education level or household income, as well as the importance of the variables related to the trip, such as trip purpose or trip distance. Further, the author also provides comparison of the travel behavior between the examined cities. Among other findings, the author finds that the entitlement to discounted public transport coupons through the ownership of a discount card does not have a significant effect on the probability of using public transport. Further, the results also show that higher education level does not lead to greater use of ecologically friendly...
Methods and technologies for carbon dioxide capture in industrial plants
Rek, David ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Sukačová, Kateřina (advisor)
The rising level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has negative effects on life on our planet. Humanity is now dealing with the issue through multinational organizations which attempt to motivate the current industry to develop innovative solutions to increase the energy-efficiency while lowering the amount of produced emissions. The most affected are energy-intensive sectors of the industry, such as the ceramics industry. This diploma thesis is based on a thorough research conducted on scientific literature, mainly scientific articles. The theoretical part is to familiarize one with the issue of rising levels of carbon dioxide. Next, methods to capture, store and use the gas are presented. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on one such method – microalgal bioreactors. The practical past weighs the usability of microalgal bioreactors for the purpose of carbon dioxide emissions capture in a production company LASSELSBERGER, s.r.o. belonging to the ceramic industry. Tubular bioreactor with a volume of 2000 m3 would process 3,75 % of CO2 produced by the core production machine – spray drier, during this process 367,92 tons of microalgal biomass would be produced annually.
