Thesis's Topic: The Activity Analysis of Rescue of Královehradecký kraj, station Trutnov 2006-2009 Aim of the thesis: To analyze the operation of the Emergeny Medical Service in Trutnov. Method: Research of available sources, data collection and the cooperation of the members of the Emergency Medical Service coming to the patient. Results: All here listed statistics data are base on intervetion documentation of Trutnov center. Therefore the presented results can't be taken, generalled to other centers and assumed that will be comparable. The experience of EMS workers in accessing patients in an unfavourable social situation

The diploma thesis deals with the experiences of emergency medical workers when going to patients in an unfavorable social situation. Medical rescue service according to Act No. 374/2011 Coll. on emergency medical services, should provide pre-hospital emergency care to patients in acute life-threatening conditions. Nevertheless, the crews of the ambulance service go to patients whose problems fall more into the social field. These patients do not primarily need medical intervention, yet rescuers in the field have to deal with these situations. The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out and compare the experience of rescuers when going to patients in an unfavorable social situation. Find out how rescuers experience and interpret these situations, what situations they encounter during these trips and how they understand the concept of an unfavorable social situation. The theoretical part of this work deals with the definition of basic concepts in the field of emergency medical services and social work. The empirical part is devoted to qualitative research. It contains a description of the research methodology, analysis of interviews with rescuers and their evaluation. Trauma readiness of emergency medical services in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic

BARNA, Alexander: Trauma readiness of emergency medical services in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic [Diploma thesis]. Zuzana Freitinger-Skalická, Ph.D. The main topic of this work was the introduction of the issue of trauma readiness of the emergency medical service in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the issue of emergency events with mass casualty incidents and the mapping of the knowledge and orientation of paramedical personnel in the emergency medical services. The diploma thesis is divided into two major parts - theory and research. The theoretical part introduces legislative norms, regulations and expert recommended procedures, based on which providers of emergency health services ensure their activity and crisis readiness, especially through crisis readiness workplaces. The chosen issue in the research part was the knowledge of the members of the emergency medical services groups solved by the quantitative method - a survey carried out by means of an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire, was prepared individually for the Czech Republic and for the Slovak Republic. From the results of the questionnaire survey it can be deduced that the knowledge of the members of the emergency medical service groups is sufficient, but there is still a need to incorporate the expertise and knowledge of the trauma readiness issues. Above all, finding deficiencies in knowledge, which are used to carry out rescue and liquidation work in dealing with emergency events, is particularly problematic.

Analysis of the scope and cooperation of the components of the integrated rescue system in the administrative district of the municipality with extended competence Český Krumlov.

The theme of this bachelor thesis "The Analysis of activity and cooperation of integrated rescue system in administrative district of the municipality with extended scope in Český Krumlov" was chosen due to the author's long-term professional interest. The author chose the theme and elaboration which could be beneficial to the current form of integrated rescue system in a specific location. In the theoretical part the thesis focuses on a search of literature and law regulations related to the integrated search system, it's coordination and documentation. In the end of this part are described individual components of the integrated rescue system. The thesis focuses on offering up a new knowledge about functionality of mentioned system, it's flexibility, weaknesses and strong sides. The thesis offers considerations about given issues and tries to come up with a new perspective on its principles. Particularly in a practical part of the thesis where are processed results of the research. The main goal of the research was an analysis of the scope and components cooperation of integrated rescue system in administrative district of the municipality with extended scope in Český Krumlov. For collecting analysis' results and for answering the research question was used qualitative research with open questions in half-structured conversations. Mentioned conversations were analysed and from collected analysed data was created SWOT analysis which was based on informative investigation. Within this analysis was compiled an overview of weak and strong sides of current system. Furthermore, were summarized potential opportunities and threats. Results are described in detail in chapter "Výsledky" and afterwards the chapter offers a discussion. The author believes that the main goal of the thesis named "The Analysis of activity and cooperation of integrated rescue system in administrative district of the municipality wit extended scope in Český Krumlov" accomplished its goal. The resolution of the main question is that the cooperation of integrated rescue system in administrative district of the municipality with extended scope in Český Krumlov and the use of all integrated components' abilities during solving an emergency incident proceeds accordingly to the valid legislation. The rescue integration system was evaluated with SWOT analysis. The resolution is that the pros outbalance the cons. The cooperation of individual integrated rescue system is ensured based on preparedness of units for intervention and permanent operability. The established and good cooperation of all components of the integrated rescue system is also ensured. This thesis may serve to individual components of integrated rescue system and to the community.

The qualifications of paramedics in the emregency medical service

The topic of this bachelor thesis is The Qualifications of Paramedics in the Emergency Medical Service. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the characteristics of the emergency medical services, with the focus on paramedics, the urgency levels of emergency calls and the integrated emergency system as a whole. Furthermore, this part explores the issue concerning the legislation of paramedics; primarily, the acquisition of required professional competences in comparison with the Slovak Republic. Lastly, the thesis summarizes the qualifications of paramedics, as well as of the paramedics who have already reached the level of professional expertise needed for the practice of emergency medicine. In the practical part of the thesis, two goals were selected. The first goal was to map the knowledge of qualifications of paramedics working for the South Bohemian emergency medical services (Zdravotnické záchranné služby Jihočeského kraje). The second goal then was to examine to which extent those qualifications were being followed. The qualitative method of data collection was used for the execution of this research. It was carried out in form of half-structured interviews that comprised of 20 questions. The sampled group consisted of 8 paramedics from the South Bohemian emergency medical services (Zdravotnické záchranné služby Jihočeského kraje). The outcome of this bachelor thesis is the overview of the knowledge of qualifications of paramedics working for the South Bohemian emergency medical services. It points out their minor lacks in education and awareness. The thesis could potentially be used as a source for the teaching of paramedics.

Specific tasks of Emergency Medical Dispatch centre when dealing with mass casualty.

The goal of this thesis was to analyze processes of the Emergency Medical Dispatch Center of the Emergency Medical Service of the Pilsen Region (ZOS ZZS Pk) when dealing with a mass casualty incident. The theoretical part of the thesis provides basic information relevant to the Pilsen Region, the Emergency Medical Service of the Pilsen Region, basic information on operations and general work processes of an emergency medical dispatch center during a normal work regime, and specific activities performed when dealing with a mass casualty incident. The research part of this thesis analyses activities and processes of an emergency medical dispatch center as described in the Mutual Mission Types Manual for Integrated Rescue System forces while at a mutual incident - Activities of Integrated Rescue System Forces at a Mass Casualty Incident (STČ 09/IZS). Further on the thesis evaluates activities of the ZOS ZZS Pk taken while dealing with two mass casualty incidents. These were a bus accident nearby Rokycany town in 2013 and a two trains collision nearby Horažďovice town in 2015. In order to make the analysis of readiness of the ZOS ZZS Pk to deal with mass casualty incidents more complex, SWOT analysis was added to the results. Based on the results of the STČ 09/IZS-manual analysis and of the SWOT analysis, suggestions for new manuals were made, that should make all the actions taken by employees of the ZOS ZZS Pk while dealing with a mass casualty incident more efficient and more effective. The goal of this thesis: to analyze activities of the ZOS ZZS Pk while dealing with a mass casualty incident, and to create suggestions of which inadequacies to remove and how to make operations of the ZOS ZZS Pk more efficient and more effective when dealing with mass casualty incidents; has therefore been fulfilled. The main outcome of the thesis are the final recommendations for making operations of the ZOS ZZS Pk more efficient and more effective when dealing with a mass casualty incident.

Elementary and middle school students and teacher's knowledge of first aid

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid provision. The theoretical part defines first aid and describes its types. Subsequent chapters focus on first aid legislation, organisation of the Emergency Medical Service, and available tools for first aid provision. Further follows description of selected basic conditions and associated first aid. Next two chapters deal with first aid education of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools. Last chapter describes the possibility of cooperation with The Czech Red Cross and the Emergency Medical Service, who provide first aid training for schools and public. The practical part consists of qualitative research. Semi-structured interviews with teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in The Vysočina Region were used. In the elementary school the interview was lead with students of the ninth grade and their teachers. In the secondary school the interview was lead with students of the third year and their students. The interviews contained 22 questions focused on the knowledge of first aid and on the issue of first aid education. The interviews are transcribed in the practical part and the answers are also processed in tables for clarity. The conducted research survey showed that knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid is not sufficient and therefore it would be appropriate to include first aid courses in curriculum of each grade/year and also to provide courses for teachers.

The role of emergency medical services in the incident with mass health disabilities

Medical rescue workers are routinely employed in emergency medicine. In emergencies where a large number of people are affected, knowledge of medical disaster practices is necessary. Within a second, the intervening crews should switch to another mode with a different approach to the patients than they use daily. The diploma thesis has set the following goals: to map the level of knowledge of medical rescuers in the field of emergency response with mass health impairment, their personal experience and, last but not least, education and training. Three research questions were asked to reach these objectives. What are the skills of medical rescuers in dealing with emergency health issues with mass health impairment? How do medical rescuers assess incidents with mass health impairment at which they were present and what is their attitude towards training and education in the field of dealing with emergencies with mass health impairment? The research part consists of interviews with two groups of participants: eight medical rescuers of the Medical Rescue Service of the Pardubice Region and the same number of medical rescuers of the Medical Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region. These interviews supplemented the information provided by the crisis preparedness managers of both medical rescue services. The survey used a qualitative research strategy, conversations were recorded on a dictaphone, then processed into categories, subcategories, tables and evaluated. From the results of the work, a great difference in the knowledge of health rescuers in the field of emergency health problems can be seen. Participants of the South Bohemian Medical Emergency Rescue Service showed shortcomings in both the basic terminology and the solving of extraordinary events in particular, from reporting the situation with a report form to the classification of the disabled. On the contrary, the majority of participants in the Paramedical Rescue Service of the Pardubice Region would be able to file an initial emergency report and categorize and transport patients correctly. On the basis of the evaluated results, this difference in knowledge can be attributed mainly to the frequency and content of the training provided. In the case of South Bohemian participants, we can find the cause in the absence of practical training. The alarming results were noted in the participants' ability to use the START sorting method, from all of the sixteen respondents only one was able to answer there. The elaborated case report of an extraordinary event points to the fact that theoretical shortcomings can subsequently be transferred into practice.

Emergency care

This thesis deals with the Paramedic system. That means system where the prehospital emergency care is provided by emergency medical services (hereinafter referred to as "EMS") without the presence of a doctor. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether EMS employees are theoretically ready to upgrade to this system. Another aim of this thesis was to determine whether the workers themselves are interested in this system. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with the competence of paramedical staff in an EMS and CR legislation, particularly laws and regulations affecting the immediate area of healthcare delivery. I listed examples of countries, whether European or overseas, where "Paramedic system" works for many years. Then I mentioned my ideas about the economic factors of working "Paramedic system" in these countries. At the end of this thesis I asked from my perspective a very interesting question: "Would be Czech citizens willing to accept this type of care?" I also prepared the historical development of the emergency services in the Czech lands. The Systematization of the Ambulance Service Paramedic Education

This thesis explores and evaluates the educational system of certain ambulance service. It's aim is to suggest the recommendations leading to higher efficiency and individualization of the system. This is the way how to address the educational needs of individual employees and help their professional development. Theoretical part of the thesis pays attention to employee's education and describes the specifics of educational cycle in more detail. So far there was no functional educational system in place in explored organization. This is the reason why to make it happen. The change I talk about needs to be prepared, planned and realized. Therefore another theme of theoretical part is devoted to implementation of change in organization. The practical part initially summarizes the attitude of Czech and some foreign ambulance services towards to employee's education, as it appears from their web sides. It also describes the current system of education in explored organization and evaluates it from the change implementation point of view. The attention is also paid to the fulfillment of different parts of educational cycle.
