Monitoring of changes of drinking water quality during accumulation and distribution
Vaňková, Jitka ; Dolejš, Petr (referee) ; Mega, Jaroslav (advisor)
Theoretical part of the diploma thesis purveys information on drinking water and quality requirements, changes of drinking water quality during distribution and accumulation caused by disinfection, chemical processes, corrosion of constructional materials, incrusting solids, biofilms, nitrification of ammonia nitrogen, sediments in pipelines, elution of harmful matter. Attention was given to drinking water quality indicators which are associated with changes in drinking water distribution systems. In experimental part are studied changes of drinking water quality during distribution on the basis of selected drinking water quality indicators. There is specifically chemical oxygen demand, concentration of iron, manganese, ammonia ions, nitrites, nitrates, chloroform and chlorine. For periodical monitoring were selected suitable locality within the framework of Brno distribution system; for illustration were taken water samples from distribution systems of drinking water treatment plants Švařec, Vír, Štítary and Mostiště. For selected methods of analytical determination of above mentioned drinking water quality indicators are presented their characteristics. Obtained information on drinking water quality is mentioned in tabular and graphical form.
There's black and white, day and night, good and evil, yin and yang. It all just balances itself out.
Ilič, Risto ; Kořínková, Jana (referee) ; Mazanec, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis "There's Black and White, Day and Night, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang" follows the three-year existence of the collective "Ugly Brno" and its work, which is based on the still current, local phenomenon of redesigning of advertising banners and shields in the context of small businesses located in the Brno city center. Specifically, it focuses on emerging designs combining black and white. The output of this bachelor's thesis is a video – a fictional interview in which Black and White are personified as two confident, eccentric personalities, quasi-experts in today's visual culture and the ultimate guarantors of taste, who conquered the city of Brno with their realizations. The objective of this thesis is to reveal the mythology behind the popularity of black and white combination in the context of visual culture, particularly in graphic design and its connection to the problematics of gentrification and capitalism. Another objective is to use sarcasm and irony to create a reflection of a culture whose values are elitism, workaholism, perfectionism, disregard for alternatives and an emphasis on efficiency. Why is it that in such a culture, black and white has gained more and more popularity than ever before?
Color Images Advanced Dithering Methods, Reduction of Color Space on n-Dimensional Palette
Štěpán, Petr ; Vaďura, Jiří (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis describes summarizing and comparsion of advanced dithering techniques used to reduce the image color space on n-dimensional palette. The goal is to create a set of basic methods including theirs enhancements and modifications focusing on the output image quality and maximum visual fidelity to the original image. Another part of this thesis is to analyze this methods using own comparsing method and design new dithering algorithm combining their advantages.
Gamut mapping algorithms in color management
Svoboda, Jan ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with colors - their representation in digital devices and how to provide the best color preservation accross different devices. In the first part of the work, the knowledge of colors and human vision is briefly summarized. Then color models and color spaces are elaborated, mainly those device independent. Spectrum of colors viewable or printable on a device - the gamut - is different for every device and there's a need of precise reproduction or record of color. That's why the system of color management is described further and especially the gamut mapping approaches and algorithms are mentioned. In the second part of the work, the implementation of how two algorithms of color gamut mapping (HPMINDE, SCLIP) can be implemented in MATLAB is described. In the third and last part of the work, the results of implemented algorithms are presented and discussed. These results are compared to results of commonly used color gamut mapping technique (Adobe Photoshop).
An application for color coordinate transforms and color mixing
Jurzykowski, Michal ; Štukavec, Radim (referee) ; Slanina, Martin (advisor)
The most important human sense is sight. We can see thanks to eyes, which are very sensitive on small part of electromagnetic wave. White sunlight contents all the spectrum visible. By decomposition of white sunlight we get colour spectrum. We recognize colours by cones, which are sensitive on red, green and blue spectrum of white light. Informer times it was denited many colour models, which have been using additive and subtractive method od mixing colours. One of the first models which were matemacily defined was CIE 1931, also known as XYZ. Together with this model was created xy chromatic diagram for displaying of colour space. Best known colour models are RGB and CMY. In TV technics is used model YUV. Models HSV and HSL are more intuitiv. This models have three basic parameters: hue, saturation and brightness.
Object Description in Images
Dvořák, Pavel ; Šmirg, Ondřej (referee) ; Zukal, Martin (advisor)
This thesis consider description of segments identified in image. At first there are described main methods of segmentation because it is a process contiguous before describing of objects. Next chapter is devoted to methods which focus on description identified regions. There are studied algorithms used for characterizing of different features. There are parts devoted to color, location, size, orientation, shape and topology. The end of this chapter is devoted to moments. Next chapters are focused on designing fit algorithms for segments description and XML files creating according to MPEG-7 standards and their implementation into RapidMiner. In the last chapter there are described results of the implementation.
THE TEXTURE
Rabochová, Agáta ; Ptáček, Jiří (referee) ; Kvíčala, Petr (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is a series of paintings. It is based on painting concept of drapery. The history of art is accompanied by drapery almost from the beginning. I´m interested in the variety of aproaches, once the drapery supports the meaning of the painting, once it is the main object of the paintwork. My intention is to paint a series of pantings, which will follow and complement the historic aproach.
Temples
Pokorná, Pavlína ; Horálek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Malý, Břetislav (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis, entitled Temples, consists of a set of paintings that the author perceives metaphorically as personal inner temples. The inspiration for the author was nature, which she considers a temple of its kind. The title of the work comes from the symbolism and artistic typification that are used on Japanese traditional clothing - Kimono. The series of paintings is not only inspired by nature and its motifs, but also freely paraphrases elements from textile design - such as shapes or repetitions.
Community
Luksch, Vojtěch ; Tischler, Marek (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I focus on topics from my surroundings. Because I live in a village I deal with ordinary things that are typically associated with it, such as landscape, pub motives, corners of the village, etc. I am looking for a certain lyricism in these common topics and I try to express my feeling and relationship to the topic. I mix peace and a pleasant slowdown in life in the countryside with my feelings of loneliness and sadness. I try to transfer these feelings to the watcher.
Education Computer Program for Demonstration of Colors and Colors Models Principles
Vojíř, Jaromír ; Jančík, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
The thesis deals with development of an educational program for demonstration of principles of colors and of color models. The thesis contains theoretical study of the given question from basic terms up to use of individual color models. This is followed by a detailed analysis of the requirements necessary for development of the given educational program. In the implementation part, the process of development of the application itself is described. In the end of the thesis there is a discussion of contribution of the thesis and of possibility of future adaptations. The program can serve as a complement of study materials for students.
