Trees in Prague 9 - Černý Most and their Protection - Environmental Education Program for Pupils of Lower Secondary School

The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of trees around the school and their protection. The aim of the work is to create a teaching program which goal is to actively engage and support students' interest in the process of learning about the given topic. The program was designed for the pupils of the 2nd level of elementary school and it was implemented at the locality of Praha 9 Černý Most. The thesis alone is divided into 2 parts. Theoretical part is dedicated mostly to teaching at the 2nd level of elementary school related to the given topic. First chapter is focused on the subject biology, more specifically on the botany part and on the environmental education. Simultaneously there is defined environmental educational program including its applied form and methods of work. In the second part of the thesis is the topic of trees and the consequences of their decrease described more complexly. Furthermore, there is given space to presentation of some chosen trees in Czech Republic and their ecology, meaning and protection. Practical part is dedicated to introduction of the locality of Černý Most and characteristic of the Generála Janouška elementary school. Integrative Approach to Poetry in the Sixth Grade of Lower Secondary School

The presented thesis deals with the integration of the components of Czech Language and Literature, i. e. the integration of Communication and Composition, Language, and Literary Education. Regarding the literary texts, which are the content of Literary Education, the thesis focuses on poetic texts. The aim is to defend the irreplaceability of poetry in human life, and therefore to defend its place in primary and lower secondary education. Based on scholarly literature, the thesis finds the importance of poetry not only in its specific use of language which, when perceived, develops logical thinking about language and provides an aesthetic experience, but also in its ability to stimulate the emotional aspect of personality. Through this stimulation, poetry can help students to reflect on their emotions, to better understand themselves, and ultimately to better understand the world around them. The second aim is to contribute to discussions about the change of CLL teaching which is currently very unintegrated. Entrance knowledge and ideas about selected non-European countries among 6th grade elementary school pupils

The thesis deals with the entrance knowledge and ideas of the sixth-grade pupils of elementary schools about non-European countries. The aim of the thesis is to map the level of knowledge that pupils of the sixth grades have before they learn about the given states within the geography. To fulfil the aim of the thesis, research using a questionnaire was carried out in the sixth grades of elementary schools, in which 489 pupils participated. In addition to mapping specific knowledge and ideas about the given states, the questionnaire was aimed at finding differences between this knowledge based on the type of schools, their location in cities or villages, and based on the gender of the respondents. Attention is also paid to the pupils' self-evaluation focused on their knowledge, pupils' sympathies for the countries and the sources from which the pupils learn information about the world. The thesis evaluates all the results found and their comparison and subsequent interpretation takes place. The analytical part is then followed by a practical part, which provides concrete ideas on how to use the conducted research in geography lessons. The practical part contains materials based on established facts about the pupils' entrance knowledge, which are aimed at strengthening and expanding them.
Entrance knowledge and ideas about european countries of pupils of 6th and 7th grade.

This diploma thesis deals with the entrance knowledge and ideas that pupils in the 6th and 7th grades of primary schools have about European countries. The resulting data came from a research survey, which was preceded by a discussion of professional literature and other sources related to the topic of the thesis and the design of the research survey itself. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the level of input knowledge and ideas, which is compared according to the different types, location and the size of the schools surveyed. The thesis also focuses on the differences in the knowledge between grades and genders and the sources of this information. There are also several possibilities of applying these results directly to the teaching of Europe at the 1st and 2nd stage of elementary schools. The practical part of the thesis presents a proposal for teaching activities using the CLIL method, which is based on the results of the research, professional literature and practical knowledge. The activities are complemented by a methodological manual for teachers and can be used in Geography and English language.
Alternativní metody a formy ve výuce zeměpisu 2. stupně základní školy na příkladu tematického celku "Přírodní sféry Země"

The main aim of the thesis is the practical realization of the educational activities within the curriculum of geography at the secondary school created by the author and based on methods that can be considered less frequent or alternative. The thematic units in question are mainly the physico-geographical spheres of the Earth, which are usually part of "RVP ZV" and most "SVP's" documents created for the 6th grade of secondary schools. In the theoretical part the selected alternative methods from metodology literature are compiled, described and evaluated and then transferred into practice and reflected in the practical part by SWOT analys method. The concrete designed teaching units are realized by the author in the 6th grade of the secondary school in Pribyslav. In the thesis there is also a study about the classifying of the topic of "the physico-geographical spheres of the Earth" in curricular documents and a survey of implementation of geography teaching at the secondary school.
Options and forms of on-line lessons for lower secondary school

This diploma thesis deals with the options and types of online teaching in middle schools. In the theoretical part, the topic of online teaching is presented as an alternative form of education, which is currently preferred when schools are often closed, even though the alternative has not been sufficiently examined. Additionally, there is an overview of the tools and technologies available for this type of teaching. The diploma thesis also includes an analysis of online schooling with a description of its positives and negatives. Furthermore, application options for middle schools are presented using the author's tools, the Internet, and learning management systems. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the specific experiences of middle school teachers, obtained using a questionnaire survey with an emphasis on the concrete cases of using online teaching tools in practice. For example, it deals with which e-learning materials are the most effective in online teaching and lead to the active participation of students. Eventually, this thesis will be supported by the author's online activities for teaching mathematics at the middle school.
Teaching First Aid and English Using CLIL Method at Lower Secondary Level

The diploma thesis deals with teaching first aid and English (CLIL method). The main purpose was to design five CLIL teaching materials for fist aid learning. The first part of the thesis focuses on CLIL method and its principles, first aid and its incorporation to the Framework Educational Program. The second part deals with creation of the teaching materials. Their verification took place at lower secondary level in the ninth grade during three lessons. It was found out that CLIL method did not influence the pupils' knowledge in a negative way, because they reached similar results as pupils who were aught in their mother tongue.
An educational program focused on the butterflies and an importance of meadow ecosystems

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to design an educational program based on butterflies and the importance of meadow ecosystems. The theoretical part is dedicated to the importance of meadow ecosystems, the body of butterflies and their other stages of life and to the characteristic of the selected kinds of butterflies. The Practical part contains the design of the educational program for pupils at the second level of primary schools or for free-time educational organizations. The educational program contains detailed instructions for all activities and educational sample texts for teachers. This thesis also contains worksheets, flashcards and sample texts which are important for the activities.
Collection of exercises of financial mathematics for lower secondary school

This bachelor´s thesis is focused on exercises and their solutions from financial mathematics. The collection is for the lower secondary school. The starting points for this thesis are the National Financial Education Strategy, Framework Education Programme for primary schools, School Education Programme of selected schools, Maths textbook for the lower secondary school. The first part contains a definition of the concept of financial literacy, as well as an assessment of the current situation of financial literacy. The second part presents exercises that are divided by curriculum. The exercises are aimed at using mathematical operations to work with finances in everyday life. There is a concisely defined theory on each topic.
