The level of knowledge about basic and advanced life support of children in common public and paramedics
VALTER, Jan
In the first part of the thesis the method and procedure of provision of Basic Life Support (BLS) by lay persons and Advanced Life Support (ALS) by professional rescuers ? paramedics, are described. The other part involves research that verifies knowledge of lay public and paramedics of Basic and Advanced Life Support in children. The objective of the thesis is to map and evaluate knowledge of lay public and paramedics of Basic and Advanced Life Support in children. Data collection was done by the qualitative form, by the method of questioning and by the technique of a questionnaire. There were two kinds of a questionnaire - one for lay public and the other one for paramedics. The results of the research are divided into two groups, according to the characteristics of the investigation file and are transformed into a graph. The first research result is a finding that lay persons do not have sufficient knowledge of Basic Life Support in children. The second result proves that paramedics have sufficient knowledge of Advanced Life Support in children. The problem of ignorance of BLS procedure might be solved by teaching and regular training of lay persons. The start of the training would be at upper primary schools, and the training would continue at secondary schools, universities and at work. This would lead to the improvement of knowledge of lay public on BLS in children.

The role of the medical operations center, a provider of emergency medical services
JIRKŮ, Tomáš
Bachelor's thesis deals with the medical operating center and its activities. A lot of people have no idea what a medical operating centre actually is. My knowledge about it was also scarce before the beginning of my studies. Therefore I would like to outline the problems, tasks and also the demanding character of the work of operators. That is why this thesis is aimed at examining the tasks of the medical operating centre. Everybody probably knows the term medical rescue service and imagines immediately a yellow vehicle with reflective strips and blue lights. Hardly anybody realizes, however, that the medical rescue service needs the medical operating centre to be functional. It may be also called a control centre. This centre is an inseparable part of the medical service and also of the integrated rescue system. Specialized medical workers, called operators or controllers, are employed here. These workers, among others, receive continuously emergency calls, evaluate them and pass them on to exit groups, and, last but not least, assist the caller with giving first aid. All these problems are the subject of the theoretical part of the thesis. Two research issues were determined for the purpose of the research part of the thesis. The first one deals with all tasks ordered by legislation being used by the operating centre and the second research issue is aimed at the problems of urgent basic life support assisted by phone, namely if this basic life support assisted by phone is utilized always when unconsciousness is indicated. These issues were dealt with by means of the qualitative research method consisting in the secondary data analysis. The research set constituted the regional operating centre of the South Moravian Region. Specifically, documentation of emergency medical services was used operator record and audio record of emergency call. This documentation is a part of each emergency call. By means of the secondary analysis the data from 20 emergency calls were obtained. Emergency calls were chosen by simple random choice. The sample of these 20 emergency calls was chosen from the period of the year 2014. Because of protection of personal data no names are given in the thesis, only the initials. For the same reason no actual addresses are used in the research. In the discussion there are given all tasks ordered by legislation and recommended procedures from professional sources. This information is subsequently compared with the obtained data. The results in the case of the first research issue indicated that some tasks ordered by legislation are not used too often. Some tasks within the framework of the small sample being examined are not used at all and, on the contrary, they are used in the receiving of each emergency call. The tasks that were not used at all were three altogether. The results in the case of the second research issue demonstrated that indication of unconsciousness is not always necessarily the reason for using urgent basic life support assisted by phone. It is important that also other aspects are taken into account, not only consciousness of the patient. Of ten emergency calls concerning unconsciousness being examined this urgent basic life support assisted by phone was used in five of them. It was found out that utilization of the medical operations center tasks is individual in each emergency call. From the point of view of the total activity of the centre it could be declared, however, that the centre uses most of the tasks ordered by legislation. This bachelor's thesis can be used as a material extending the knowledge of both non-professional public and medical personnel concerning the activities of medical operating centre. It can be a stepping stone for further research concerning medical operations center.

Personalities in tourism in the Czech republic
Panušová, Petra ; Jarolímková, Liběna (advisor) ; Valentová, Jana (referee)
The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to specify the criteria on which the expert in tourism is considered to be a Personality in tourism in the Czech Republic. In addition to interpretation of the concept of personality from a scientific point of view, the work also includes a consideration whether and to what extent a personality may affect tourism in the Czech republic. Another part of the work focuses on a specific personality - from the beginning of tourism in the Czech Republic to the present. The foundation-stone of the work is a research on wide range of views - among respondents appear experts in the field, educators, students as well as general public.

Personal requirements which determine effective communication of Health Rescuer in critical situations.
JURIGOVÁ, Martina
Communication is crucial in the relationship between a health worker and a client since the health worker can gain a comprehensive impression of the client and appreciate him/her as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual creature. However, health workers face increasing requirements today for communicative competency, which are even greater with the increasing interest of the media in their profession. In terms of prehospital care, the requirements for Health Emergency Service workers are even greater, since they often work in improvised conditions and under time constraints. Consequently, my essay deals with personality qualities which are a precondition for effective communication in the Emergency Service. The survey was conducted using a quantitative method in a questionnaire sent to Emergency Service workers in Teplice and Ústí nad Labem, the non-professional public and non-professionals who in the past had been treated by the Emergency Service. The objective of my essay was to contribute to the development of communicative competency of Emergency Service workers using a survey monitoring their dominant communication competency and comparing their opinion and that of the public. The first hypothesis I stipulated in the essay was that emergency health workers find that stamina, the ability to improvise and consistency are necessary personality qualities which encourage effective communication of a health worker in emergencies. This hypothesis proved true, since more than 75% of respondents marked all these qualities with the highest rating. The second hypothesis stipulated by me anticipated that the non-professional public finds the readiness to take risks, courage and empathy are necessary personality qualities which are the main precondition for effective communication of health workers in emergencies. More than 85% of respondents marked all these qualities with the highest rating, so the hypothesis was proved, too. The third hypothesis stipulated the premise that emergency health workers show interest in further education in professional communication with a patient. It was proved too, as 64% of respondents answered yes. My suggestion for improving the communication competency of emergency health workers is to put more emphasis on their attending training courses in professional communication and more frequent events focused on professional communication with patients.

Revitalization Program of Floral Garden in Kromeriz
Koželouhová, Anna ; Vojtová, Lea (referee) ; Hrabec, Josef (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the design of the revitalization of the foreground of the Květná garden in Kroměříž and of the service building for visitors. When solving the project, the first ideas were initiated by its strong social context. The garden art has always been a reflection of its own period. The founders of gardens – the aristocracy, monarchs or clergy – have used gardens as a means to represent their social status. They have tried to point out the things that have been conceived as artistically and technically (and later socially) progressive and correct. The main ideal concept of my project results from these facts and considerations. I seek to represent today’s era and society – within the meaning of the good, what they could and according to my opinion should bring to each other. And what they perhaps do… That is why I apply knowledge of today’s technique and ecology in my project – in terms of the use of local natural materials and renewable energy resources. At the same time I try to take advantage of and to give support to the frankness of today’s society and to create a project with a social and human overlap. I incorporate a function of a temporary sheltered housing into the area and support integration of people into the society through garden works and therapies. Last but not least – I would like to open the gardens to the broadest scope of the laic public and to create not only an esthetic function, but an educational as well. From the architectural point of view, I tried to bring contemporary components into the garden, which, however, respect the historical evolution and the temporary situation and connect to them. In the Holandská garden I placed the visitors centre into the ground plan – a path of the former “casino”. It closes up this lengthwise space, it creates a notion of continuance of the colonnade of the Květná garden (and transcription of the arcade on its façade), and it balances the dimension of the tropical glasshouse on the other side of the garden. Regarding the solution of the garden space, I respect the cross axes of the Květná garden as well as the main longitudinal axe of the foreground. I create a simple composition of larger sheets with two new “piazzas” – at the place of the renewed Neptune’s fountain and in front of the visitor’s center. By creating the elevated sheets I add the third dimension to the parcel. In the southern part of the foreground I compose functionally different spaces along the longitudinal axe. Hence, visitor’s attention is non-violently drawn to the aviary. Crosswise, the garden is divided into several parts – the representational one (by the cold glasshouse), the agricultural and educational one (but no less attractive) with the garden centre, and the leisure area of the aviary and the so called “rabbit hill”.

Public awareness concerning risk factors leading to hypertension
LEPŠÍKOVÁ, Leona
The public´s awareness about risks of hypertension Cardiovascular diseases are the most frequent causes of morbidity and mortality in the Czech republic. It is widely known that arterial hypertension is one of the factors that may subsequently lead to irreversible changes and death. Arterial hypertension together with its high prevalance among adults in industrial nations (20 - 30 %) represent a serious health problem. It is one of the most major risk factors of ischemic heart disease along with diabetes, hyperlipoproteinemia, obesity and smoking. The aim of this work is to establish whether the public are aware of and adhere to precautionary measures which lessen the risk of hypertension. There are two hypotheses: 1. The public know the risk factors in the rise of hypertension. 2. The public fail to maintain precautionary measures preventing the rise of hypertension. The research group was formed by the public in the Vysočina region. Data was collected using questionnaires. The questionnaires were addressed to respondents of all age groups. There were distributed 160 questionnaires altogether. The final number of questionnaires used for data processing amounted to 126 questionnaires. The results showed that the public in the Vysočina region are informed about risks of hypertension (obesity, overeating, a high intake of salt in food, excessive alcohol consumption, lack of physical exercise and stress) and maintain precautionary measures preventing the rise of hypertension. To prevent hypertension from a frequent occurrence, it is essential to know of and avoid risk factors, to learn a healthy lifestyle and to realize that we ourselves are responsible for our health. It is, therefore, important to pay more attention to this problem and keep the public educated, e.g. through leaflets in GPs´ surgeries, and also this dissertation may serve the purpose.

The level of primary first aid knowledge among lay public
Škaroupková, Olga ; Schneiderová, Michaela (advisor) ; Plecitá, Zdeňka (referee) ; Ulrychová, Hana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis "The Level of Primary First Aid Knowledge among Lay Public" examines the extent of primary first aid knowledge among non-medical lay public. The first section presents theories regarding disorders of the basic state of health as well as life-threatening and/or other sudden conditions. In addition it presents symptoms of these conditions and general first aid remediation which could be applied by lay, non-emergency people. Included is a chapter describing areas of cooperation between lay citizens and medical rescue services. The primary focus of this work is to report the results of empirical research conducted among a sampling of the lay public in Svitavy. Respondents were asked to complete a questionnaire which would determine both the extent of their knowledge of basic first aid and their willingness to learn more in this field in their free time. The aim of the survey is to map the extent of their knowledge and interest in becoming a more capble first aid provider.

The Differences in the psychoterapeutic approaches within therapeutic communities during adult and adolescent drug's addiction therapy.
ODEHNALOVÁ, Hana
The central theme of the thesis are psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques used during treatment in therapeutic communities for drug addicts. The aim of the work is to map these approaches and techniques and on the basis of obtained information define the differences in the approach to adolescents and adults therapeutic communities. The thesis uses a method of a qualitative research. A method of questionaire was chosen to obtain the necessary data whereas a structured interview with open questions was chosen as a tool. The research group consists of four therapists, two of therapists are employees of the therapeutic community for adolescents and two others are working in the therapeutic community for adults. In the introduction of a theoretical part the basic concepts which are necessary to grasp the issue, the basic characteristics of therapeutic communities for drug addicts and young client specifics are explained. Then the list of different psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques used in these facilities follows. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to a basic legislation and funding of therapeutic communities. The research includes transcripts of interviews with therapists, therapeutic communities for young and adult clients. Then the discussion, whose task is a summary of research results and comparison of obtained data with the information provided in the first section, follows. The research showed that the essential difference in the care of juvenile and adult clients lies in the fact that therapeutic communities for juvenile treatment builds the treatment on the educational approach, while the therapeutic community for adults are more democratic and lead the clients to a bigger independance. The specificity of young people also lies in the need for cooperation with a legal representative and in the case of escape of a juvenile client there is also cooperation with the Police. Another difference, which was defined on the basis of the research, is the frequent lack of intrinsic motivation of young client which often leads to a premature termination of treatment. The cornerstone of work with juveniles is an intensive collaboration with a client's family. For adult clients it is necessary to take into account their greater somatic damage caused by their prolonged drug history. The hypotheses, which are listed at the end of work, were established on the basis of the results of the research. The quoted conclusions are the proof of the fulfillment of the objectives of the bachelor's thesis which were set at the beginning of work. The work can serve as a comprehensive source of information on the topic for interested and laic public and it can also be a source for a bigger research.

The knowing of laic community about high- risk factors, prevention and symptoms of vascular brain stroke
VYCHYTILOVÁ, Renata
Cerebrovascular accident (CVA, ictus) is a critical state in neurology, when due to disturbance in the blood supply to the brain the local or total damage of brain functions occurs. Only one third of patients with this diagnosis are completely cured. The possibilities how to improve this situation is first of all an early hospitalization of ill in their acute stadium of the disease and an appreciation of preventive care significance. The main risk factors are: age, heredity, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, smoking, alcohol, drugs, obesity, stress, lack of physical activity, improper nutrition. The crucial significance for prevention is the regulation of life-style, e.g. sufficient physical activity, proper nutrition and the absence of smoking. Also regular check-ups which can reveal high blood pressure, high level of cholesterol and diabetes mellitus in time are important. The prevention also includes the education focused on CVA symptoms and the need to act quickly in this case because time is crucial for the treatment of ictus. The objective of the thesis is to find out the informedness of laic public on the risk factors, prevention and symptoms of cerebrovascular accident. The hypotheses concerning the knowledge of risk factors, prevention and symptoms of cerebrovascular accident were stated. For this thesis the method of questioning by the technique of a questionnaire was chosen. The questionnaire was compiled on the basis of information gained from the professional literature; it was anonymous, designed for laic public and contained 25 closed, open and semi-closed questions, which offered the choice of particular answers and the possibility to fill in respondents{\crq} opinions. The observed group was laic public in Vysočina Region. On the whole 200 respondents were addressed during February and March 2010. The criterion for the choice of respondents was laic (non- medical) public who did not experience CVA irrespective of age and education. The rate of questionnaire return was 83% out of the total number. 22 questionnaires were excluded because they were incomplete. On the whole the data from 145 questionnaires were elaborated. The hypotheses were proved; the objective of the thesis was fulfilled. Good informedness in the area of risk factors and prevention and insufficient knowledge on the symptoms of ictus were found out. The results will be published at seminars designed for medical workers in in-patient and out-patient institutions. They might contribute to better informedness of public. Further, the results will be used as the basis for the seminar on the problems of CVA and its prevention, designed for laic public.
