Nutritional analysis and optimization of breeding of selected species of edible insects under conditions of the Czech Republic with regard to human health

All over the world, the edible insects are considered a highly nutritious food with high protein and fat content. However, the nutritional value of insect is not constant. It can be affected by species, developmental stage, rearing technology or nutrition.
Therefore, this thesis was aimed at obtaining the selected nutritional value of edible insects. Analyses were focused on the determination of the crude protein content, fat content, fatty acid profile and sterols in selected species of edible insects, which can be commonly reared in the Czech Republic. At the same time we also analysed samples of insects reared on the island of Sumatra to evaluate the influence of the climate on the nutritional value. The main aim of the thesis was the determination of optimal breeding conditions, developmental stages and feed rations for obtaining good production of insects with nutritional properties suitable for human nutrition. The analyses showed a high nutritional value of selected insect species, but also confirmed the significant differences in the content of individual nutrients between different species depending on the climate conditions and developmental stage. Comparing the fat and crude protein content in edible insects and other conventional sources of meat it has been found, that the examined insect is similar to beef concerning the fat and crude protein content. The results obtained are the basis for determining the appropriate rearing conditions and developmental stages for obtaining insect with the desired nutritional properties for human nutrition.

The analysis of Russian economic performance in the light of competitiveness and natural resource curse phenomenon

Recent years a lot of debates have been taking place around Russias dependence on natural resources, especially on crude oil and natural gas, and consequent necessity to escape from it through diversification of the Russian economy. The research problem of the present doctoral thesis therefore is to investigate whether Russia demonstrates any success in this process or not. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze Russian economic performance along with Russian producers (representing corresponding economic sectors) relative position towards foreign rivals in external and internal markets and via investigation of the real effective exchange rate of ruble and quality of Russian institutions shed some light on the presence of Natural resource curse phenomenon in the Russian economy. The analysis of Russian economic performance in the light of competitiveness was seen as justified since the results of that analysis may reveal the existence of perspective points of growth in the economy. In the final stage of the research the existence of a long-run interrelationship was checked among the structure of Russian export basket, GDP growth, price of crude oil and the real effective exchange rate of Russian ruble with the use of Johansen cointegration technique.

Improving the quality management system in woodworking enterprise with regard to market changes

The thesis is focused on developing a proposal to increase the quality of production and its processes in the chosen company from wood processing industry with regard to the requirements of the market and marketing. The author first introduces and explains basic concepts, such as methods for management support, marketing and quality. Following is the analysis of existing processes in Dřevotvar cooperative in all of its premises and using the audit of quality management system processes. Then the author is dealing with optimization of main processes at this company.
Based on the data obtained steps are being recommended as to the increase of quality of production and its processes.

Effect of internal factors on milk production and quality

The aim of this thesis was to monitor and evaluate the impact of internal factors on the production and quality of milk in a herd of montbeliarde cattle. The hypothesis was that worse results of reproduction adversely affect milk production. Data collection took place on a farm Osičky agricultural company Agrodružstvo Lhota pod Libčany for the period from 1.1.2010 to 31.12.2015. The file was obtained 1 849 standard lactations completed in this period. The source of data for evaluation of milk production, milk quality and reproductive performance of cows were cards, program Farmsoft from Farmtec used to herd management and output data from the inspections carried out by the utility Chovservis Inc. residing in Hradec Kralove.
A statistically highly significant difference (P<0,01) between the first and all other amounts lactation in milk, fat and protein kg per lactation and fat in % and between 1st and 5th and more lactations in % protein. Was a positive effect of length of service period and the length of the intervening period the quantity of milk, fat and protein in kg per lactation at significance level P<0,001 and the negative influence of the length meantime to protein content in % (P<0,001). He was also found at least P<0,001 positive effect on lactation length produced kilograms of milk, fat and protein. Fat and protein also positively influenced the amount of milked milk (P<0,001). It was statistically insignificant effect on the incidence of mastitis production and milk quality (P>0,05), based on correlations may have an adverse effect on the percentage of fat and protein at a higher incidence of mastitis expected. The influence of the proportion of blood Montbeliarde breed was statistically proven only on the amount of milk and protein in kg per lactation, but still pure-bred animals came out the best in all of the indicators except for milk production fat percentage.
From comparison of the calving showed that his herd performance increases every year, the quality of milk as the fat content in % but conversely decreases. For the month of calving has been shown to influence the percentage of fat and protein at a significance level of P<0,001, the quantity of milked milk (P<0,01) and the amount of produced protein in kg per lactation (P<0,05).
The hypothesis that impaired reproduction results negatively affecting milk production has not been confirmed. It was found to influence reproduction indicators on production and quality of milk, but this influence in a positive direction. The negative effect was demonstrated only for the length of the interim influence on protein content in %.
Overall, the level of flock assessed as very good, but there are many indicators of production and reproduction that is necessary with respect to the potential of improving the breed.

Comparison of Educational Programming Languages with Respect to Cognitive Level of Secondary School Students

Education of programming language is often included in Czech secondary education as a method of implementation of corresponding school standards. By the time of publishing this thesis, these standards are only vaguely defined, so the effect of teaching programming can't be objectively evaluated from the perspective of the standards. This thesis elaborates on the usability of educational programming languages with respect to cognitive level of secondary school students, which may be used as a founded source in defining standards of particular schools.

Philosophy of Sport

This bachelor thesis is concerned with physical activities in ancient Greece, specifically in time of philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Emphasis is put on presenting a broad historical framework, especially because physical activities were closely connected with other areas of human life, namely with religious cult and philosophical questioning. It is the relationship between sport and philosophy which has the major attention. The main task of this thesis consists in presenting physical activities as the important part of the competitive culture in ancient Greece. Described, explained, and compared are fundamental principles and ideals of ancient Greek sport. Special attention is given to its role in educational process. In this sense, physical activities are presented as a suitable instrument for both physical and mental formation of man. Through bodily exercises, individuals were able to achieve higher dimensions of reality, acquire certain virtues, and consequently realize their own potential. Because of these and many other reasons, physical activities in ancient Greece can be a valuable source of inspiration also for people of today. This thesis tries to present them exactly in this way.
