Testing the impact of network infrastructure capacity on the performance of Internet access services
Hykš, Matěj ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the topic of measuring the transmission capacity of computer networks. It describes the differences between service and link parameters, which are measured using TCP, UDP, ICMP and other protocols. In the last theoretical part, it briefly describes the queueing theory and explains their relevance in today’s computer networks. The result of the work is a custom measurement system that will simulate multi-user access to the electronic communications network, measure its capacity and conform to standards.
Advanced Segmentation of a Simulated Network
Slávik, Mark ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Benedikt, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the simulation of available routing protocols in the NS3 simulator and in the Quagga module. The functions of simulated routing protocols are described in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the functionality of the NS3 simulator and the RIP, OLSR and OSPF, BGP routing protocols from the Quagga module are introduced using a simple topology. Finally, the network is extended and several subnets are added. Using available analysis tools, the network is subsequently analyzed and evaluated with different scenarios.
Opensource firewall redundancy
Škurla, Tomáš ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of different open-source firewalls from the perspective of high availability topology. The goal of the thesis is to determine the most suitable firewall for implementing a topology with high availability. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the concepts of address translation, the operation of firewalls, and subsequently describes the protocols necessary for the implementation of high availability, followed by a description of the testing using GNS3. The practical part of the thesis describes the preparation of the laboratory environment, as well as the process of configuration and testing of the individual firewalls, followed by an evaluation based on the test results.
Platform for Digital Predistortion Based on RFSoC
Kříčka, Tomáš ; Maňas, Ondřej (referee) ; Král, Jan (advisor)
Signal predistortion occurs in modern communication systems and in other systems requiring linear signal amplification. The objective is to learn about signal predistortion, the QORVO 1800 MHz FDD radio front-end and to implement the front-end control using Matlab computer program. I focus on controlling individual attenuators and amplifiers on the QORVO front-end with a program written in C. Using a single board computer Raspberry Pi 4B running Linux. Furthermore, the work involves the application of a SCPI server that operates based on TCP packets. As part of the introduction to the front-end, the power characteristic of the power amplifier is measured.
DPDK Accelerated Firewall
Holubář, Jiří ; Fukač, Tomáš (referee) ; Vrána, Roman (advisor)
Nowadays, when almost everyone uses the Internet, network traffic security must also be ensured. This is what firewall helps with. Some routes require higher bandwidth than others. This thesis explores possibilities of using the DPDK library when implementing the firewall in order to achieve the highest possible bandwidth.
Laboratory exercises in NS3 enviroment for Advanced communication technology course
Vadkerti, Gabriel ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Langhammer, Lukáš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with creating laboratory exercises for students in simulator NS-3, where the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, unicast and multicast transmission types, quality of services in wireless networks, furthermore protocols TCP and UDP are analyzed. The first section describes the NS-3 network simulator, the Eclipse development environment and the method how to connect them. In the next section protocols IPv4 and IPv6 are presented, the structure of the headers and the technique of fragmentation are described in detail. Based on this a laboratory exercise is created which deals with comparison of protocols IPv4 and IPv6. In the next section the types of transmissions are described, furthermore the multicast transmission type is explained more in detail. In the next practical section the second laboratory exercise is created, which deals with comparison of unicast and multicast transmission types. The subject of the following section is ensuring quality of services in data networks, the EDCA access method is discussed more in detail. In the next section the EDCA access method is implemented in a simulation as a laboratory exercise, in which the impact of the access category of EDCA to different transmission parameters is investigated. The next section deals with protocols TCP and UDP, furthermore with the structure of their headers. In the last section a laboratory exercise is created, in which the properties of the protocols TCP and UDP are compared.
Security analysis of network protocols
Bednařík, Jan ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
The aim of my bachalor’s thesis is security of net protocols analysis. Because of the huge number of net protocols, I’ve decided to choose only a few of them to describe. My task is to describe the TCP/IP model structure in term of security, so I have chosen to devide my thesis into two separate parts. The first part contains describtions of particular TCP/IP layers and adumbration of possibilities of securing. The second part contains more accurate describtions of some chosen protocols, mostly the case of their security. At the close of my work it is my task to describe some utilities and methods which can be used to accomplish an successful attack on chosen net protocols. I have chosen protocols HTTP, FTP and SSL. As the utilities I have chosen programs Wireshark, Brutus and SSLSTRIP.
Control and monitoring unit for optical link station
Ovčáček, Martin ; Kolka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of Master's thesis "Control and monitoring unit for optical link station" is design of hardware and software of unit, which provides remote control and data transfer through Internet. It is required monitoring and setting analog parameters of optical link station by web service. It includes description of Ethernet and net protocols. The core of unit are microcontroller C8051F120 and ethernet controller CP2200 made by Silicon Laboratories.
ECG Signal Transmission via Ethernet
Bayerová, Zuzana ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
The semestral thesis describes ECG signal compression methods designed to modify the data for transmission via communication channels. The thesis contains an introduction to Ethernet and explanation of communication in the network. The transport protocols TCP and UDP are discussed in more detail. In the practical part of the thesis was created two separate applications. The first application in the sender's computer opens a text file with the ECG signal. Loaded ECG signal is filtered by cascade of filters to eliminate interference. The resulting signal is displayed. A part of the application is the R wave detection, calculating the length of RR interval and heart rate. The application also allows to compress an ECG signal. ECG signal is sent via Ethernet network via UDP protocol for individual samples. Applications in the recipient's computer receives signal samples from the network. Recieved compressed data is reconstructed. The resulting ECG signal is displayed and there are again detected R waves, the length of RR intervals and sampling frequency are calculated.
UDP a TCP Communication for FITkit
Musil, Martin ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to extend educational platform FITkit for the possibility of communication via TCP and UDP protocol. Communication is provided by Ethernet module ENC28J60 from Microchip. Communication protocols are provided by library enc28j60, which is implemented in C language. The theoretical part deals with analysis of network protocols to be implemented. Work continues describing the characteristics and parameters of the connected module. Followed by a design library in which is particular emphasis on limited computing resource of the platform. In the implementation of the work is to describe the application interface and the basic principles of the library.
