Mobile devices in teaching at the 1st grade of elementary school
BERKOVÁ, Jana
The aim of this thesis is to address the issue of using mobile devices in teaching at the primary school level. The theoretical part describes the types of mobile devices, distinguishes the advantages and disadvantages of various operating systems, and identifies specific mobile applications most commonly used for teaching younger school-age pupils. This section of the thesis also outlines possible uses of mobile devices in teaching various subjects at the primary school level and their application, for example, in connection with interactive whiteboards or electronic class registers. The practical part of the thesis consists of the results of a questionnaire survey, which deals with the experiences of primary school teachers with mobile devices in teaching and their availability at selected schools. The attitude of teachers towards the use of mobile devices, especially in lower grades, which is often a topic of debate on teaching forums or social networks, was analyzed. A significant part of the practical section of the thesis is a set of student activities designed for teaching at the primary school level and their reflection from real-world practice.
Tone and Chord Recognition as an Android Application
Kucharovič, Oliver ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
The aim of this work is to recognize tones and chords on any musical instrument using the microphone on Android mobile devices. The app scans or records the sounds which are analyzed. It writes to a visual representation which is similar to the musical notation. The work describes the problems of recognition and the solution of the problem using fast Fourier transformation and analysis of the spectrum of volumes. Work describes the theory of music and the training of individual tones. The application was subjected to user tests and recognition accuracy tests. The conclusion includes tests results and statistics from the Google Play publication.
Complex Scene Rendering on Mobile Devices
Matýšek, Michal ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis presents optimization techniques for efficient rendering of complex scenes on mobile devices. The introductory part of the text describes Unity game engine and the topic of mobile game development using this tool. Then follows a presentation of important optimization principles and methods for terrain rendering, large scale rendering of animated objects, rendering of animated water surfaces and of other elements in the scenes. The described methods include both general principles of optimization and specific optimization approaches based on the features of Unity game engine. The implementation of presented methods is described and used in practice in the context of mobile strategy game development.
Modular Architecture of Distributed Applications
Musil, Jiří ; Hrubý, Martin (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
Traditional architectures of software systems are in heterogenous environment of today's computer networks too heavy-footed. One of principles, which tries to solve this problem is service-oriented architecture (SOA). Practical way of its implementation is represented by web services (WS) built upon protocols like SOAP or XML-RPC. This diploma thesis focuses problem of providing contextual information to mobile devices and its solution based on SOA principles. The thesis introduces design and implementation of web service providing contextual information to mobile devices and prototype of modular inverse SOAP proxy server allowing its effective monitoring and management.
Business plan for internet based start-up
Bátrla, Tomáš ; Vacek, Mojmír (referee) ; Šimberová, Iveta (advisor)
Diploma thesis provides information about theoretical aspects of internet, mobiles, advertising and entrepreneurship. Paper analyses internet and mobile market in Czech Republic. There are market needs identified. Concept of the business plan is written in the paper.
XMPP Client Using Nokia Qt SDK
Vaňák, Tomáš ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis describes the creation of application in a development environment Qt Nokia SDK. It emphasizes the differences between development of desktop applications and describes the steps necessary to create a functional mobile applications.  This thesis also describes the basics of XMPP protocol.  The resulting application is simple XMPP client.
Dictionary for Mobile Devices (iPad, iPhone, Android)
Boba, Peter ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and implementation of a system for creating dictionary databases, as well as design and implementation of an Android application that displays the dictionary data contained in these databases. Lexical data sources are structured using Lexical Markup Framework.
Augmented Reality for iPhone
Bednář, David ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis was performed during a study stay at the "Technische Universität Graz", Austria. This Thesis talks about handheld augmented reality, especially for the iPhone. In theoretical part of the Thesis, we discuss available frameworks and description of the platform itself and its application development. The practical part describes development of a demonstrational AR application, which uses popular OpenCV computer vision library for processing the image captured by iPhone's camera. The application also permits to overlay visual information above the camera preview (with and without the use of private APIs) and also permits to align OpenGL camera to the position of the iPhone's camera in the real world.
Mobile device for acceleration measurement.
Jurníček, Jakub ; Marada, Tomáš (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
Presented bachelor thesis deals with acceleration measurement and visualization. The acceleration is measured via two sensors perpendicular to each other. The measured acceleration value is displayed in real time, moreover the actual value is stored for furthe offline processing on PC. The ADXL320 module acts as a main sensor and two LED screens displays the actual value. The recorded data are transferred to permanent memory EEPROM. The entire device is operated by Atmel ATmega8 microprocessing unit which is connected to PC by common RS232 serial line. Further in the thesis there's presented suggestion of the final solution of the problem.
Design of Mobile Application for BUT Students
Vlasák, Adam ; Neuwirth, Bernard (referee) ; Dydowicz, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the topic of mobile application design with a primary focus on the Android platform from Google. The design is also applicable to Apple's iOS platform. The application will be intended for BUT students. With the help of the application, students will have quick access to the most common items of the BUT intraportal and studis.
