Evaluation of Biometric System - Eye Iris Technology
Mlčoch, Luboš ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Dittrich, Petr (advisor)
This thesis briefly describes basic biometric terms, a brief history of biometrics, biometric system and its performance and characteristics. Basic principles of iris recognition technology are also discussed. Finally, this thesis describes tests performed on various iris recognition systems and sums up the results.
Biometry based on iris images
Tobiášová, Nela ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The biometric techniques are well known and widespread nowadays. In this context biometry means automated person recognition using anatomic features. This work uses the iris as the anatomic feature. Iris recognition is taken as the most promising technique of all because of its non-invasiveness and low error rate. The inventor of iris recognition is John G. Daugman. His work underlies almost all current public works of this technology. This final thesis is concerned with biometry based on iris images. The principles of biometric methods based on iris images are described in the first part. The first practical part of this work is aimed at the proposal and realization of two methods which localize the iris inner boundary. The third part presents the proposal and realization of iris image processing in order to classifying persons. The last chapter is focus on evaluation of experimental results and there are also compared our results with several well-known methods.
Software for Biometric Recognition of a Human Eye Iris
Maruniak, Lukáš ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
In my thesis, I focus on the task of recognizing human iris from an image. In the beginning, the work deals with a question of biometrics, its importance and basic concepts, which are necessary for use in following text. Subsequently process of human Iris detection is described together with theory of evolution algorithms. In the implementation part, is described the design of implemented solution, which uses evolution algorithms, where is emphasis on correct pupil and iris boundary detection.
Identification and visualization of the coordinate system of the cornea during lens implantation
Hudec, Jiří ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
The dissertation describes the method of inserting polar-axis system into the video recording of cataract operation at the Geminy Eye Surgery, Zlin. At the theoretical part, it discusses requirements for inserting the polar-axis system including elimination of eye rotary movements captured by slit lamp. Then the emphasis is also on the speed of data processing. The practical part of the dissertation, focuses on the creating the method for detection of centers at the slit lamp picture, as well as video sequence and a method that eliminates potential eye rotation. For designing the program solution, following methods were used: Otsu method, Hough transformation method, method of two vertical projections, and crosscorrelation method. In total, the program solution was tested and analyzed in Matlab program on anonymous data set of 22 eyes.
Biometric Gateway Using Camera to Identify People
Jelen, Vilém ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Goldmann, Tomáš (advisor)
Biometric gateways are used to quickly and accurately identify people. Of the biometric characteristics, iris, face and fingerprints are commonly used. By combining them, better identification results can be achieved. The aim of this thesis is to create such a biometric gateway together with the control application. A combination of iris of both eyes and face is used, which is captured by cameras from three angles to increase accuracy. Neural networks are used to detect and extract face features. Iris recognition is realized using Daugman's algorithm.
Simple system for iris image acquisition
Křístek, Tomáš ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The themes of the thesis are the method of identification based on iris recognition and iris capture system. Text provides general theoretical information as an introduction to the field and issues, it describes the design and realization of a simple sensor system, the design and development of methodology for evaluating the image quality and subsequent identification of influential factors. At the end of the bachelor thesis, work and results are evaluated and some possible suggestions for future development and improvement of the sensing process are provided.
Identifikace osob pomocí obrazu duhovky
Žákovic, Marek ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Vaško, Marek (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor’s thesis was to create a system for person identification using iris images. The thesis describes existing methods and procedures for iris recognition. The proposed method utilizes a convolutional neural network trained to extract features, which are then used to compare whether the image belongs to the same person or not. The experiments involve training and evaluating the neural network. For the purposes of this thesis, freely available datasets were used, which were modified for specific use.
Samoopravné kódy a rozpoznávání podle duhovky
Luhan, Vojtěch ; Šťovíček, Jan (advisor) ; Drápal, Aleš (referee)
Iris recognition constitutes one of the most powerful method for the iden- tification and authentication of people today. This thesis aims to describe the algorithms used in a sophisticated and mathematically correct way, while re- maining comprehensible. The description of these algorithms is not the only objective of this thesis; the reason they were chosen and potential improvements or substitutions are also discussed. The background of iris recognition, its use in cryptosystems, and the application of error-correcting codes are investigated as well.

Iris recognition constitutes one of the most powerful method for the iden- tification and authentication of people today. This thesis aims to describe the algorithms used by a mathematical apparatus. The description of these algo- rithms is not the only objective of this thesis; the reason they were chosen and potential improvements or substitutions are also discussed. The background of iris recognition, its use in cryptosystems, and the application of error-correcting codes are investigated as well. The second version of the thesis eliminates errata and a quantum of inaccu- racies discovered in the first version, especially in the ROI Definition, the Hough Transform and the Feature Extraction sections. Besides that, it also contains se- veral new propositions. Last, but not least, it shows a potential implementation of the algorithms described by appending pseudocodes to the relevant sections. 1
