Biblioverse – Multifunctional building with library
Košútová, Kristína ; Kratochvíl, Jan (referee) ; Bykov, Oleksii (advisor)
Children's libraries in the Czech and Slovak Republic are a mirror of education. The spaces are undersized, furnished with furniture and carpets to at least somewhat muffle children's screams. The question remains whether such furnishings are sufficient and whether a children's library should look and function differently. The project is being taken up by a new branch of the Jiří Mahen Municipal Library - the Children's Library. It is based on an understanding of child development, how children play and learn new things during their childhood - from birth to the age of 12. Children can create their own games and toys to play with in the library. Children will be able to make their own choices about how they spend their time in the library. Whether they will play individually according to their own ideas or become part of any workshop organised by the Jiří Mahen Library. In the project I define 3 basic typologies that make up the space, and these are part of the building's mass. The tower - it is the main vertical element, thanks to which children can move between several floors, but it is also a space hiding interactive elements and games. The Cave - is a smaller space that resembles a refuge or hiding place for children who want to hide and read, or just want to find their own corner. Tunnel - is the main horizontal element that connects the important points of the two main building volumes.

Society's attitude towards children and adolescents with behavioral disorders
ŠÍMOVÁ, Michaela
The bachelor's thesis deals with society's attitude towards children and adolescents with behavioral disorders. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the characteristics of behavioral disorders, their classification, and the manifestations of behavioral disorders in children and adolescents at the present time are presented. Attention was also paid to risky behavior, antisocial behavior, factors influencing behavioral disorders, etiology and prevention of behavioral disorders, and the system of care for children and adolescents with behavioral disorders is also mentioned here. The last chapter already deals with the company's attitude. The practical part was carried out using a quantitative survey, using the questionnaire method. A total of 160 respondents took part in the survey. Three objectives were chosen for the bachelor thesis. The first goal was to find out how today's society perceives children and adolescents with behavioral disorders, or the clientele of institutions of institutional education. The second goal was to find out how these individuals are treated, i.e. if they are perceived as problematic or dangerous, or if society perceives them in a different light. The third goal was to find out if they also see the causes of their problems and can perceive them positively. Based on the results, it was found that society perceives children and adolescents with behavioral disorders most often as someone who often and in large quantities consumes alcohol and smokes cigarettes. The majority of respondents perceive individuals with behavioral disorders as fixable, and more than half perceive them as someone who is to blame for their disorder. The thought of individuals with behavioral disorders in society evokes mixed feelings in most. More than half of the respondents perceive these individuals as problematic, but not dangerous. The research also showed that society believes that the greatest influence on the emergence of disordered behavior is an unsatisfactory family environment and relationships with peers. Society has largely agreed that the most important factor in preventing the development of behavioral disorders is a suitable family environment. The vast majority of those interviewed also believe that children and young people with behavioral disorders in our country do not receive enough care and are not taken care of.
Molecular genetic analysis of thyroid carcinomas in pediatric and adolescent patients
Bulanová, Barbora
Thyroid nodules are rare in pediatric and adolescent patients, but they are at greater risk of malignancy than adult patients. Thyroid carcinomas are the most common endocrine malignancy and their incidence is increasing. Although there are several types of thyroid carcinoma, 90% of cases in pediatric and adolescent patients are papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs). The aim of this study was to analyze a large cohort of PTCs from pediatric and adolescent patients, determine their genetic cause, and correlate the findings with clinical pathological data. Another aim was to characterize the most frequent findings and compare them with a cohort of adult patients with thyroid carcinoma positive for the same mutation. The final objective was to optimize a suitable methodology for detecting the most common findings in pediatric and adolescent patients for routine use. Thyroid tumor tissue samples were examined using molecular genetic methods, mostly using next-generation sequencing and real-time PCR analysis. We found that fusion genes were the most common cause of PTC in pediatric and adolescent patients, detected in 56% of patients. In total, 20 different types of fusion genes were identified, some of which have not been previously described in the literature. The fusion genes included the oncogenes...

Kindergarten in Brno
Gladiš, Filip ; Sátora,, Josef (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a kindergarten at Údolní street, near the public park Obilní trh in Brno-centre. The aim of this project is to create a new architectural and urban concept, that will benefit the surrounding areas. The building itself has one floor and a green roof which is accessible from the terrain. The entering space reacts to a path connecting the public park with the Špilberk castle. The kindergarten has its own garden for outdoor activities of its children. In the close neighbourhood, you can find an educational institution The Open Garden, The Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation. The concept tries to take the preschool education from an environmental point of view and aims to connect the children with nature and natural materials. For those reasons, a special window type was designed, one that children can play in. They are pulled from the form and therefore create an expression of the whole building. Along with a wooden facade, the building looks playfully and light. The wooden planks rise up a meter above the roof creating a railing of the green roof. The building is designed as a public educational institution for preschool children. There are two separate departments with the capacity of 48 children. The sleeping takes place in the playrooms, there is also a dinning room, locker room, office, kitchen for preparing the meals, and the necessary facilities. The shape of the building creates a barrier between the public space and the private garden of the kindergarten.

Kindergarten at the Obilní trh in Brno
Kukuts, Olga ; Cahel, Tomáš (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Bantová, Sylva (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is based on the studio project created in the winter semester of the 2nd year of bachelor study. The topic of the studio was to create a study of a new kindergarten. The aim of the project was to create the most illuminated and safe space for children. The chosen territory is located in Brno and is defined by the northern slope and the spiers of Spilberk along the Údolní street in the context with adjoining Obilní market. The school is designed for two groups of children aged 3-6 with 25 children in each group and for 5 workers. The entrance is from the paved area adjacent to the parking lot and the sidewalk from the north side. The school is accessible from two sides; there are entrances for parents and employees. The building is made of cubic shapes and is designed in the form of U with a short cut, which is influenced by the world's sides in an attempt to brighten up as many social spaces as possible. The facade of the building consists of a simple plaster and a slat wall made of sliding and swinging slats on the windows. The facade is made in a simple style. It is a light beige plaster that is used in lower and higher reliefs. The main color element is the proposed various-color outdoor sliding aluminum lamellas. The object is moved away from urban communication and it is assumed that the free space between the school and the communications in the future will be stopped by living and administrative objects such as extending the paved space from the south.
