Šedivý, Dominik ; Sovák, Libor (advisor) ; Šimsa, Jáchym (referee)
Title: Effect of strength training on middle distance running useful for professional sol- diers in preparation for the 12-minute run Objective: The purpose of this thesis is to use the selected literature to create a review of strength training exercises that can assist soldiers or athletes in preparation for an en- durance test, specifically the 12-minute run. Methods: A narrative literature search was chosen for the development of this bachelor the- sis. Based on the topic of the thesis and synonyms related to it, the aim of the thesis, the research question was determined and keywords were chosen to facilitate the selection of studies. Subsequently, the criteria for inclusion or exclusion of each study was determi- ned. Then, the selection of appropriate studia in the Web of Science, PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus databases was performed. A table was then created in Microsoft Ex- cel to record the results from each study. Results: A narrative review analysed 20 studies and found that strength training targeting the lower limb muscles in combination with plyometrics has a positive effect on perfor- mance in middle distance running. The main benefits of this training include impro- vements in running economy, maximal and explosive power, neuromuscular characteris- tics, energy cost of running,...

Plešáková, Aneta ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Kolář, František (referee)
Thema works: The overview of the oldest cross country runs in the Czech Republic Student: Aneta Plešáková Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Mgr. Aleš Kaplan, MBA, Ph.D. Aims: The goal of my work is to find and study the available literature, and based on it create an overview of the selected oldest cross-country races organized in the Czech Republic. Another goal is to characterize cross-country running, outline the position of cross- country running within the Czech athletic federation and mention its brief history. Methodology: The method of analysis of available literature was used in my work. And then, based on it, an overview of the oldest cross-country races in the Czech Republic was created using the literary research method with added commentary. Results: Based on a literary search of available documents, an overview of the oldest cross- country races in the Czech Republic was created. It was found that the oldest race is Běh Štěpánkou (1924). Velká Kunratická, Lesní běh Pintovkou, Běh kolem Doubravky, Mikulášský běh na Bradech, Běh 17. listopadu, Posvícenský koláč and Přespolní běh Popelka took place without interruption. Of the entire overview, seven races were founded before World War II, three during and the remaining ten races after World War II. Key words: athletics; cross country run;...
Preparatory exercises to eliminate the most common faults in hurdles
Petřík, Pavel ; Jandová, Soňa (advisor) ; Kašpar, Ladislav (referee)
Diploma thesis is focused on the mistakes of hurdle running. Technical performance is very often ignored to the exclusion of training intensity and volume. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the technical faults and then describe preliminary exercises that will improve the technical performance of the different parts of hurdle running. In the theoretical part, the readers are introduced to information related to hurdle running (start, technique, rhythmic unit, etc.). In addition, the theoretical part introduces several aspects that lead to improving hurdling performance, such as strength, speed, and other skills. Lastly, the connection between psychology and sport is mentioned, where learning and temperament are mainly discussed. A very peripheral view of the philosophy of sport is mentioned in the thesis. Subsequently, we have taken pictures and analyzed them and named the most common mistakes in hurdling technique. We then applied preliminary exercises for 10 weeks and then took a second picture record. After the intervention program, we verified the athlete's progress. In most cases, the program worked as expected, only in one case the expected result did not occur. The last subchapter deals with the alternative use of obstacle courses in school physical education classes. The thesis then...
Utilization of the running power meter STRYD in determining the dynamic parameters of running footwear and their impact on the performance of an endurance runner
Shánělová, Štěpánka ; Kundera, Václav (referee) ; Pavelka, Jan (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with the findings of running performance in two different types of running shoes. The differences in performance generated by the runner in each type of shoe are observed. The theoretical part discusses the methodology of running training, the evolution of running shoes, the monitored running parameters with a focus on running power. The second part of the thesis is practical, where the methodology of data collection and data processing is explained. Furthermore, the results are interpreted.
Analýza tlaku chodidla na podložku při různých rychlostech běhu
Pevná, Barbora ; Pavelka, Jan (referee) ; Korvas, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of foot pressure with increasing running speed. The Medilogic WLAN insole system was used to record foot pressure over time. The thesis describes running biomechanics, running technique, stride technique and devices used for running analysis. One part of the thesis deals with the anatomy of the lower limbs. Two groups of runners were measured during the research. The first group consisted of 10 orienteering runners and the second group consisted of 10 middle and long distance runners. All runners completed eighteen 50 metre sections at gradually increasing running speeds. The data collection and processing are described in the methodological part of the thesis. From the measured data it was found that athletes and orienteers run with different techniques. Differences between the groups were found in pressure values, load ranges and power values. Athletes use the swing running technique earlier and use more forefoot than orienteers as running speed increases. The final section of the thesis includes a discussion that evaluates the benefits and limitations of the work.
Football Recycling
Kokošková, Dorotea ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (referee) ; Sedlák, Jaroslav (advisor)
The area in question is located near the city center and has significant historical importance as the main territory of Brno football and hockey. However, in its current state, it is almost inaccessible to pedestrians due to fragmentation and being cut off from the surrounding urban structure. The project aims to create paths and sidewalks for runners, pedestrians, and cyclists, which will improve accessibility and movement in the area. At the same time, it will expand Lužánky Park as a popular place for recreation. The project works with existing fragments of past plans and takes into account spatial and historical facts. The proposed changes include solutions to urban and architectural aspects, as well as new sports facilities that will support the diversity and multifunctionality of the area.
Person Identification Based on Locomotion
Pražák, Ondřej ; Richter, Miloslav (referee) ; Horák, Karel (advisor)
This paper deals with study of human movement and using that in identification. In the first part of my work are explained characteristics of human movement and factors which take effect on these characteristics. Practical part is dealing with design of program which is solving mentioned problems. The input of program is created by video sequence with lateral movement of human. The program is finding coordinates of lower limbs joints. From this coordinates are created locomotion characteristics used for human identification. Matching of time behaviors is based on correlation.

Teaching-space paradigm
Behro, Daniel ; Maršíková, Hana (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
What should the current area of higher education be like? And what should be the space for creative work? Is the type of teaching reflected in the school building itself? I wonder if, for example, the Faculty of Social Studies would be made up only of social spaces? If the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering were to look like a hall for the production of automotive components, what would the Faculty of Legal Studies look like? And what about the Faculty of Architecture? Does the appearance and quality of the building determine the appearance of the projects created there? Does its structure affect the next generation of architects? Or should it be as clean and white as canvas before the first stroke of the brush is projected on it? I deal with both assumptions: the building as a pure paper, which gives freedom for creativity and does not limit the mind, and on the other hand, matter, structure, space, which shows what architecture can do. I prefer freedom of choice, which is why I want to describe both approaches in the proposal. Open-space free layout versus firmly defined closed studios. Artistic space, free versus technically and rationally defined space. Virtual space versus space of unchanging matter.
