Hejcman, Josef ; Bílek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of a car center for the VW Group in Brno. The car center includes a showroom with the sale of new cars from the brands VW, Seat, Škoda, and Audi, a spare parts shop, and a service center. The site under consideration is located in the Brno – Komárov district, between Sokolova and Hněvkovského streets. There is a planned construction of a road from Sokolova Street on the site, dividing it into two parts, with the car center situated in the larger part along Hněvkovského Street. The new road will provide access to the facility for vehicles. The proposed car center is a standalone two-story building consisting of two prismatic-shaped volumes connected to each other with a trapezoidal footprint. It is a structure with two halls made of a steel skeletal system with a reinforced concrete core between them. The halls are differentiated in terms of height, function, and color. The roof is green (vegetative) and equipped with solar panels. The showroom for the sale of new cars and the spare parts shop are located in the taller hall, which features a prominently glazed column-truss facade. This facade is followed by a Dri Design Tapered cassette system in a dark blue color (RAL 5026) at the level of the roof's supporting structure. The service area with a warehouse is situated in the smaller, more expansive hall, and its facade consists of vertically laid sandwich panels with a smooth surface in a light color (RAL 9016), and horizontally laid sandwich panels in the color RAL 5026 in columns around the doors and windows. The halls thus contrast with each other. The hygiene facilities for employees are located in the reinforced concrete core.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of the required drawing documentation for the DSP and DPS of the new building of the Volkswagen Group Autocentre. The work is based on the requirements of the assignment, which was submitted in the second year in the studio of industrial constructions. The work consists of an assignment, drawings, text documents, architectural study, cadastral situation and others. The addressed area is part of the cadastral territory of Komárov. The building plot is bordered in the eastern part by Hněvkovského street and in the southern part by Sokolova street. The terrain of the plot is mainly flat, on the borders with the mentioned streets it sharply approaches their level. The land is not currently being used in any way. The object is a building that is designed to enable the operation of passenger cars due to its function. The car center is made up of parts such as a showroom, service and sanitary facilities. Due to the different operation of these parts, the individual functions were physically separated. The color and material solution was chosen with regard to the technical nature of the building. In terms of layout, the object is conceptually divided into three units. The showroom includes the sale of new cars, the sale of spare parts, the provision of advice and the operation of the administrative department on the second floor. The whole service includes all workplaces dealing with repairs, washing, painting, storage and other operations. These separate operations are connected by a sanitary facility, which contains sanitary facilities for employees and customers.

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the development of documentation for a building permit and part of the documentation for the construction of the Volkswagen Group car center building. The proposal is directly based on the assignment of the subject BGA021 – Studio of production buildings, and follows on from the studio project processed in the winter semester of the second year. The new building is located in the Brno-Komárov district, at the intersection of Hněvkovského and Sokolova streets, and its location makes use of a lucrative position. The car center building combines a service and showroom with an administrative part. With its internal arrangement, it effectively separates these two different operations so that they do not interfere with each other and at the same time they can cooperate. Exterior, on the other hand, tries to connect these operations into a seamless whole. This is to be achieved by the repetitive verticality freely transitioning from the shading system of the showroom to the copilite glazing of the service. The internal layout of both parts of the building is designed taking into account the rapid development of the automotive industry and is maximally flexible. The showroom is intended as a monumental elevated space with an exposed roof structure and a minimum of fixed elements. The service is similarly designed as an open workshop area, only unclean or noisy operations and storage areas are separated.

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the elaboration of project for the building permit and for the construction of the VW Car Centre in Mikulov. The documentation follows the study maked during the summer semester of the academic year 2019/2020, within the AG033. The aim of the study was to develop an available, functional, and architectural solution. The bachelor's thesis elaborates this study in detail. The building site is in South Moravia, on the northwestern edge of Mikulov in the former collective farm. The building is connected to the local road by Jiráskova Street, two entrances, connected by an asphalt road around the building. Around road, there are parking areas for visitors and employees, as well as parking areas for serviced vehicles and vehicles intended for sale. The building is divided into several functional units, especially the sale of new cars, with administrative, sale of spare parts with a handy warehouse and authorized service, with facilities for employees and a spare parts warehouse. These units are reflected in structure, consisting of three blocks, different in height, adapted to the requirements for traffic height. In the first, one-floor block, there is a car shop, in the middle, two-floor block, storage and sale of spare parts on the ground floor, the administrative on the second floor. In the third block is the service. The parts are interconnected and thus form one continuous object. From an architectural point of view, the building is based on the surrounding industrial buildings and is flattened with a titanium-zinc overhanging perforated shell. The sun exposure of the building is ensured by curtain walls on the sides of the building, on the second floor by windows. Furthermore, the building is illuminated by skylights. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create documentation for a building permit and documentation for the construction of a building, the basic compositional and architectural design of which is based on a previously processed architectural study within the subject AG033 - Atelier of production buildings. This is a design project of the Volkswagen Group Autocentre in Mikulov. The specified land intended for development is located in the westernmost part of the town of Mikulov in the cadastral territory of the town of Mikulov, it is an industrial zone of the town. The surrounding buildings are largely made up of low-rise large-scale buildings, production halls, storage facilities or agricultural buildings and their accessories. Within the zoning plan, the area adjacent from the south side to Jiráskova Street is listed as a brownfield. The shape of the land predetermines the proposed construction of the longitudinal shape of a deep character, as the land is stretched in the north - south direction and has the shape of a gradually narrowing trapezoid. The terrain is slightly sloping and descends to the south. From the south side, a wastewater treatment plant is adjacent to the solved area. The bachelor's thesis also deals with the solution of the external modifications of the area, including transport infrastructure, stratification and the number of parking spaces. An essential part is also the distribution and character of the upper and lower greenery, the location and shape of the areas intended for demonstration vehicles. Last but not least, the work deals with the solution of engineering networks within the technical equipment of buildings and technical infrastructure, management of waste, etc. The proposed building respects the floor plan delimitation of the land, primarily by maintaining the parallelism of the perimeter walls with these boundaries. The central element of the mass composition is an extravagantly designed ellipse used as the main exhibition space, opened by a large-area rounded glazing into the entrance area of the exterior. The remaining masses of the building are formed by blocks of different height levels, which achieves the compositional principle of gradation. The completely monotonous mass of the production hall is broken in each field by a massive skylight encircling the building along the entire perimeter of its section. The building has premises for warehousing, administrative activities, exhibition premises, technical facilities and premises belonging to professional workplaces of car mechanics. All material segments of the building are interconnected by internal passages. The whole building has a purely industrial character, which is based on the character and purpose of use of the building and has a connection with the automotive industry. The main materials used in the construction of this building are structural steel, concrete and thermal insulation perimeter panels. The façade emphasizes the essence of the ellipse, which is largely-glazed, while the storage and production areas are hidden in the rear and their visual layer is formed by sheet metal in gray, respectively. white color.
