Influence of location of Al castings in a heat treatment furnace on mechanical properties
Toufar, Tomáš ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horenský, Jiří (advisor)
The present Master thesis deals with location of aluminium castings in the heat treatment furnace and its influence on mechanical properties. As testing samples for the experimental part, tensile bars were used; they were cast from the subeutetic silumin AlSi7Mg0,6. These samples were placed in the furnace in the locations where temperatures were calibrated by the furnace supplier. Then, tensile tests were performed to evaluate the resulting mechanical properties of the samples. The experiment was carried out in the foundry of non-ferrous metals, MESIT foundry Ltd., Uherské Hradiště.
Influence of degassing parameters on quality of Al castings
Jeřábek, Petr ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Vašťák, Patrik (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on optimalization of degassing parameters in the foundry plant and effect of these parameters on mechanical properties of Al-Si alloys. In practical part is used factorial experiment to research effect of degassing parameters on mechanical properties and dichte index. After optimalization the new process is validated by comparing with the previous one. This experiment was taken on AlSi7Mg0,6 alloy in foundry plant MESIT foundry, a.s.
Present state of investment casting technology
Bártů, Zbyněk ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
.The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the most modern and latest trends used in investment casting technology. The aim of this bachelor thesis is literary research on the most modern equipment that used wax pattern manufacture, ceramic shell manufacture, de-waxing, metal pouring and finishing operation. The first part describes the history and development of the investment casting technology. The following chapters disclose a general procedure for the production of the investment casting technology and equipment suitable for its manufacture.
Additive technologies and their using when making prototype castings
Čagánek, Radim ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with Rapid Prototyping systems and their uses in foundry. This thesis describes three most significant RP systems, on which is explained principle and distribution of them. The another part of the thesis describes how is RP systems useful in production of sand molds, ceramic shells and permanent mold.
Validation of numerical simulation of wax filling into mother die followed by its optimization
Bochníček, Štěpán ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The main topic of the diploma thesis is simulation of the process when wax is filling the cavity of the "mother" metal die. This knowledge is the neccessary presumption for correct design of the gating system and setting correct injection parameters (temperature, pressure, wax flow) when making wax patterns.
Optimized manufacturing of aluminium castings by using lost wax technology
Talanda, Ivan ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to choose new pattern wax for Fimes a.s. foundry. New wax should substitute old not fully satisfactory pattern wax which caused problems in technological process resulting in increased number of rejects. New pattern wax should eliminate current problems and help foundry with producing large, thin-walled, high-quality castings. Numbers of pattern waxes supplied by world’s leading wax manufacturers were subjected to laboratory tests and pilot study. This diploma thesis is part of project Alfa TA01010766: „Research and development of production technology large, thin and high quality castings of aluminium alloys “
Optimized lost wax process by using numerical simulation
Svobodová, Radka ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to ascertain the process of injecting the wax through an injection moulding machine under certain input conditions and with the help of the simulation program Cadmould 3D-F®, to perfect the injection and the following solidification of the wax. Only thanks to a perfect injection and the following solidification of the wax, a precise wax pattern can be made. In order to compare the process of injecting the wax mixture, we are helped by the Cadmould 3D-F® simulation program and the records of the injection taken by a video camera. In this thesis a simulation program used when simulating the injection of plastics was applied, as a means of comparison. In this case the similarity between the rheological characteristics of both wax and plastic was exploited.
Possibilities of using modern methods in manufacturing of prototype castings
Šmíd, Jiří ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The introduction part of the thesis focuses on the overview of rapid prototyping in foundry industry. Principles of the most important RP methods are described and the FDM method is analyzed in more detail. This method was used in the practical part for the production of wax patterns with silicone moulds. The wax patterns were used for the production of castings using the lost wax method. The result of this work is determination of dimensional changes during the whole process of casting manufacture from the drawing to the final casting.
RP technology using FDM method and investment casting technology
Smrčka, Václav ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Determining accuracy of wax patterns is an important in wide implementing rapid prototyping methods in investment casting. This experiment is comparing wax pattern accuracy produced in classical metal die and silicone mould. It has been found out, that wax patterns produced by the silicone mould are ounly about one or two accuracy steps worse then wax patterns produced by classical metal die.
