The role of p130Cas substrate domain mediated signaling in cancer cell migration, invasiveness and metastasis of cancer cells
Zemanová, Kateřina ; Brábek, Jan (advisor) ; Čáslavský, Josef (referee)
p130Cas (Crk-associated substrate) was first described over 30 years ago as a protein that associates with the v-src and v-crk oncoproteins and undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation. Proteins of the CAS family are an important part of cellular biological processes in normal and pathological situations. The existence of 15 YXXP repetitive motifs is characteristics for substrate domain. p130Cas is an adapter protein that allows interactions between proteins that lead to assembly of multiprotein complexes. The p130Cas protein regulates these multiprotein complexes, which further drive chemotaxis, apoptosis, differentiation and migration. Overproduction of CAS proteins was found in connection with a poor prognosis and an increased incidence of metastases. Also, the elevated expression of proteins of the CAS family is related to resistance to some types of chemotherapeutics.
The Possibilities of alternative and augmentative communication for clients with ASD

The aim of the practical part is to analyze the data obtained by observation and evaluation of written questionnaires. The observation and questionnaire survey was carried out at the Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Opařany as part of respite care led by APLA South Bohemia. The bachelor thesis deals with the experience of former substance users with reintegration into society after leaving a therapeutic community or psychiatric hospital. The aim of the thesis is to find out the application in the personal lives of former users of addictive substances after leaving a treatment centre. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical part deals with the definition of the most important terms associated with the bachelor thesis. In the initial part, there are described individual addictive substances, substance abuse, and options of the treatment of substance addiction. The next part focuses on reintegration and its basic terms. The final part deals with aftercare. The practical part concentrates on the survey for which were chosen two research questions dealing with the way of integration of former users of addictive substances into society and with one of the greatest obstacles that former substance users face during the reintegration. For getting the results was chosen a qualitative survey and the interview method, concretely a method of the semi-structured interview. The examined sample consisted of eleven informants who were chosen by the self-selection and the snowball sampling. Obtained data were subsequently analysed via the grounded theory method. The results of the survey revealed that the best means for the successful reintegration is the focus on aftercare and, ideally, stay in the aftercare centre. Having secured employment, quality family background, and financial security is necessary for easier maintenance of abstinence. The bachelor thesis may serve as a manual for various facilities working with users of addictive substances, such as therapeutic communities, psychiatric hospitals, and aftercare centres.
Way of thinking by philosopher - dissident Bohumir Janat
Zemanová, Kristýna ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Jirásková, Věra (referee)
Dissertation "A thought journey of a philosopher-disident Bohumír Janát" deals with the life and work of a Christian philosopher and spokesman of Charter 77. The work is not divided into two parts, but each chapter includes both his personal and professional life as well as analysis of Janáts texts. The work begins with Janáts childhood and his studies at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague and continues with the period from graduation until the year 1989 when his texts already contain motifs he was developing for the rest of his life. Year 1988 was particularly important as at this time he was the spokesman for Charter 77. The third section is the period from 1989 to Janáts death in November 1998 when he produced most of his work. The work is especially pointing out that Bohumir Janát was always a critic of present, he ran against the spirit of the time - during and even after a totalitarian regime end in November 1989. He saw the coup as a revelation of God's power, not as a revolution. He hoped for a change in the mindset of the nation, for a turnover to the sphere of ethics and spiritual deepening. Post- revolutionary development, however, was a deep disappointment for him. His inspiring thinkers were S. Dunne, H. D. Thoreau, T. G. Masaryk and F. Nietzsche, whose philosophy...
