Crank train of a two-stroke racing motorcycle engine
Šmahel, Matěj ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with numerical-construction design of a two-stroke single cylinder internal combustion engine crankshaft. First part of diploma thesis describes main force effects of crank train and describes selected two-stroke engine. The second part of this diploma thesis is dedicated to numerical modelling of crank train in Multi-Body System. The main goal is to determine an effect of balance factor to motorcycle components. Loads of main crankshaft bearing and engine mounts are evaluated. Acceleration in handlebars and attachment points for footrest is also determined. The results are summarised, and further possible process is outlined.
Power valve for Two Stroke Engine
Hanuš, Michal ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
Masters thesis focused on possible design aspects for electronically controlled two-stroke exhaust valve.
Motorcycle wheel force transducer
Krišpín, Jakub ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Tobiáš, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a driven motorcycle measuring wheel. The wheel is designed for a KTM RC 390 motorcycle but can be used on another motorcycle if the centre section is replaced. The wheel is designed to measure torque and longitudinal and vertical force, which is very useful for analysing the dynamics of the motorcycle. The measurement systems designed to measure the forces and moments on the wheels of the vehicles are introduced in the beginning of this thesis. Furthermore, the wheel design for the selected motorcycle is presented including the optimization of the wheel spoke shape. The optimized shape creates a region of homogeneous stress where strain gauges are installed to measure torque. Subsequently, structural analysis is performed in Ansys software using FEM. It verifies the structure in terms of strength. Then suitable strain gauges are selected and their wiring is designed. The proposed measuring wheel should serve as an alternative to commercially available measuring systems which are very expensive. The material cost of the presented wheel is approximately 78 thousand CZK.
Optimization of motocross sidecar chassis
Švihálek, Petr ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Tobiáš, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design solutions of shock absorbers in the motorcycling discipline of sidecarcross. A research of various construction variants of shock absorbers was conducted, along with their measurements both in laboratory conditions and during training rides. The thesis explores the influence of basic adjustment elements of shock absorbers on their performance. The measurement results are analysed and presented using graphs illustrating the distribution of shock absorbers in the reaction area of normal compression and in the response area of the HS regulator. The theoretical part of the thesis provides basic information about sidecarcross, the history of shock absorbers, and their function. The practical part focuses on the installation of equipment and field measurements. The acquired knowledge is utilized to formulate recommendations for the optimal adjustment of shock absorbers, which can positively affect the riding characteristics and performance of racing specials.
Vehicle suspension design and testing methods
Šenkeříková, Veronika ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to suspension systems and their typology. Furthermore, the basic geometric parameters of these systems are discussed in the thesis. Types of suspensions (axles) are classified according to the interdependence of individual wheels. Subsequently, the thesis provides an overview of simulation software for chassis development and testing in the virtual phase of development. These are divided according to computational principles, result evaluation, and environment. The last section addresses issues related to chassis testing and its properties as a whole, testing individual chassis components to verify durability etc. The thesis includes specific representatives of testing conditions. For each chassis component, a representative from each chassis subsystem is selected. This thesis provides a current overview of methods and tools used in the automotive industry for development and testing. It demonstrates the importance of both virtual testing and testing on testbeds for already finished products.
Trends in the development of hybrid vehicles
Ďurica, Matej ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to make brief research in the hybrid automotive department, focused on the last ten years of development. The first part describes the categories of hybrid vehicles with an emphasis on the development of accumulators and related technology. An important part is the advantages and disadvantages of systems and drives. The second part deals with the future of hybrid drives, applications mainly in heavy industry, and the possibilities of changing "heavy" fossil fuels with "greener" alternatives. At the end of the work is the evaluation of the impact of the COVID crisis on the automotive industry.
Electric Longboard Powertrain Design
Pliešovský, Libor ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of electric longboard drivetrain for commuting. The first part deals with the recherche of electric longboards and drivetrain concept selection. The second part contains the design of the whole assembly with focus on the drivetrain. The last part is devoted to the longitudinal driving dynamics.
Urban three-wheeled vehicle with electric drive
Černík, Adam ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Tobiáš, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the conceptual design of the chassis of a three-wheeled. The total payload od the vehicle is 160 kg. At the beginning, the work deals with the search for different types of chassis in used three-wheeled vehicles. The advantages and disadvantages of various chassis concepts and the subsequent choice of one them are also summarized. Then the conceptual parameters of the vehicle are selected. At the end a 3D model is modelled in program Inventor, which corresponds to the selected conceptual parameters. This model is used to visualize the designed chassis of three-wheeled vehicle.
Stabilization systems of motorcycles
Honek, Bohumil ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
In terms of this bachelor’s thesis, the author created a comprehensive overview and description of mechanical and electronic stabilizing systems of one-track vehicles. This thesis furthermore deals with the impact of a vehicle’s structure on its stability and riding dynamics and also includes a brief historical development of the individual components. This thesis then offers an outlook into the close future of vehicles’ and similar machinery’s stability, followed by the author’s critical evaluation.
Concept of sidecarcross motorcycles
Tobiáš, Martin ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Sidecarcross is a successful and an attractive motorsport discipline in Czech republic, both for spectators and for competitors. In Czech republic, this sport is purely amateur, inexpensive off-road motocross circuits are in many places. The goal of the thesis is to introduce contemporary sidecarcross machinery to the readers, apprise them of attempts to further develop this racing industry and enable them to be knowledgeable spectators at the races. The thesis can also be useful to novice racers, which usually use refurbished used machinery from abroad.
