Divorce and post-divorce communication between parents and adolescent psychosocial development

The goal of the diploma thesis is to outline the possible connections of divorce or separation and the subsequent communication between the parents and selected areas of psychosocial development of adolescents, especially with their well-being. The part dedicated to literature review gradually introduces adolescent development, family breakdown in the Czech Republic and subsequently, the topic of conflict and family breakdown in relation to adolescents. The topics are set in the context of current research findings. This part also comments on the circumstances and strategies, which help adolescents to cope with the situation. The empirical part presents a study focusing on the connection between the level of conflict between the parents at the time of separation, the age of the adolescent, and well-being. The collected sample provided no significant connection between the three aspects. Possible reasons are discussed. The The development of empathy and its manifestations in preschool children

One of the fundamental variables in the development of a pre-school child is the development of empathy, which can then significantly influence other stages and areas of the life of an individual. This thesis is divided into two main parts - a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the concept of empathy in terms of its history and division of this concept. Furthermore, it focuses on a description of a pre-school child in connection to selected cognitive processes related to the development of empathy. The theme of empathy is also related to the theory of mind, which is closely related to empathy. In addition, the subject of this work is also to describe significant manifestations of empathy in the pre-school period. At the end of the theoretical part are presented selected research results providing information about the ambient developmental conditions, which affect the child in pre-school age in terms of the development of empathy. The practical part contains a proposal of a research project that aims to verify research questions that could be related to the occurrence of higher empathy in some pre-school children through qualitative design.
