The bachelor thesis ‘Company’s communication strategy proposal’ deals with the current state analysis of the company Nářadí Veselý Brno, spol. s r. o., which sales manual electronical implements, authorized service, rental implements, and suggests possible improvements in the new company’s communication strategy. The communicative strategy should contribute to the betterment of the company’s current position on the market, raise company’s income and enhance the customers’ interest in the company.

Adjusting the intersection of roads I/23 and II/602 at Ostrovačice

Adaptation of existing level crossing of road I/23 and II/602 near Ostrovačice in the South Moravian region is solved in the diploma thesis. The level crossing is a transversal crossroads with four-lane major road, directionally divided. It is place of frequent traffic accidents. The outputs of road traffic survey made for the purpose of the thesis, the evaluation of rate of accidents and the capacity analysis of 5 versions of process layouts of the crossroads with detailed commentary are contents of the thesis. The thesis also includes the section of the drawings resulting from the previous sections. The first layout is a low cost, different road marking and traffic signing are the only changes. The second layout is conversion to the spiral roundabout.

Modifying interchanges Hradecka x Sports x Palacky

Thesis subject is a project documentation as a proposal of reconstruction of level crossing in Hradecká street to elevated crossing. Proposal is based on research of traffic intensity and consequential assessment of traffic capacity. Another thesis subject is a verification of potencial proposal of elevated crossing in Sportovní street and Hradecká street, which exists only in one way in present. This proposal is only indicative and can be used for next stage of project documentation. Proposal of crossing in Hradecká and Palackého třída includes design of beam of elevated crossing and design of cover crossing. Elevated crossing of Sportovní and Hradecká is designed as a beam of crossing, which runs on bridge construction of concrete.

Editing an intersection of roads I/43 x II/150 Boskovic

This master thesis deals with alteration of intersection of roads I/43 and II/150 near Boskovice, with focus on safety. Aim of the thesis was to decrease accident frequency in this location, while keeping the traffic fluent. First step was the evaluation of recorded speed and intensity on this crossroad and comparing it to the causes of accidents. Second step was to design solutions for this crossroad, and for one of these solutions was developed a design documentation.

Lipůvka – turbo roundabout of roads I/43 and II/379

This thesis builds on previous work on an Institute of Roads FAST VUT dealing with modifications of road I/43 Brno – Svitavy. A conversion of the existing temporary three leg single lane roundabout to egg turbo roundabout with four legs, is proposed there, in accordance with local plan of Lipůvka. The intersection of road I/43 and II/379 can be characterized by large congestions in the morning peak hours during weekdays and afternoon peak hours on Saturday and Sunday. That is the reason for implementation of capacity assessment of designed turbo roundabout and comparison with current situation. Construction of fourth leg is motivated by the planned expansion of residential area and the development of industrial zone on the south-western outskirts of the village and rerouting of the county road II/379 out of built-up area as well. Road I/43 is an important thoroughfare north of Brno, so it is obvious effort to eliminate the bottlenecks on the route. The thesis also includes a theoretical introduction dealing with the design of turbo roundabouts abroad.

Minidarpa robot - senzoric subsystem

This master’s thesis describes a sensorial subsystem of a mobile robot. The thesis mentions the structure and a basis of the satellite navigation. There are also described each systems and visualization techniques as e. g. WGS 84, including also other systems for specification of more accurate position on the Earth (EGNOS, WAAS and others). This thesis describes closely also a differential GPS and the corrections. For the purposes of the thesis there has been assembled GPS software for a fundamental and a remote station. There have been chosen and used modules for receiving a GPS signal and wireless modules for their communication. There are also used outcomes from the project of the Open Street Map in the thesis. Results of this project are described in details, decoded, adjusted and converted into RNDF file. At the end of this thesis there has been composed a function of the program for portable camera which works on principle time of flight. This portable camera is dedicated to look for immediate barrier and also for 3D space view in front of the robot. This thesis also including the process how the power source has been built up for this portable scanner.

Intersection design modification of roads I/55 and II/432, Hodonín

The aim of this Master's thesis is design of possible modifications of crossroad I/55 and II/432, primarily with focus on capacity and safety. The first part of this thesis is dealing with measurement and evaluation of current traffic intensities, and capacity calculations of suggested design modifications. The second part of the thesis consists of detailed project of one design modification (diamond interchange) for documentation for construction permit.

Du Bois and rap music: two ways of awakening of the African American self-consciousness

The aim of this thesis is to connect W.E.B. Du Bois and rap music as two immensely important influences on African American community by tracing the development from one of the greatest scholars in American history to the widely criticized musical genre. Du Bois is studied all over the world whereas rap lyrics are mostly ignored by scholars. Nevertheless, both can serve as extraordinary sources of knowledge and pride, both can lead to the awakening of African American self-consciousness, as far as we choose the right kind of rap music and the right Du Bois. Du Bois's inclination to Stalinism in his later years may be perceived as equally condemnable as the first album of the American gangsta rap crew NWA; but most importantly both Du Bois's radical political thinking and the emergence of gangsta rap are alerting and inevitable in a way. They were caused by the longstanding frustration of the black community in the US. The thesis compares the themes of Du Bois's collection of essays The Souls of Black Folk with the poetry of rap artists. An important part of this thesis is also a sketch of the development of African American progressive thought and social commentary, which is necessary to see the link between Du Bois and rap.
