Technoference in parents of children of young school age
Kahanová, Simona ; Lukavská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Píšová, Martina (referee)
This thesis explores the phenomenon of technoference, i.e. the disruption of interpersonal interactions through technology, and thus the use of digital devices in general. The investigation also focused on parenting (education), more specifically on media parenting - how parents transmit information about technology to their children. In particular, the theoretical part describes how technology can influence the family environment and how to mitigate certain negative consequences of technology use. It is clear from previous research that technoference has negative effects on communication and relationships within the family. Therefore, it is also desirable to investigate the conditions of its occurrence in the population, which is the focus of the empirical part. The aim of this paper was not only to provide a comprehensive view of technoference, but also to see if there are certain predictors that might point to families more at risk of this phenomenon. The results of the research indicated that the most important predictor is problematic technology use among parents, which was also an assumption obtained from previous research on technoference described in the theoretical part. Certain socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents also proved to be statistically significant. KEYWORDS...
Influence of local heating to PM10 levels in urban atmosphere
Píšová, Martina ; Hovorka, Jan (advisor) ; Škrabalová, Lenka (referee)
This master thesis evaluates the spatial variability of concentrations of PM10 on the area of towns Mladá Boleslav, Kosmonosy and small village Plazy during one month in the winter of 2013. Using a network measurements, we tried to determine whether sources of pollution are inside the city, or whether these harmful substances are transferred from the outside of the city to the area of the city. For the measurements we used a set of 9 portable laser nephelometers DustTrak (8520, TSI), which were placed on the roofs of schools. In the same time the device called beta-prachoměr (beta dust-meter) was continuously measuring concentrations of PM10, and we also monitored basic meteorological parameters (temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction). All these parameters were continuously measured at five minutes intervals. Also we did personal walks through the city, during which we measured personal exposure to PM10 concentrations. This exposure was compared with exposure of stationary monitors, and finally the differences were quantified. In Mladá Boleslav and in Kosmonosy, the same trend of concentrations of PM10 was observed at all selected locations in the city. Different trend of PM10 concentrations was observed in the village Plazy, where the peaks were higher and more frequent, especially in...
Ontogenesis of episodic memory in preschool children
Píšová, Martina ; Nekovářová, Tereza (advisor) ; Petrásek, Tomáš (referee)
Episodic memory enables us to remember and recall life events from the past. Episodic memory is a specific type of long-term declarative memory, which undergoes changes in ontogeny. To examinate of episodic memory, "episodic-like memory model", was developed. This model focuses on three basic components of episodic memory: "What happened", "Where did it happen" and "When did it happen". The aim of this diploma thesis is to develop and to validate of particular tests of episodic memory with consideration for their feasibility for preschool children. In order to study episodic memory we used an "episodic-like memory model" and experiments which focused on: children's verbal ability, differentiation of two perspectives during remembering of events and timing memories on an autobiographical axis. We aimed to inspect the effect of age on performance in these tests, possible links between performance in these experiments and the effect of level and the three components of episodic memory on number of errors made. In our dataset we found a significant effect of the age of children in Sentence repetition test and in test of Object collection in the virtual house, in the same test we found a effect of the level on number of errors. We also found a significant correlation between correct responses in verbal...

Kostková, Klára ; Píšová, Michaela (advisor) ; Hanušová, Světlana (referee) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
The aim of this dissertation is to assess the development of intercultural communicative competence in student teachers of English language within a study subject Intercultural Communicative Competence taught at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Pardubice. Firstly, the terminology to be used throughout the text is defined. Consequently, relevant theoretical foundations are introduced, especially philosophical foundations as well as foundations in linguistics and foreign language didactics. These indicate the position from which we approach the discussed phenomenon, i.e. interculturality that in the current globalized world poses new demands not only on pedagogical practice, but on research too. In the subsequent part of the dissertation focus lies on intercultural education, the key aim of which is defined as development of intercultural communicative competence. Current trends in intercultural education are discussed with accent on the specifics of English language teaching and learning. The core of the theoretical part of this work aims to conceptualize the construct of intercultural communicative competence and to elaborate on its consequent didactic aspects, i.e. its development and assessment. The empirical study includes two phases: first phase aims to capture the...
