The swinging segment of the slope lawnmower
Beranová, Iva ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Malášek, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of the swinging segment of the Spider 2SGS slope lawn mower. The issue of maintenance of hard-to-reach areas, e.g. around load-bearing structures of solar power plants, is currently not sufficiently addressed or discussed. The optimal solution to this issue is to design an additional mower for an existing mower. Therefore, a search was carried out on the market of available swinging segments and the purpose of their use. Furthermore, three prototypes of structures designed by the company DVOŘÁK - slope mowers and the selection of the most suitable one based on the given parameters - were described. The parameters of the V-belt and toothed belt used and the durability of the bearings used were verified on the basis of the design calculations performed, drawing documentation of all components, sub-assemblies and assemblies and 3D models of the swing segment assembly and the overall model of the equipment on the mower were created. On the basis of the calculations and drawing documentation, a prototype was assembled, which will be used for subsequent testing in real conditions.
Analysis of extensions for mounting a harvester head on an excavator
Popela, Dominik ; Struhal, Vít (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
The introduction of the thesis deals with a complete research of individual components that need to be mounted on an excavator to make it possible to use it for forest harvest. An integral part of the research is a detailed market research, thanks to which various designs of manufactured attachments were analyzed. The research part is followed by a description of the selected components of the assembly, which form an excavator attachment for its use in forest harvest. The following chapter already describes the author's own designs of the extensions design in three variants. The key part of the thesis is dedicated to dynamic simulation of the harvesting process and strength simulations of the designed extensions. Using dynamic simulation, the course of the force effects acting on the attachment pin, which arise during the process of felling a tree, was determined. The maximum force effects were determined from the results of the dynamic simulation, which were then applied in the strength analysis. The finite element method was chosen for the calculation of the strength analysis. The final form of the individual design variants of the extensions arose from the performed strength analyses. The conclusion of the thesis evaluates the achieved results and a detailed comparison of the created design variants of the extensions.
Modular firefighting superstructure for timber trailer
Němec, Filip ; Malášek, Jiří (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design of a modular firefighting attachment for forwarding trailers. The research part is focused on existing firefighting attachments, structural characteristics of trailers, types of firefighting pumps, structural characteristics of tanks and types of attachment exchanges. The outcome of the thesis is a complete 3D model of the attachment assembly. The thesis includes calculations of profile deflection, strength calculations of connecting components and buckling check of supports. The result of the work is a full drawing of entire attachment assembly.
Carried plant lifter of forest tree seedlings
Jůza, Dominik ; Malášek, Jiří (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the design of a carried plant lifter of forest tree seedlings for a tractor in the performance class up to 160 kW. In the introductory part of the thesis, there is research on the topic of forest nurseries, forest restoration and planting material. In the construction part, there is a complete design of the assembly of the carried plant lifter using a CAD program. The work includes the calculation required for the propulsion of the lifter and determination of the propulsion type of the vibrating grate. Furthermore, the work contains strength calculations of selected structural elements. The result of this work is a complete assembly of the carried plant lifter with drawing documentation.
Comparison of energy consumption of selected wastewater treatment plants
Bodnar, Maryna ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
The aim of this final bachelor's thesis is to compare the energy consumption of two wastewater treatment plants. One wastewater treatment plant is located in the Czech Republic and the other in Ukraine and both of them receive an input of wastewater corresponding to the category of 10 000 – 100 000 equivalent inhabitants. The thesis described the wastewater treatment processes, their energy intensity, legislation related to wastewater treatment and energy intensity. Both WWTPs were compared with respect to their power consumption and their efficiency. Based on the obtained data, the processes that consume the most electrical energy were identified to ensure sustainable and efficient operation of the WWTPs.
Disc trencher for mechanical soil preparation before to afforestation
Chupík, Vojtěch ; Malášek, Jiří (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the complex design of a disc trencher carried by a tractor, power class up to 110 kW. The initial research presented methods of mechanical soil preparation prior to afforestation, examples of disc cutters available on the market and the machine design concept. In the next section, a complete CAD model of the entire disc trencher was presented, followed by a more detailed design of the individual components. The work also includes calculations to determine the power required to drive the machine and the choice of drive type for the disc wheels themselves. Strength calculations and subsequent checks were performed on the selected components. The result of this work is a complete assembly of the disc trencher and its drawing documentation.
Scarificator for mechanical soil preparation
Mašek, Petr ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a mounted disc scarificator connected in the frontal three-point hitch of a universal agricultural tractor with the performance class up to 160 kW. The scarificator working parts are the disc trencher and the ripper knife. The introductory part includes a research analysis which concerns with reforestation and the mechanization used for it. The next part focuses on the conceptual design of the scarificator, the necessary power calculation for the disc trencher drive and the determination of the drive type. In the final part, the thesis focuses on the stress analysis of the machine frame. The work also includes drawing documentation.
Water treatment using high-capacity deionisation unit
Hucková, Katarína ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
Considering the growing global deficit of high-quality water and related environmental challenges, developing and optimising sustainable water treatment methods is crucial. This work focuses on capacitive deionization (CDI), an advanced technology for removing ions from water that utilizes an electric field for the adsorption and desorption of ions on electrodes. The experimental part of the study was dedicated to a detailed examination of various CDI cycles with respect to the efficiency of removing selected ions and their comparison with legislative standards for drinking water. The results suggest that CDI represents an effective method for reducing concentrations of ions such as chlorides, ammonium ions, calcium, and magnesium ions. The work also highlights the importance of regular flushing and regeneration of electrodes to maintain their efficiency and long-term stability of the system. The results confirm the functionality of capacitive deionization technology and its application in various industrial and environmental contexts, which is in line with worldwide research in this rapidly developing field.
Design of the timber trailer
Jílek, Jan ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Mergl, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of the structure of a forwarding trailer and analytical stress calculations at specific joints. The first part of the thesis focuses on describing the components, researching similar trailer structures, and summarizing legislative requirements.
