Comparison of penile blood flow changes in performance road cyclists obtained during a ride on a customized 3D printed and conventional saddle Author: Bc. Václav Šňupárek Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Aim: To update findings on penile blood flow in performance cyclists by measuring transcutaneous partial pressure of O2 (tcpO2) and CO2 (tcpCO2) on current style of racing bicycle saddles Subjects and methods: tcpO2 and tcpCO2 were measured non-invasively on the glans penis in healthy highly trained male cyclists (ළ = 30) with an average annual mileage of 14240 km on three different road cycling saddles - Posedla Joyseat, Specialized Power and Fizik Tundra M5. It has previously been shown that tcpO2 is highly correlated with arterial pO2. TcpO2 and tcpCO2 were measured continuously in each participant for ten minutes on each saddle with a random order of saddles while riding stationary bike trainer in a race fit position. Simultaneously, various data like saddle surface pressure via Velometrik Smart Cover BT, rider position via Retül Fit, power output, heart rate and cadence via Wahoo KICKR Bike were recorded, and glans penis biothesiometry data were collected with Bio Medical Instruments. Data analysis was done on statistical level of significance ළ < 0,05. Statistical methods used to...
Changes in pulmonary function and cardiac activity during reflex rolling stimulation according to Vojta
Charvátová, Zuzana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Martínek, Milan (referee)
Author: Zuzana Charvátová Title: Changes in pulmonary function and cardiac activity during reflex rolling stimulation according to Vojta Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate accompanying non-locomotive manifestations within the comprehensive response to stimulation of trigger zones from the concept of reflex locomotion according to Professor Vojta, which are a reflection of the function of the autonomic nervous system. Changes in respiratory parameters and changes in cardiac activity have been selected from these manifestations. Methods: The research was conducted on 26 healthy adult women aged 19-25 years. Reflex rolling according to Vojta from the supine position (RO - 1st phase) was chosen. Pressure stimulation was applied from the left chest trigger zone between the 6th and 7th rib for 10 minutes. Each subject also underwent apparent (sham) stimulation in the same position (RO - 1st phase), lasting 10 minutes, but on the right side of the chest between the 2nd and 3rd rib. Due to the possible lingering effect of pressure stimulation during VRL, sham stimulation was always preceded by experimental stimulation. A 10-minute break was taken between the two cycles. Data for the analysis of changes in lung function were obtained by spirometric measurements of FVC, FEV1, and PEF before...

Title: Assessment of muscle activity by surface electromyography in reflex locomotion according to Vojta Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to summarize the existing knowledge on the objectification of the effects of Vojta reflex stimulation. It is also aimed to verify whether there is a higher muscle activity in selected muscles (m. rectus abdominis, m. biceps brachii, m. tibialis anterior) during Vojta chest zone stimulation compared to placebo stimulation. Subsequently, the mean muscle activity relating to maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) for all selected muscles during stimulation was compared. Furthermore, muscle activity related to MVC in the first and last minute without stimulation was also recorded with surface electromyography (sEMG) and was later assessed. Methods: The sample consisted of female university students in the age range of 18-26 years. Muscle activity measurements were performed on a Trigno Delsys instrument with EMGworks Acquisition software. The MVC of selected muscles was measured for each subject, and also the other researchers whose studies were running in parallel with this work were performed. EMG signal measurements were performed not only during placebo stimulation and stimulation according to Vojta, but also in the first and last minute without any...

Title: Changes of intracerebral activity during stimulation of the chest trigger zone according to the Vojta principle Objective: The aim of this study is to examine whether stimulation of the chest trigger zone according to the Vojta principle results in changes of the brain electrical activity in the primary and secondary motor cortical areas evaluated in the sLORETA program. Methods: Seventeen healthy women aged 20-30 (25 ± 6.4) were involved in the experiment. Registration of the scalp EEG was performed with a special EEG cap. EEG was measured in all individuals with eyes closed in order to reduce ocular artifacts and to reduce visual afferentation. EEG activity was registered for 5 min at rest (PRE CE) prior to the actual reflex locomotion stimulation. Subsequently, the electrical activity was followed for 15 min during chest trigger zone stimulation (VOJTA CE). The experiment was terminated with the registration of the resting EEG recording until 5 min after the reflex locomotion stimulation of the trigger zone (POST CE). The obtained data were then statistically compared in the sLORETA program using a pairwise t-test with logarithmic transformation of the aliasing parameter 0,5 with permutation method using 5000 randomizations at the significance level p ≤ 0,05 with correlation for repeated...
