Evaluation of stress reaction to stimuli induced by virtual reality

This bachelor thesis focuses on the assessment of stress response to stimuli evoked in a virtual reality environment. In the theoretical part, it discusses the history of VR, the difference between VR and augmented reality (AR), VR hardware and its use in medicine. It also discusses in detail physiological parameters such as ECG, respiration, electrodermal activity and pressure plateau, which are very useful parameters in the assessment of stress responses. The results are supplemented by a questionnaire survey. The practical part proposes and describes the conduct of a research project to measure the stress response in a group of twenty volunteers. The data obtained are subsequently analyzed and statistically evaluated. Based on the discussion, the stress response is then confirmed for the parameters - heart rate and skin conductance level in the given phases. The results from the pressure platform are analyzed on only one sample participant. The STAI type questionnaire used did not show an increase in subjective stress.
Recognition of movements of an active upper limb prosthesis for modern needs.

Tato práce zkoumá oblast moderních náhrad končetin s důrazem na optimalizaci ovládání pohybových funkcí aktivních protéz. Cílem projektu je analyzovat a zpracovat data k vytvoření klasifikačního systému pro následné použití na vlastních datech. První část je věnována výsledkům průzkumu dvou skupin dobrovolníků (fyzicky zdraví a jedinci s omezením), porovnávání těchto výsledků a výběru nejrelevantnějších funkcí horní končetiny. Poté jsou studovány metody zpracování EMG, následované výběrem nejvhodnější metody. Popsán je také proces pořízení vlastní databáze a její zpracování. V poslední části jsou popsány vytvoření a testování funkcionality modelu umělé inteligence a zhodnoceno, zda dosažené výsledky jsou úspěšné.
Registration of retinal image data using evolutionary algorithms

This thesis deals with the registration of retinal images. Firstly, the introductory chapter summarizes the theory related to evolutionary algorithms and their practical application in the form of a literature search, then different approaches of retinal image registration and image transformation are described. At the same time, the anatomy of the eye as a key organ for visual perception is briefly introduced. In the practical part of the thesis, the method of registration of static and then dynamic retinal images is implemented using MATLAB software environment, and finally the results of different approaches are compared.
Segmentation of important structures in retinal images

This bachelor thesis focuses on the segmentation of significant structures in retinal image data to improve the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. Methods of retinal image analysis are investigated and implemented in this thesis. The thesis begins with an overview of the anatomy of the eye and the principles of background eye imaging using a fundus camera and an experimental video ophthalmoscope. This is followed by a detailed literature search focusing on current methods for the detection and segmentation of diagnostically important structures such as the optic disc, macula and blood vessels. A key part of the work is the implementation and testing of selected algorithms, including Hough transform for optic disc detection and OTSU thresholding for blood vessel segmentation and yellow spot detection based on previous optic disc segmentation.
Laboratory exercise using Vernier systems

The aim of this thesis is to design a measurement procedure in the LabVIEW development environment for three laboratory exercises using an ECG sensor, a blood pressure sensor and a spirometer from Vernier. In the theoretical part, the physiological introduction, the problems of the given devices and measurement methods are described. The practical part focuses on the development and verification of the proposed measurement protocols, which are attached as appendices to the thesis. It also includes support files for the exercises, including scripts for basic data acquisition and calibration. These materials are intended to serve as teaching tools enabling effective training and understanding of measurement methods in medical diagnostics.
System for monitoring of technical parameters of gamma ray emitters

The thesis "System for Monitoring the Technical Condition of Irradiators" focuses on developing a system that simplifies the display, interpretation, and subsequent processing of data obtained from stability tests on linear accelerators. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with radiotherapy and the technical tests conducted. The practical part describes the development and implementation of the system. The resulting product will be used in clinical practice at the Radiation Oncology Clinic of the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute.
Meta-heuristic algorithms for feature selection in classification of heart-related diseases

This thesis is devoted to the features selection for classification tasks related to heart disease. The optimal features selection is a key factor for the correct functionality of classification models and, in the case of medicine, for the improvement of diagnostics. The theoretical part discusses the general classification task in machine learning. Furthermore, some classic procedures as well as newer meta-heuristic algorithms for efficient feature selection are described in more detail. The practical part is devoted to the application of some of the described algorithms to data sets related to heart disease. The advantages and benefits of prioritizing meta-heuristic algorithms are discussed based on the verification of the validity of the result of the classification model according to selected symptoms of common procedures and evolutionary algorithms.
Signal generator for ECG Holter testing

This bachelor theses deals with the development of a device for testing the proper functionality of EKG holters. The aim of the project is to design and assemble a signal generator that can be used to test holters. The theoretical part covers electrocardiography and describes the principles of holter monitoring. It also describes various devices used for this monitoring, their parameters, and possible applications in clinical practice. The practical part focuses on the design of the signal generator itself, its assembling, and subsequent testing.
Analysis of osteolytic spinal tumors in patients with multiple myeloma using CT data

Táto bakalárska práca sa zameriava na analýzu osteolytických lézií u pacientov s mnohopočetným myelómom. Prvým krokom k dosiahnutiu nášho cieľa bolo štúdium tohto ochorenia, jeho diagnostických kritérií, možných komplikácií a dostupnej liečby. Praktická časť pozostávala z niekoľkých samostatných úloh. Štatistická analýza bola vykonaná na súbore údajov pozostávajúcom z CT skenov pacientov s diagnostikovaným mnohopočetným myelómom, ako aj osôb bez akejkoľvek patológie chrbtice. Po extrakcii a redukcii počtu príznakov sme dokončili analýzu získaných dát. Dospeli sme k záveru, že existujú príznaky, ktoré sa medzi týmito dvoma skupinami výrazne líšia. Po analýze celých tiel stavcov bola vykonaná analýza lézií na kontrolných snímkach, kde bol analyzovaný ich objem.
Enhancing Reliability and Benchmarking Performance of Agar Plate Handling Algorithms for Laboratory Automation Robots

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá problematiku vzorkové přípravy v oblasti mikrobiologie a lékařské diagnostiky s důrazem na automatizovaný robotický systém MBT Pathfinder, vyvinutý firmou \bruker. S využitím digitálních obrazových technik a konvolučních neuronových sítí se práce zaměřuje na zdokonalení algoritmu pro identifikaci pozice mikrobiálních kolonií v systému MBT Pathfinder. Praktická část práce prezentuje inovativní přístupy k optimalizaci kritických kroků vzorkové přípravy s cílem eliminovat chyby a zvýšit efektivitu procesu. Výsledky této práce mohou posílit spolehlivost mikrobiologických analýz v oblasti lékařské diagnostiky a mikrobiologického výzkumu.
