Age-related macular degeneration and therapeutic possibilities to influence the wet form of the disease
Fric, Evžen ; Langrová, Hana (advisor) ; Boguszaková, Jarmila (referee) ; Karel, Ivan (referee)
In our study we evaluated the functional and anatomical parameters in patients presenting with the wet form of ARMD treated by TTT, PDT or intravitreal administration of bavacizumab in the follow-up period of 12 months. In the group treated by TTT we found significant decrease of best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) within the follow-up period. In the group of patients with classic CNV treated by PDT, the resulting median of BCVA was the same as at the beginning. Therefore the PDT can stabilize BCVA, but cannot improve it. However, statistically significant improvement of BCVA was observed in the group of patients with ocult CNV treated with intravitreal administration of bevacizumab. BCVA was statistically insignificant between the groups at the initial visit, with the exception of significantly lower values in patients treated by TTT in comparison with those treated by PDT. After 6 and 12 months, the BCVA differences were only nonsignificant between TTT and PDT groups. In the group with classic CNV treated by PDT or TTT the difference in BCVA was not statistically significant, as well; on the other hand, the BCVA was significantly better in patients with occult CNV treated by bevacizumab in comparison with the patients treated by PDT or TTT. The best anatomical outcomes evaluated according to FAG...
Evaluation of visual functions after laser correction of ammetropia
Kyprianou, Georgia ; Langrová, Hana (advisor) ; Baráková, Drahomíra (referee) ; Těšínský, Pavel (referee)
Summary: Evaluation of visual functions after laser correction of ammetropia 1. We evaluated the quality of vision of 55 pacients (110 eyes) with myopia from - 0,5 dpt to -6,00 dpt after laser correction with PRK and LASIK. We compaired the results between group A after laser correction with the excimer laser Esiris (Schwind, Germany) and group B after correction with Amaris (Schwind, Germany). We investigated subjective visual perception, standardized visual acuity and contrast sensitivity under photopic and mesopic conditions as well as glare sensitivity at 1, 3, 12 and 24 months postoperatively. 2. Subjective perception: One month after the procedure, there were significant differences in questions concerning the overall visual quality, while watching TV and driving during the day and at night, with group B patients significantly more satisfied. Twelve months after the procedure, 100% of the patients of both groups were satisfied with their quality of vision. 3. Visual acuity: In group A, photopic and mesopic visual acuity significantly decreased 1 month after the procedure and then increased and differed only insignificantly from the preoperative values. In group B, photopic and mesopic visual acuity was changing insignificantly upto 3 months after the procedure and then increased significantly to...
Monitoring of the impact of modern surgical procedures on the central portion of retina using electrophysiological methods
Hejsek, Libor ; Langrová, Hana (advisor) ; Boguszaková, Jarmila (referee) ; Těšínský, Pavel (referee)
Monitoring of the impact of modern surgical procedures on the central portion of retina using electrophysiological methods. Libor Hejsek We evaluate annual anatomical and functional results of 20G pars plana vitrectomy for idiopathic macular hole, with peeling of the membrana limitans interna and instillation of gas tamponade (20% SF6). The observed group consisted of 32 eyes of 32 patients (3 men and 29 women), mean age 69 years (range 59-76). Objectification of ocular anatomy was done with: anterior segment slit lamp, the biomicroscopy in artificial mydriasis and optical coherence tomography (Stratus OCT ™, Carl Zeiss). Function of the central area of the retina was evaluated: the best corrected visual acuity in the distance (BCVA) with ETDRS optotype, multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) and pattern reversal electroretinography (PERG). For the statistical processing of results we used non-parametric Wilcoxon paired test. Anatomical results: the primary closure of the IMD occurred in 29 (90%), the IMD was not closed, but it's edges were flattened in 2 eyes (6%). Functional results: the visual acuity improved by 2 or more lines in 27 eyes (84%), of 3 or more lines in 18 eyes (56%), and 4 or more lines in 5 eyes (16%). PERG results did not have significant difference. Statistically significant difference...

Development of the Czech pension system after 1989 and its future direction
Langrová, Hana ; Krebs, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is an analysis of the development of the pension system in the Czech Republic since 1989. The emphasis is placed on reform provisions and on their impact on public budgets. Future direction is discussed next. The demographic development raises concerns about the financial sustainability of pension systems. The changes in the structure of the system were made after several years of discussions and a number of parametric adjustments. The question of sustainability is not closed yet. Recent changes are canceled and the system returned to the previous state. The reason was a lack of political and general agreement about this type of reform. The theoretical part deals with the definition of public budgets with a focus on social security. The importance and the function of pension systems are characterized in the next section. Pension systems are classified by the operator, by the method of calculating pension benefits and by the type of funding. Each pension system is based on tradition and is influenced by the development of society in the political, economic and social fields. In the practical part is performed the analysis of the pension system structured according to the periods. The impact of the reform provisions is illustrated on the state of public budgets. The thesis concludes that the initial efforts to change the system fundamentally will be replaced by attempts to implement minor adjustments. In the case of structural reform in the future it could be considered the application of modern pension theory, which recommends Pan-European pension system.
Analysis of Determinants of Home Matches Attendance Bohemians 1905
Langrová, Hana ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
This paper investigate the influence of selected variables on home matches attendance of the football club Bohemians 1905 during seasons 2000/2001-2011/2012. Obtained data were subjected to econometric analysis. Even with problems, which models have, they confirm about fundamental influence of regional rivalry, because 42 % more spectators visited derby matches. Important influence showed variables relating to played competition, match day and football field. Expected effect of ticket price on attendance was not demonstrated.
